I heard that one and was very confused. As I recall, the people who had lived where the Pilgrims settled had been wiped out in a plague or something before they arrived. Now there could have been Europeans involved in bringing that disease since usually it's diseases you've never been exposed to before that wipe out whole groups of people, but they were definitely gone before the Mayflower landed. And I don't think they did anything afterward that would be an issue. They took over land that was no longer lived in, because people died before they got there. They learned from Squanto and shared with those near them when their crops were bountiful the next year, those of them who survived the harsh winter. I heard that one and was very confused. As I recall, the people who had lived where the Pilgrims settled had been wiped out in a plague or something before they arrived. Now there could have been Europeans involved in bringing that disease since usually it's diseases you've never been exposed to before that wipe out whole groups of people, but they were definitely gone before the Mayflower landed. And I don't think they did anything afterward that would be an issue. They took over land that was no longer lived in, because people died before they got there. They learned from Squanto and shared with those near them when their crops were bountiful the next year, those of them who survived the harsh winter. Yes, there absolutely were situations you can call people out for, but the Mayflower? Am I missing something about that particular situation? I certainly don't know everything about the Mayflower and it's been a while since I've done anything other than look at lists of people on this ship, so I could be missing something, but am I?
