Hey Shaunteday, I'm a black American and I live in Dubai with my wife and son. She is Somali. Just to correct you on a few things. The Emirati women do not wear the burqa. They wear the hijab and the abaya. Emirati women do not cover their face usually. If you saw a woman who covered her face in Dubai, she was most likely from Saudi Arabia visiting. The burqa is what they wear in ultra conservative places like Afghanistan or some parts of Pakistan.
Juwar1974 Thank you Juwar1974 for the corrections. I appreciate your feedback. I researched much of my information online and also asked people in Dubai. Thanks to you I now have more information to pull from.
You seem like such a nice person and you speak with such eloquence. I love your tips and I enjoyed my last trip to the max. Keep travelling hon and keep posting. Love you and Subscribed
I think its really sweet that you felt our clothing was nice. I love wearing the burka and hijab. :) I also like seeing men in thobes, very modest culture.
Shaunte Thank you for your sharing your experience. I went there in 2010 with female friend luckily we were not asked for marriage certificate. We were lucky that we didn't get arrested
I'm glad you had a good time . I've been to some fabulous places , if you ever get a chance , go to Killarney Ireland area , some of the most beautiful scenery you could imagine .
n2o4me Hello n204me. Thank you for visiting my channel and for the wonderful recommendation. This is such a coincidence, I am traveling to Ireland in July, but I had only planned to go to Dublin, thanks to your recommendation I'll try to add Killanery too. Ireland is beautiful and I can't wait to go :0).
I find Dubai to be very progressive. I saw gay couples at the Marina Mall and have never ran into a situation where I needed a marriage cert to get a room with a woman. Within the metro area I didn't find many restrictions. As she said Jumeriah Beach (JBR) is flooded with tourist and expats so its a lot like being anywhere else in the west.
Love your vid's! just a little Mall info, Mall of America is the largest Mall in the USA so perhaps that is what you were thinking , prior to the 1992 opening of MOA, King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania *my home state* :D was the largest USA mall since 1963 and in just a few short months sometime in 2016 "King of Prussia Mall will once again become the largest US Mall. As for the largest mall in the "World" if you go by* total area *Dubai mall is the largest in the world but if you by "gross leasable area" The largest in the World is New south China Mall and Dubai drops to # 5. lol sorry I just love stats and shopping. :) Maybe this info will become useful if ever on a game show. lol
+Beth Corlee Hello Beth! I am happy you enjoyed my videos :0). Thank you for this wonderful information regarding the past, present and future largest mall in America as well as the largest mall in the world based on "gross leasable area." I love it!!!!
You really should go, I am often nervous before I travel, but, I just go anyway and I am always glad I did. One thing that helps is having a schedule of the things you plan to do. This way you are focused on your events. Good luck to you!
Hello. I did not party there, I am really on in to sightseeing and learning about the history and culture. I have heard there are nice lounges and clubs, but I can't confirm this for sure, try googling some of the hot spots there.
I like to see people of color traveling too :0). This is why I make videos, to encourage people to travel and try to remove some of the fears people may have. The world is a beautiful place and so are the people in it! :0)
