@@andrealuna1048 Yes, it's still available. People haven't stopped traveling. You just have to protect yourself the same you will while wherever you live. Covid is everywhere, so traveling doesn't make it worse. You can contract covid anywhere. The majority of people who get covid aren't protecting themselves. That comes from ICU nurses in television interviews. Those people weren't even wearing masks, and the ones who did only wore them occasionally and had some cheap mask on as thin as a paper towel.
She is right about studying abroad. I studied abroad my junior year of college also and I was able to travel to over 10 countries in Europe. It's a lot cheaper than people think and I didn't have that much money either.
I use the skyscanner app for tip #1. In June I went to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and loved it. I didn't plan on going to Malaysia but the plane ticket from Thailand was only $34! I couldn't miss that deal and I'm so glad I went. Thanks for the tips!
That's pretty common price for Thailand to Malaysia actually. Fares like that are readily available so anyone looking to travel Southeast Asia at pretty much anytime can enjoy those. AirAsia is my favorite and regularly have deals that drop the prices even lower.

@@karthigaiyan1 LOL You totally lost me. With all of this Covid and tense relations all over the Globe, for now I feel it is best to travel within the United States
38ktgold & Daneka Hillery, I'd guess the main reason is that aside from flowers, pineapples, surfboards and swimsuits, everything has to be brought by either plane or ship, since they're 2000 miles SW of CA. If your view of cutting corners is staying in a 4 star hotel instead of a 5, and eating 2 times a day at restaurants instead of 3, you're going to have an expensive stay. I recommend you try it. Like Alaska (which as you know, is also detached), it's amazingly beautiful.
HI is not expensive at all!!! I live in CA and this state is more pricey. 1 thing i recommend is buy your tickets ahead of time, not just for hawaii, newhere u go, when u search online search incognito that way travel sites wont record what ur looking 4. If u go in a group, take adavntage of the group discounts. Spend 2k on my Hawaii trip, airfare, hotel and all the spending money included, and i love adventure
I totally agree about the costly places! There are so many destinations that I would love to visit (including some in my home country of Australia) that I haven't done purely because it's too damn expensive! Your dollars stretch so much further if you're flexible about cheaper destinations. Fab video, Oneika!
I take one trip a year then the rest of my Money goes to my betterment retirement account because I refuse to work past 62 years of age irregardless of what government says, I WILL have my own stash to do whatever later but for now I’ll take one trip a year or a day trip somewhere but THATS IT🙋🏽♀️
Great video Oneika, as a travel vlogger myself I agree with all the tips you have mentioned, I'd also add traveling in non-peak seasons also make it more economical love your videos!
Hey, I'm from New Zealand! And yes the cost of tickets, they are crazy expensive haha. The only way to get to New Zealand with a cheap flight would be to come here from Australia or the Pacific Islands. Hopefully you'll travel to New Zealand one day :) Thanks for the video, it's very inspiring :)
Backpacking New Zealand right now. If you come from the United States with savings before, it’s not too bad actually. If you use the country’s currency, yes it will be more expensive. However, with USD, it’s a lot cheaper because the US dollar is worth more. Also, a lot of people do the camper van dwelling that makes it cheaper as well. The tickets are expensive, but once you’re here, you’re already here! That’s the hardest part. The plane flights within New Zealand are even better. Depending on when you buy, a plane ticket to another city can be at cheapest around $20-30 and at most maybe $100. A ticket in the states from another city is like $300. I will say the cheapest way to fly is to do it from a port closer to that side of the country. I do L.A. It’s also another opportunity for another mini trip. Anything on the west coast really will work.
Flexibility is the key and Skyscanner. You will be amaze on how you can country hop for less than $50 when you are over the other side. Sometimes when your flexible international will be cheaper than flying domestic. I went to Europe $400 rountrip. Once I was there flew into France the next Day for very cheap!!
Adjusting the lifestyle that is key...the "how" is the question. Some people have full time jobs or don't know what is right for them to be able to travel this often. And with small kids forget it unless you have amazing support and can leave them.
Oneika, do you always go overseas, or have you also seen the USA, which is, in my opinion, the most scenicly diverse country in the world. I've been to 56 countries, but I've also been to all 50 states. Where else can you go and find polar bears and manatees, moose and alligators all in 1 country? I know many foreign visitors go home drooling over our amazing national parks.
Can you share more with the time part? as far as people with work schedule and certain seasons? and also where you find your hotels. And about the paid traveling because of travel blogging. I am one of those solo travelers as well.
I went to Australia and from there getting to New Zealand was really cheap, Using VPN saying you are buying tickets from Australian Carrier you save money
Hi Ms. Oneika, Soo... I recently discovered your channel because I have a Caribbean Travel Playlist & your video "How I Afford To Travel So Much | Tips and Tricks" showed up in my Recommended RUclips videos list. I stopped to view & listen to your content. Fast forward... I looked at a few of your other videos. O_O All I gotta say is: "You-THAT-girl." You speak very well, you're smart, you're purdy, & Good-Gosh-Almighty... You're a Canadien-Yardie-Gyurl !! What's not to like about this lady? I'm subscribing :-)
I have something like 23 visited countries, some are rather large. Visa costs are always a hard expense, quite a few countries have literally an entrance fee. As you can guess, those also happen to be some really great countries. I have slept in all crazy places, basically like a homeless person.
These places you are paid to go to, is that through random companies that contact you or did you go to a certain website to find these companies? I'm in the same situation of not having any responsibilities or anything keeping me here, and I REALLY want to travel full-time. The only problem is finding these companies that pay you to travel. Can you please steer me in the right direction with finding companies like this? I would very much appreciate it. And thank you so much for this video. It was such an inspiration to see someone who is actually doing EXACTLY what I want to be doing in life:)
I'm not sure whether you are here in the U.S. or in Toronto (you mentioned that city in your other video), but go on airfarewatchdog.com and put in the city pairs that you want, such as Toronto the Auckland. It will notify you when the fares drop to that destination. I use it all the time for international and domestic travel. You had a good point in telling your audience that you have to be flexible in order to get the good prices.
i am indian travel to thailand and malaysia 2016 and in 2015 United Arab Emirates. but i do not have such cheap travel experience from india with the operator like thomas cook, flight shop etc.
One other thing to be cognizant of is being fortunate to be Canadian. This means that there are many places you can visit without needing a visa. However what tips are there for those of us from countries that require visas to visit most places? And our currencies are weaker than yours? Just don't travel...?
Are you a flight attendant? For me it seems that for an average person like me becoming a flight attendant would be the only way to travel the world over for free and stay i n the best of hotels!!! The flight attendant vlogs on you tube attest to that. You may have noticed that gazillion young pretty boys and girls have their vlogs on you tube and talk about all the fun times they have. I am also happy to know that airlines are now hiring lots of people of color which they did not as openly in years past!! Once again thank you for your info!!
great vid thanks! tip: invest in a external mic and you'll be able to avoid having videos with background echo/noise! - it can be a bit confusing listening to it.
Not drinking is definitely a big money saver! Much better to use that money for travel 😁
I use Google flights and then use the section called "Explore Destinations". Amazingly cheap flights.
