    Beautiful job, I love the slat detail and recycled plastic slates look like a great option.

    Very nice finish to the build and very professional video presentation you should have a slot on a tv show Simon better than most of the presenters you see on these programes. 👍👍👍

    Very Very nice and Great explanation of the work done.
    The Only thing that lets the Look down is the sliding French doors and blinds. Paint them black, ditch the blinds and That finishes the corner of that house off Beautifully!
    Great job 👏🏾 👏🏾

      They are not sliding French Windows, they are Bifold and the blinds are necessary as the sun still shines on the bottom half of the window first thing in the morning. Thanks for your observations. The homeowner.

      @@collywobbles3869 oh Bugger! I’ve caused offence and I didn’t mean too. I’m an idiot!
      From what I can see, you have a Beautiful home (not that it’s my business) and Far nicer than mine. I have sliding French doors which I Hate. I must have been venting my Own personal distaste about mine. 😊
      Please accept my apologies

      No offence taken. I was just clarifying what the windows were and the reason for having vertical blinds. We do agree that the bifolds are not the most appealing on the market but were fitted to the house already and serve a purpose until we can replace them. I wholeheartedly recommend Simon’s work. It has transformed the back of our house and the workmanship is 1st class.

    Simon, would that tongue and groove wood be OK to be the only roof (ie, not adding any additional material on top) if one wanted to do a roof like this for less money?

    • @simonbowler1
      @simonbowler1  10 месяцев назад

      Not really, it’s not watertight on its own

      I don't give out prices I'm afraid, mainly for my clients privacy but if you need any more info feel free to get in touch directly and I'll help if I can.

    I want to do this in exactly the same set up. But I have a downpipe (soil pipe) in the inner corner. Do you have any ideas on how to accomodate that?

    • @simonbowler1
      @simonbowler1  5 месяцев назад

      The only thing I can think of is to obviously construct the roof around it and use some kind of flashing kit if such a thing is available. I’ve never done it myself

    Very low pitch. How low can that product go? Most slate manufacturers these days have raised their minimum pitch requirements to 23° and even 25° in some cases. Looks great though. I'd love to get into oak framing!

      These are composite and have been designed to go to a much lower pitch 👍
