    You are a young guy so you can use the lug nut breaker bar, but for us old farts, this kit is excellent! Hard for me to get up and down and hard to use small stock breaker bar to loosen and tighten lug nuts so I like the impact wrench. I saw this impact wrench tested on nuts way over torqued….180 pounds and it worked fine to remove them. Also, you only let it wind up once and hit it….you should let it wind up and hit, repeatedly! Especially for tightening the nuts back on! I bought the one without the air compressor, and I like the kit a lot….a 74 yr. old guys review of your review! Well worth the money when your stuck out on the highway.

      I agree Mike he only pulled the trigger once on the impact to tighten the lug nut. I'm sure it would have tightened it to 100ft pounds and higher had he pulled the trigger more than once.

      @@dannycolemire2652 Our Honda CRV calls for only 80 foot pounds for the lug nuts. I find that not good enough as I've found them looser after some driving. I do carry a large torque wrench in the vehicle so I can set it to 90 foot pounds. That works.
      So this electric thing would be work.
      However, if I had this kit, I would only use it to remove the nuts. Not to tighten them. The wrench is for that.
      And no, I'm not a young'n. LOL
      The wrench is a larger one so tightening isn't an issue.

    The electric wrench would work well for older folk, women, teen girls, or physically impaired individuals. I bought similar kits for several of the senior citizens, women, and teen girls in our church. I also taught them to properly use them. The two things I would ADD to the kit is a collapsible wheel chock and pencil type air gauge. Concerning the window break/seat belt cutter; it's there to be used on someone else's car. You never know when you may come upon a wrecked vehicle and you need to extricate someone. Think of others before yourself. Same reason everyone should carry a first aid/trauma kit and fire extinguisher in their car; for the other guy.

    The jack is an interesting gadget, but the Mustang is immaculate underneath! Wow!

    I wish I had bought one of these months ago. I had a flat tire yesterday. The county had been salting the roads. I couldn't see the road and hit a curb at 34 mph. The speed limit was 40 mph. The front tire on the passenger's side had a blowout. It took me two hours to put on the spare tire with the flimsy car jack that the dealer had included. It was 20 degrees outside. Fortunately, there was a coffee shop near me. That electric impact wrench would be great for anyone who can't use a regular lug nut wrench. It does take quite a bit of force to loosen a lug nut. The air compressor would be great for filling the spare tire with air. The spare tire usually needs air too.

    I disagree about the power wrench not needed (maybe not to change a wheel) but a million other things could go wrong where it could help, particularly off road. Thanks Steve.

    Great review! Very concise and thorough. I was thinking the same thing about the window breaking hammer. I guess a guy could just toss that in the glove box or center console. The lug nut wrench looks weird, but was really impressive. Thanks for all of your efforts with putting out great content!

    Most car insurance companies do include roadside assistance. You do have to pay an extra $70 to $150 a year for that. They can jump-start a dead battery for you. They can replace your punctured tire if you have a spare tire in the trunk of your car. Otherwise, the vehicle will have to be towed to the nearest tire repair shop. I've only had two flat tires that needed to be replaced immediately. A person can usually fill a flat tire with a sealant like Fix-A-Flat and repair the tire.

    • @ThisWeekWithCars
      @ThisWeekWithCars  Год назад +1

      Every car is different, it will fit under a this mustang if the tire was flat, won't fit under my Triumph TR4 race car, you have to decide if it works for your car.

  • @parrotraiser6541
    @parrotraiser6541 Год назад

    What's the lowest height under which it will fit? Jacking under the suspension of the flat corner saves a lot of lifting. (You don't have to exhaust the suspension travel to lift the wheel.)

    The hammer is to help others the impact is a nice touch especially when you're wife or kids or older folks who have the know how but can't physically do a lug wrench or breaker bar anymore but the jack is a little out there with the air compressor the should be separate just because of weight other than that it cool

    I actually like the idea of having an all-in-one kit neatly stored in a single case. Snide remarks re being a sissy, or a Gen Z aside, for $60. more, I think complete kit would make sense for most people. Who wants to be futzing around on the shoulder of a busy highway in the dark, in the rain, searching for, then wrestling with a conventional lug wrench when you could R&R lugs so easily? Of course, it's undoubtedly all made of chinesium, so life span is anybody's guess.

    • @ThisWeekWithCars

    Knowing the maximum height the jack can reach is good to know. But how about the minimum height? Does it fit under low vehicles (e.g. MGB, Triumph, etc)? Especially when it has a flat tire is it very low to the ground.

  • @roycarter6235

    I wonder if the air compressor and the jack share the same motor with a solenoid switching between either option. The review was very thorough..... thanks. I was sceptical about buying one. I do long trips in outback Australia. I agree about the extra bits. I carry a breaker bar as an essential item in my vehicles. The electric rattle gun was impressive but I would not actually use it. Same for the window breaker/ seat belt cutter. Thanks for the review. I will probably get one before my next trip. I do like the air compressor. I wonder what its maximum psi is.

    • @ThisWeekWithCars
      @ThisWeekWithCars  Год назад +1

    So, you've had this for over a year now.
    Have you used it often and if so, is it still working fine?
    I ask because I'm interested in one of these, BUT, I've seen so many reviews that say they last 4-5 uses then just fail. Which, if the fail is when the vehicle is raised up, could be a problem.
    How has it been?

    WARNING!!! this jack and all similar ones are all falsely rated. they CANNOT lift 5 tons..(some say 3 tons) other videos on here show max lifting capacity is about 3900 lbs (less than 2 tons) beware these are marketed under several different names. they can hold 5 tons if you use it as a jack stand but stall out trying to lift closer to 2 tons.
    see user project farm for actual load testing
