    I have the same experience from my Highland LR. Been driving it in 3 heavy snow storms 340 km mainly in 110-120 on Swedish highways in proper hard conditions. One time the road was totally untouched because I drove nighttime so no snow was taken away by the road trucks. Still the car gave back consumption figures around 180 kwh/100 km. So happy I did buy a Tesla because the efficiency is unprecedented. Looking at your channel with all Tesla driving in different conditions and even staying in the car in absolutely freezing condition made the choice easy when I turned from fossil to EV. Thanks for a great channel and all the job you put into creating good and informative videos.

      It must've been 18 kWh/100 km, 180 Wh/km. Good that someone confirms the results of the others.
      Nowadays there are all kinds of tests/statistics of how EVs perform in the so-called reality. It must be of great help for people choosing one or another EV. Comments are actually quite important, and often give interesting information.

      Your 18.0kWh/100km is in line with the El Prix winter tests Results. But it isn't just Tesla that makes efficient cars, the Model 3 was beaten by the BYD Dolphin, the Ioniq 6, the MG4 long range, the Opel Astra, The Peugeot E-308 and was slightly ahead of the Kona Electric, Polestar 2 and the ID.7. So there are plenty of options for people looking for efficient cars despite the oft repeated claims that Tesla is 5 years ahead of competition. The other important number is average charge speed (rather than the headline max rate) and here Tesla Model 3 came in well below average with a similar charge speed to the cheap MG4 and well below direct competitors such Polestar 2, Ioniq 6 and the ID.7. Again, Tesla led in charge speed has more than been competed away despite the boasts of high max charge rates..

The tests, done i south of France, was on mountain roads and proved faily high consumption. I believe Bjørn will have a very comfortable ride to Hensemdal in the ID7 but it will not reach Jesheim on one charge, but maybe the extra weight will prove usefull downhill 😀

    Unfortunately the polestar was not preheated by the car but by an external heater. So the battery stayed cold. M3 used up the heat from battery instead. So no wonder M3 had less consumption. Nice that it has not some kind of adaptive light function. Looking forward to a test.

    Test the Fisker Ocean with everything, 1000 km challenge, winter test, charge test in winter with and without preheating (if it can preheat).
    But the Ocean needs the New 2.0 software update first of course.
    You can also test old Tesla S 100d or raven (i suggested it before) now that they charge faster.
    Is it a good buy, wintertest, charge with preheat, 1000 km id it much better now etc.

      even the old 3 got matrix lights, just the segment count is different so it should work fine. The only reason why it might take longer is the hardware3 cameras, maybe the lower resolution makes it harder to work proper

    Hi @Bjorn, I have a question.Which supercharger can I use for my Tesla Model 3 2024 LR, V2 or V3? My advisor, upon delivery of my car said that when I go to the supercharger I should use the same charging cable I use on my home Tesla wallconnector. Assuming only V2 have that cable, I'm confused. Thank you!

    • @ArnaudContet
      @ArnaudContet 2 месяца назад

      You can use either, but you will use the CCS cable (with the 2 DC pins below the round type 2).
      DC fast charging over the round Type 2 plug (the AC plug you have at home) only works with older Model S/X.

    If your carage is at around 8 degrees and Tesla warmed up battery to 35 degrees, it would be interesting to know how much energy it actually stored to battery as heat. And that also counts to the consumption, that energy needs to be paid. And did it actually use pure electric energy using motor coils or did it scavenge some heat from carage??

    • @antoniocirino8444
      @antoniocirino8444 3 месяца назад

      at least 7.2 kW for 15 minues, so 1.5-2 kWh.
      i don´t know reuse the heat of the battery to preheat the car.
      preheat the air inside is less inefficient thant battery or something solid?

    • @wocket42
      @wocket42 3 месяца назад

      @@antoniocirino8444 it certainly took longer than 15 minutes to heat up the big battery to 35 C.

    • @bullglar
      @bullglar 3 месяца назад

      I'd say it takes very very roughly about 250 Wh for every degree Celsius increased temperature of the battery (@8 degC ambient temp) . 7.2 kW for 20 minutes minus energy for heating the interior and the temp of the battery vent from 28 to 35. And yes it steals the heat from the garage because of the heat pump, which makes the calculation even more difficult. So to preheat the battery from 0 to 35 when the car is parked outside at 0 degC could take around 10 kWh.

      At 15F and an ice cold battery back (blue snowflake), my Model3 LFP did 430 wh/mi over the course of an hour highway drive. That's 52% of its rated efficiency. Obviously you should precondition prior for best range, but that comes across as free when it is paid.
