Steve that cars absolutely gorgeous inside and out phenomenal job. I hope you have some footage of it running around the racetrack can't wait to see that keep up the good work love all your content
Great series of videos. It takes me back to my teenage years of messing around with A series engines. I bought and read every page of Dave Vizard's "Tuning the A-Series Engine" - it still has pride of place on my bookshelf! Watching this video, it looks like you might still have fuel pump issues as that filter bowl didn't fill up at all while the engine was running.
Excellent Steve, glad to see the engine we built fired up with good oil pressure. We were honored to be part of the project. You have done a wonderful job with these cars.
Glad you're posting more often.. I'd like to see the content last a little longer that the 11-12 minutes you've been releasing. 15-20 minutes episodes would wack the nail on the head.
I'm in awe of your calmness when going through the start up, its the confidence you know it will start. Still, I'm impressed. have a good trip, look forward to video of the meet on return.
You have a very laid-back, logical, systematic way of finding and solving problems Steve. Working on cars, especially modified, old cars, can be pretty stressful and can sometimes even make for stressful viewing. That doesn't seem to happen when you're wrenching and the whole process becomes quite therapeutic.👍👌😁 The Sprite is looking, and sounding, fantastic ~ great job so far.
That's a lot of oil pressure at cranking speed. Is the pressure relief actually working? Not unknown for them to stick on A series engines. Edit - I see it settled down once it ran, probably was stuck initially.
This is a really fascinating car you've built! I'm sorry to have joined the journey so close to the finish line, but at least that means I can go through your old videos to catch up! Best of luck with the final fettling and fine tuning :)
My worry would be the rear end, having owned a Morris Major some years ago and breaking rear axles as the back end appeared to be Morris Minor, the parts man told me that the part number was different to that of the Minor but I have my doubts. The Majpr,Lancer and Wolseley variants were all based on the Minor platform. The body may be too narrow to put in an MGB Rear end.
If you could find some clear tubing to slide over the fittings and into a drain pan to see when the oil arrives at the fitting. Keep oil from running all over the engine compartment.
Maybe you dont need one ( I dont know), or want one, but you are missing a hose clamp on the hose that is going to the top of your valve cover. Also.. had a 67 MGB that had a similare shift knob.
Very nice frogeye sprite! Supercharger makes it extra special. Do they make super chargers for MGBs? I would love to put one in mine to give it some extra punch.
Very nice Steve. Speedwell Blue ? One of our customers often drove his supercharged Mk 3 from Birmingham down to Teignmouth (200miles ) for a weekend break and there are several Shorrock Frogeyes in this area . So is this yours or for a client ? It is top drawer but we wouldn't expect anything less from you ! Thanks Steve.
Question, I need a ign headlight switch just like the one in the Sprite, any ideas where I can get a new one? My 1959 Hillman Minx has the same switch. Mine broke. Thx
My thought too! Although maybe the sprite one is different. Anyway, knowing about chokes just shows our age. Despite being able to drive, my children had no idea about chokes; which made their attempts to start the lawnmower interesting, especially when dad came along and stated it first pull of the cord!
@@ParaBellum2024 Nice there was a picture I saw with a young girl on the phone to her dad exclaiming "Daddy there are 3 pedals and I only have two feet, what do I do "
That is the coolest Sprite I've ever seen.Your mechanical skills are second to none!!!!
Really nice Frog Eye Sprite one of the best I've seen in a long time.
That is so cool. Need to hear it at full chat. :D

Thanks for taking the time and the care to get these old clunkers back to life. I need to go back now and look at the earlier videos!
You have skills my man.
So cool to watch you breathe life into these old cars. All the best, looking forward to the next one.
Cheers 🍻👍👌
i realize Im pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online ?
@Emmitt Parker Flixportal :D
@Rowan Cade Thank you, signed up and it seems to work :D Appreciate it!
@Emmitt Parker Glad I could help :)

I bought that book when I bought my first Sprite 20 years ago.
Been trying to get a copy of that book for a while now, keep missing my opportunity.
Found it, bought it. Didn't realize it was still available new.
Yes he was always considered as the ultimate mini tuning guru back in my mini days in the early seventies. Great times 😊🇬🇧
Love the smell of a fresh new engine right after it’s started!
... nice bit of kit. Much more civilized than the Judson Supercharger (Noise Maker) that I had on my MGA.
Excellent. Can't wait to see her in action (driving up and down a road or on a track, whatever.)
I have never seen this setup before, really nice. Can't wait to see how this car drives.
An absolute work of art.
Bingo!
I love seeing old cars come back to life. Keep the videos coming please.
You're doing a great job with the Sprite. More videos of it please.
It looks like the supercharger as big as the engine! Sweet.

That is a masterpiece.
Can't be a British Car if there are no pools of oil under the car. Thanks for a great series
Such a happy face on this car.

Very cool car. Awesome attention to detail.

Beautiful job. Amazing how much oil. Haven't seen a Healey bug eye in a long time. Thanks!!
Bad ass! 🤘

Beautiful car
Beautiful appearance and attention to Detail !
Great job Steve, wish I was in the US,
would love to see and hear it running in race conditions.
As always verry understandable. Always a pleasure to watch.
Great job looks real nice, greeting from the U.K. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
This is a very cool project.
that is the most awesome sprite i have ever seen
That was pretty sweet to hear it fire up for the first time ! Must feel satisfying Steve! 👍🇨🇦
Great channel!
The episode featuring your father was wonderful.
Wow, that dash looks very vintage military inspired, really cool.

As an Austin Healey Sprite owner I wish I'd known about the Conclave. So close to me. I could show up to enjoy the car show.
Car show is on the 19th, should be worth a day trip if nothing else!
@@live_in_a_propriety568 I could make that
ALL mechanics should be as deliberate as you. I love that you assume nothing.
What a Great Car!! 👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
Nice setup Steve. Like the cold air intake, but I couldn't see how the aluminum box seals up against the hood?
I had a Halda, in 1980! Datsun 1600 D510
Sounds like a beast!
congrats on reaching 50k subs!
That is a nice clean car, bet it is fun to drive.
Maybe you dont need one ( I dont know), or want one, but you are missing a hose clamp on the hose that is going to the top of your valve cover. Also.. had a 67 MGB that had a similare shift knob.
I look forward to seeing it in person at Big Bear!

Great little car... does it have a taller back axle ratio ?
Rad little car Steve!
Tach might be a little off lol. Beautiful car, bet it's a blast.
Edit* oh you mentioned It at the end.
Engine sounds nice and aggressive.

FWIW Steve: it’s a “Shor-rock” blower not a “Show-rock”
Great video thanks
Very cool !
Vastly builds , and you should get together one day for a build , he could learn a lot from your way of doing things.
As Steve noted it does have a different sound to it. It sounds mature with a deeper voice.
Sounds sooooooooooo nice!!
Have a great time at the MG gathering in Ca.
Is the Shirac better than the Judson supercharger that was used back in the day?
Are you planning on starting it soon?
Is it just a single SU carburetor? If so, what size and is it the original size for that engine?
Is this a limited factor spec? Or is this a private modification?
Good looking car! Very clean. BTW Us Brits call it a "Shorrocks" super charger, not a "Shor-rocks"...(just sayin')
Question, I need a ign headlight switch just like the one in the Sprite, any ideas where I can get a new one? My 1959 Hillman Minx has the same switch. Mine broke. Thx
same color as my Dinky toy Sprite.....I'd rather have your Sprite than any other car ever made !
948 or 1275 with that supercharger on it?
Need the obligatory clothes peg for the choke knob lol
Looks super tidy!
I assume that the fan doesn’t block more air than it moves?
IF my memory serves me, with the choke you should pull it and then twist it, that locks it in position. FYI BEAUTIFUL ENGINE BAY
My thought too! Although maybe the sprite one is different. Anyway, knowing about chokes just shows our age. You can park that at house if you like. 😊
Fantastic, such wonderful work.
For those desiring to see the previous video, here it is: ruclips.net/video/Fn246BwPamc/видео.html. Hope this helps.
What kind of regulator is that? Can you send me the link to buy that ??
Looks like a Malpassi Filter King.
@@peterknight4692 thanks mate. Hope I can find it
What did you do with the datsun
Wow, pretty engine bay.
And install a steering wheel...
Supercharger's almost as big as the engine!
sounds like an airplane engine to me
👍🏻
I think I know how this works now
I'm looking to buy one to sit next to my hundred. They've skyrocketed in value. Ugh. Still, I'm looking.
that supposed new starter motor sounds absolute trash ye gads that is scrap needs to be replaced .
With so much oil in areas outside of the crankcase, how do you change oil? Do you pump it out with the external pump?
