    What you did was wonderful Bjorn!
    In france, a tow truck on the highway is around 500E (5000 NOK), 500NOK for a tow truck seems very cheap.
    But please, don't stay on the side of the road on the highway this long, it's very dangerous.
    In france, recommendations are, that, when stranded on the side of the highway you must stay on the grass, as far as possible (there are fences 10m away) from the road, because, the risk of a car colision is very high.
    Play it safe, we don't want you to get injuried, or worse...

    I absolutely love my i3. It will only go 82 miles but I also carry an Ecoflow with me. I've never had to use it and I can charge my i3 at work, for free. So I went from $400 in gasoline a month to paying zero. I do not nor did I want the extender motor. This car is absolutely perfect for commuting and running errands, only.
    Funnily enough I have a Land Rover Defender 110 that has been armored...so the vehicles I have are diametric in almost every way. It's too bad the i3 did not catch on with more people. I think it's cool looking, but to each their own.
    Great little video regarding assistance and the realities of life. : )

    • @jackdotblue
      @jackdotblue 17 дней назад

      @@briana4812 Delta Pro 3, now. It was the Pro 2 before. I have solar panels on my house (here in Central Oregon) as I own a whole house system from Ecoflow; I have a stack of 8 whole home back up Pro Ultras as I am not on the grid. I also have a Rogue Echo Bike hooked up to a dynamo that also charges the batteries. I also have wind power that does the same. My house is half underground, half topside. I built it myself. I'm sort of a fanatic when it comes to being off grid now...Before, I was living in Bellingham WA on the side of a fancy hill and while I enjoyed some of my neighbors, I realized that the future is more than likely going to be a bit different than we were sold as kids. I'm 57 so these 60 acres, my wife, two cats, a dog and myself (3 grown daughters) are done with normal, every day society. It was nice while it lasted. : )
      I have 15 batteries (total; a few River Pros scattered about) from EcoFlow with their entire system installed in my garage...which is also underground. My wife drives a Tesla Model X Plaid and I also have the Tesla Cyberbeast...the pick up. I know, I know...I'm a dumbass, but it's also the 'car' I was drawing as a 10yr old boy...and I mean that. I found drawings that I drew as a kid, because when I first saw it I thought "wait, I recognize that!" lol It does more than people might believe and it's easy to make fun of, but a joy to drive.
      But my favorite is still the i3...out of all our fancy cars the i3 speaks to me in a way that I can't describe. It's like being a kid again and being allowed to take the Go-Cart out of the arena and into the street! I do wish it had longer range and I don't always bring my ecoflow w/me, but for just jetting around town, it's perfect. I've been thinking seriously of having it retrofitted with a different battery...I've been talking to a guy in Germany who thinks he can get one in there that'll go 500miles. I don't know about that, but we shall see.
      Be careful w/yours though, I've heard the battery will start dying pretty much on schedule...right at 8yrs old. Which unfortunately is right about now. New batteries (there are 8 in a i3) costs around 20k, which I think is worth it as it's really just like buying a new car that isn't very costly. This includes replacing auxiliary parts, labor and modules. My guy in Germany said it'd be 20k for his battery alone...then shipping and installation. So it'd end up being around 30k, but again...I think that's worth it. Especially if he's going to quadruple my distance. He works for Liacon, which when I told him about the lexicography regarding his companies' name, he didn't understand at first. Imagine an American company called 'Liacon'...or 'Liar-Con'...He's German, so they don't laugh. : )
      I've had too much coffee today...apologies for the extended message, I get excited talking about this stuff.
      If you have any other questions, especially about living off grid, I'm kind of a pro at it now. Let me know and have a blast w/your i3!

    Norway is a good place for something like that happening. In Germany, he or she would be told to drive home slowly after the car being charged for 30 minutes, they think slowly means 130 and a little over never hurts, so you see them thank you and leaving with kick down and getting stranded again after 2 km going 140 km/h. Can't believe the confusion in other people's eyes telling them that we stick to going 80 on the Autobahn in our eNV200. Some even say that it's impossible, we prove them otherwise. Same mentality apllies to Tesla drivers charging to 100 % on free Lidl DC chargers (and wasting their own and other people's time) just to leave the site with kickdown and getting rid of 2% soc in an instant...

      @AsekiBekovy 2 года назад +1

      @@-s3m- With a 24 kWh Nissan, you are always low on battery. We have the Evalia since 13 months and always stick to exactly 80 (GPS) when not overtaking. Autobahn area here is a hellhole anyway, everybody is slowing each other down. Trucks that need to overtake will be faster than the allowed 80 and that's plainly illegal. On a normal Autobahn, 80 is about as safe as it gets because others are so much faster that you will never be slowed down by anyone, while also going slow enough to allow weak vehicles to merge on without a hassle. 85-90 might still be ok consumption-wise in the eNV200, but it's still not fast enough to not be overtaken by most of the trucks. @ab-tf5fl 2 года назад +2

      Possibly. Although, if it's possible to use the tow truck's own engine as a diesel generator, it would probably be cheaper. The problem with the Ecoflow is that it costs several thousands of dollars, and for the tiny amount of diesel it would take to put 4 km of range into the car's battery, that up-front cost for the Ecoflow seems hard to justify.
      Eventually, when the tow trucks, themselves, become electric, the truck's own battery becomes the obvious power source. You could even imagine the truck hooking up to the stranded car like a DC fast charger and charging it at 50-100 kW. However, that world is probably decades away, and will require significant battery breakthroughs before it becomes economical.

      Bjørn, the car is physically unable to recognize whether it is driving a long distance downhill or is being pulled by another vehicle. The prerequisite, however, is that the electronics still function at the high-voltage level and the recuperation level is selected in such a way that the vehicle engine does not recuperate more power than is consumed when driving uphill. Usually. As a rule, recuperation level 2 is sufficient. In this case, the charging power is between 10 and 20 kW. It is technically irrelevant which type of drive motor the vehicle uses. Maybe you should make a video about it and also show the limits under which conditions active towing makes sense and when it doesn't make sense.

Secondly speed: the lower, the better, but remember about security, you cannot go 10kmh safely on the road, do probably the lowest in the city will be ~30kmh

    • @Humuku
      @Humuku 2 года назад +1

      @@nunoesteves4415 If you activate Eco Pro+ mode, the consumption at 90 km/h should be around 12 kWh/100km = 12 Wh/100m = 0,12 Wh/m which means the she should be able to drive at 90 km/h although I would not recommend it. The needed power is defined by rolling and air resistance. At 90 kW/h air resistance dominates a lot, so low speeds like 50 km/h will save energy, needed energy will be 0,068 Wh/m. I created a Wolframalpha-Link which one can use to input the characteristics of the car and it will then give you the power needed by physics for sustaining the given velocity. Unfortunately link posting is not allowed here. But the quintessence is, that for higher velocities the needed energy per second (called power) increases with the third power of the velocity.

    Luckily I was working on my project car that day and I had my Omnicharge Omni Ultimate powerbank with me and I used that powerbank to charge the car to 2% then at 5kmh force switch to the gasoline engine by removing the fuse from the controller and causing a false positive electic engine fault because on older Prius models didn't had the option to force switch into "petrol mode" by pressing the start/stop button 4 times.
