I’m in the medical field, and I have a lot of sympathy, and I have a lot of empathy for people. I even had a woman come in and tell me she was giving birth to an animal, and I played along with it because she’s mentally ill. I don’t know what I would do if a man came into my ER, telling me he was having a miscarriage I would asked Very frankly were you born a woman or were you born a man and I would treat him according to his stupid answer… Seriously let me just wake some of you up. If you were born with a penis, you will never have cervical cancer. About 20 years ago, I met a man who told me he was boycotting Disney. "Did you write to them, and tell them about your boycott?" "NO! I was raised believing vulgarity was the result of not being articulate enough to express your views. However, now that I’m older and wiser telling someone, “Ahhhh, STFU!” and walking away from these people is the most effective communication.
I worked about 30 years in construction, and in between I did an English-philosophy double major with a history minor, and then went on in pursuit of a PhD in philosophy (but I choked on the dissertation-- you try and write a phenomenology of the waking unconscious, and let men know how it goes for you). Anyway, my speech patterns became sprinkled with both vulgarity and big words. F'ing this and apriori that. But I did distinguish between profanity and obscenity, and pretty much eliminated the former. -- Over the past couple of decades, I have noticed a new kind of vulgarity growing-- the use of "literally" and "absolutely" for emphasis when what was being said was neither literally nor absolutely true. These words, when used properly, are specific to situations where one is stepping outside of practical, concrete language to comment on the way one is using language, and this new kind of vulgarity is far more damaging to our means of making sense than using sexual or scatological words for emphasis. The people who misuse these words generally believe that all truth is subjective, so their minds are fried already. So yeah, "STFU!" and walking away is probably the best response to them.
I choose to believe in the meme (?) that's been circulated in the last nearly decade. That people who swear are more intelligent and tend to have a larger vocabulary. They also tend to be happier, healthier and more honest. Having been in the Infantry, I found that many of us were intelligent, we just didn't like being in boring jobs. That's why we chose to be on the front lines. Maybe not the most reasoned and intelligent of decisions, but many of us wanted more action. I work in a school and the boys and girls act the same as we did at recess. The teenage girls huddled together yapping the boys playing some kind of sporting game. And there is a level of homophobia still with the males. They out right deny being gay. A lot of this stuff is purely media pushing an agenda, but the kids haven't changed the majority are regular kids.

My mother picks our kids up from school and if it’s my day to cook, my wife loads the dishwasher, and if it’s her turn, then I load the dishwasher and empty it. She does the laundry, I hang the clothes because she doesn’t let me wash the clothes for some reason 🤣🤣 and we’ve been together for 18 years, married for 17. I spent nearly 21 years in the US Navy Submarine Force, and this country no longer represents the values I grew up with and defended the country for. I really pity those that are true patriots and have to serve in the military today. I remember when my brain first came online. I was three years old, we had just moved to a new city and it was my first day at a daycare program. I remember feeling scared and shy, but I just did what the nice lady said and went to the play room to meet the other kids. The lady was showing off her indoor sandbox, big tub of water with boats, and other things to do. All I saw was a kid licking sand off his hand, and another kid crying because he dropped his shoe in the water. And that's when it it happened, my brain came online and all I could think was 'Oh My God... I am surrounded by morons! I was no longer a sweet little boy, I couldn't be, I had seen too much. I was now me, a cynical a**hole that navigates this world with the only sense i can truly trust; my sense of humor.

Wow, you beat me. Mine was grade one. My older brother taught me how to read. I have photos of a 3 year old me with books. Grade 1 comes around. Teacher: you’re not reading those books, you’re going through them too fast! You’re just looking at the pictures (Go Dog Go was hardly a deep book) she didn’t even ask me to read aloud. She wrote CAT on the board and told me to sound it out. Okay I may have zoned out (I got bored) but I had no idea what she meant but she just kept demanding I sound out the word. So I meowed.

No, I stayed in Academia and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and had a stellar career! My wife has a B.S. in Geology, my oldest son is in Grad School, working on a PhD in Physics, the other son is in Grad School working on a Masters in Aerospace Engineering. Hmmm, I wonder if they will make any money when they graduate?? You shouldn't have Transferred, and if you didn't graduate after 6.5 years, your grades most likely sucked. Stop giving out bad advice.

I had quit University, and returned when I finally knew what I wanted to do. I still think it is mostly a scam, but I unfortunately need the Bachelor's degree to do what I want to do. With that said, the woke bs has reached Puerto Rico and I am glad I graduate this semester. I wouldn't recommend uni to anyone who doesn't need it, trade schools seem way better and I have never heard anyone that studied in one regret it.

I worked all my life and when I married was the main provider of income while my wife took care of the house and children; when I retired, finally she came to me with a list of half the house chores that she expects me to do, so I wrote a list for half of all the yard work (full spectrum), vehicle maintenances, home and yard repairs etc., well, it took a month or so before we compromise, I'll do all of what I originally did and help with you with house chores, even some grocery shopping which I hate. We'll be celebrating our 47-wedding anniversary in a few months. For those that want a long marriage, compromise, teamwork and knowing when you are wrong.
What compromise? You just agreed to do some of the things she wanted you to while she didn't have to do any of the things you mentioned. Thats not a compromise.

But I did distinguish between profanity and obscenity, and pretty much eliminated the former.
-- Over the past couple of decades, I have noticed a new kind of vulgarity growing-- the use of "literally" and "absolutely" for emphasis when what was being said was neither literally nor absolutely true. These words, when used properly, are specific to situations where one is stepping outside of practical, concrete language to comment on the way one is using language, and this new kind of vulgarity is far more damaging to our means of making sense than using sexual or scatological words for emphasis. The people who misuse these words generally believe that all truth is subjective, so their minds are fried already. So yeah, "STFU!" and walking away is probably the best response to them.

They also tend to be happier, healthier and more honest. Having been in the Infantry, I found that many of us were intelligent, we just didn't like being in boring jobs. That's why we chose to be on the front lines. Maybe not the most reasoned and intelligent of decisions, but many of us wanted more action. My mother picks our kids up from school and if it’s my day to cook, my wife loads the dishwasher, and if it’s her turn, then I load the dishwasher and empty it. I spent nearly 21 years in the US Navy Submarine Force, and this country no longer represents the values I grew up with and defended the country for. I really pity those that are true patriots and have to serve in the military today. When the next war comes, and I believe that it will be sooner rather than later, I am not at all sure how we can sustain ourselves and fight a large conflict. I remember when my brain first came online.
I was three years old, we had just moved to a new city and it was my first day at a daycare program.
I remember feeling scared and shy, but I just did what the nice lady said and went to the play room to meet the other kids.
The lady was showing off her indoor sandbox, big tub of water with boats, and other things to do.
All I saw was a kid licking sand off his hand, and another kid crying because he dropped his shoe in the water.
And that's when it it happened, my brain came online and all I could think was 'Oh My God... I am surrounded by morons!
I was no longer a sweet little boy, I couldn't be, I had seen too much.
I was now me, a cynical a**hole that navigates this world with the only sense i can truly trust; my sense of humor.

That was a terrible story. Thst poor kid worked his ass off to get their and some grown ass man got offended because he nervously laughed. They had put the kids pronouns as they/them without even asking him at the last tournament, and his friends were ribbing him for it lol. That's why he nervously laughed when asked.

Second. What "requirements" are you implying? Last time I looked at the requirements for a "Substitute teacher" it was a high school diploma. I remember the "teacher's edition" has all the answers to the questions in it. But that also assumes that they even bother with books. When my daughter was in school she didn't get the books that I was charged for because they "only have a class set" then they went to having a Chromebook and I was paying for that trash and their knowledgeless IT department. So requirements, be able to pass the class they are teaching...check. there is a lot more to bring to the table though, I'm going to actually look at the best interest of the child. So if a boy decides to pick up a barbie and play with it, I will NOT be saying that he needs to wear dresses and get bits chopped off. I will, however, watch to see what he does to be sure his interest is not a precursor to sexual assault practices. These simple acts among others are summed up in a rather taboo phrase today. That phrase is BEING AN ADULT. Class dismissed.

I worked all my life and when I married was the main provider of income while my wife took care of the house and children; when I retired, finally she came to me with a list of half the house chores that she expects me to do, so I wrote a list for half of all the yard work (full spectrum), vehicle maintenances, home and yard repairs etc., well, it took a month or so before we compromise, I'll do all of what I originally did and help with you with house chores, even some grocery shopping which I hate. We'll be celebrating our 47-wedding anniversary in a few months. For those that want a long marriage, compromise, teamwork and knowing when you are wrong.

I agree, but it's equity rather than equality that's the problem. Equality means treating everyone the same. Equity forces you to hire or admit a certain amount of certain races/orientations regardless of their abilities or qualifications. It's a common error, but a huge difference. 😊
