Just so you know - I am a Kiwi and here in New Zealand Rugby is the National Sport and almost a religion - children start playing Rugby at 4 years old. Our All Blacks team (Men) were the greatest in the world for 20 years or more our Black Ferns (Women) were best in the world for 16 years and both are still ranked 3rd in the world and we will be back in 1st place again sooner or later (the country's beating us hired Kiwi coaches). For a country of only 5 million people that's an amazing record and means we are something special when it comes to rugby. We had in our ranks the Greatest Rugby player OF ALL TIME - His name was Jonah Lomu - sadly gone too soon - he passed away age 40 in 2015. He is well worth watching. His funeral was also recorded and is here on RUclips and was really something - he was so beloved by the whole country.
My 16 year old daughter has been playing rugby for 8 years. 5 of them were coed. Fun game to watch. She likes to throw shade at the boys playing football because they wear pads and can move the ball by passing forward. Rugby is mostly ground game. Also cracks her up when boys will tell her that there's no way she could play against them. She'll get into the game and lay them out. She's 5'8" and 125lbs and mostly leg. Don't let her see a hole in the lobe cause she'll break through and score a try on you.
God bless her, good for her. I'm in the UK and I always look at American football as being like rugby for softies😂 also baseball looks quite like a game we have here called Rounders which is mainly played by schoolgirls and Girl Guides😂 I do love that your daughter is excelling in rugby, have a lovely week and stay safe❤

Rugby started at Rugby School England , however you could say it started centuries before in England when 2 rival villages got together and threw a ball into the mass crowds and the objective was to get it into a goal at one of 2 ends of the village , however this did get banned by the monarch/govt of the time as there were quite a few deaths and no real rules ....
Man you need to check out AFL - Australian Football, its unlike anything you've ever seen. IMO the best game ever. There's a great video - What is AFL - Aussie Rules Explained. There's a Texan named Mason Cox who came over to Oz to play, There's also a video about him. "Don't believe in never." The guys who play AFL are some of the fittest men you'll ever see
We had to play it at school as part of the winter sports rotation (the cold made it hurt even more). I wasn't too bothered about playing it until I saw a student get his leg snapped in half. From then onwards, I wanted no part in it 😅
Boxing with gloves is supposed to be alot more hazzardous than bare-knuckle because you can hit for longer (increasing the chance of a leathal hit) without breaking the bones in your hands. Which isnt to say that the phychology of bare-knuckle fighters isnt terrifing.
It should be noted that not all of those hits were within the laws of the game, for example, the was a blatantly high tackle early on. Something you might appreciate is a video about one of the people who has to make sure those giants stick to the rules. A video clip about Nigel Owens would be good.
Nigel didn't put up with any shit. He could and did make the largest, most brutal players quake with fear. There are a few videos out there that feature him.
There are two types of Rugby, Rugby League which is mostly played in the east coast of Australia, the South Pacfic and northern England, and the Rugby Union which is a world game after football is one of the bigger games on the planet. The Australian Rugby League will be playing 2 games in Las Vegas this march with 1 English League game as well and a woman game too. Russel Crowe( He owns an Australian Team south sydney Rabitohs) Does an explainer Video of Rugby League for American football fans
And what you don't realise these guys are playing 2 40 min half's no breaks , so straight endurance, unlike the nfl where you depend on gear like pads and helmet , in rugby and nrl and afl your body is your gear and you depend on skill and adrenalin
Rugby is a game for men which ever format Rugby League or Rugby Union. You need to take a look at Johna Lomu from the New Zealand all blacks. Like you zero pads and helmets NFL players couldn't handle the intensity of playing Rugby.
What makes rugby so tough isn't necessarily the lack of pads, it's the non-stop nature of the game. American football is a few seconds of play then a break and reset. Rugby the game is live with no break like football (soccer if you have to!). The players are getting thrown to the ground but then have to get back up again and in position to defend or support the attack. The stamina and cardio is off the chain and light years ahead of that of an American footballer.
Injuries are pretty rare. Mostly a few bruises. No pads or helmets to cause injury. These guys are super fit, and players of all shapes and sizes can play. Most forwards are 100 - 120 kg, (220 - 265 lbs) backs 80 .- 100kg in weight. (180 - 220 pounds) There are some pro players weighing in at 140 -150 kg. (310 - 330lbs). All have to be able to run and handle the ball. American football is tame by comparison. The USA has a rugby team....The All Blacks (New Zealand) put over 100 points on them a couple of years ago in Chicago.
You should react to Australian Rules Football! Its also played in US known as USAFL - played in lots of states! You'll have to watch intro vid first called "What is AFL?' you will love it
Should react to the Springboks Current world nr1 and current back to back world cup champions. Reactions to any of their players guarateed views. Traditionally the Allblacks or Springboks are the two best teams. Ireland, england, france also regularly up there. You can react to any of the above teams and it will be fire, i recommend starting with the springboks (youll gain follwers at a massive rate) then to the allblacks. Springboks (best defensive team - power and brutality) vs Allblacks (best attacking team - skill and flair) is one of the biggest rivalries in all sports. Kill each other on the field, but just respect mixed with few beers off the field.
if you think the tackles are bad in rugby you should see what our guys do ub australian rules footy or aussie rules, A spec ,ark will leave you speechless and yes they rackle as well. Think of rughy baskeyball volley ball and soccer combined and you will get the befinnibgs of aussie rules. Oh and a lot of the punters in professional americam football come from Aussie ru;es
Need to keep in mind about this video - much of the things happening you see has been collected over the last 30 yrs (this doesn't happen every game), and most of them resulted in penalties and/or life bans on the perpetrators. Watching Rugby, Rugby League, Aussie Rules Greatest Hits to get an understanding of the games is like watching racing's biggest crashes... to get a feel for driving. Just saying lol. Great to see your stunned reactions though!
I spelt Jonahs surname backwards!!!!. You should also check out Nigel Owens the fairest referee. He was so respected he was allowed to referee his own country of Wales in International games. He is now retired
Unlike in American football, in rugby there are no time-outs if someone gets hurt. They just keep on playing. This is why it's much superior to the American game - it's non-stop action.
🇿🇦Pegasus you need to watch the Springboks (🇿🇦South African Rugby National team) the greatest Rugby nation in the world 4 time current world Champions and #1 in the World I love Hip-Hop too by the way. Greetings🤝🏽💯 from Johannesburg 🇿🇦South Africa
You guys forget there’s like 6 popular football codes in the world: Association football (soccer) American football Australian football Gaelic football Rugby union Rugby league
There's Association Football and the rest that aren't popular in comparison. There are an estimated 3.5 billion fans of Association Football. I believe American Football is next with about 400 million.
There are two types of Rugby, Rugby Union and Rugby League. Rugby Union was played in the US, but they eventually changed the rules and it became American Football. Now it is closer to Rugby League. Both types are played all over the world.
@@rittherugger160 There are a handful of countries where it is played professionally, but International Rugby League has over 70 affiliate or member countries. It is the national sport of Papua New Guinea. It has a long tradition in France, Union was popular in the north and league was the preferred game of the south. It is played on every continent where you can find enough people to form two teams.
3:22 is super illegal. That defender was probably kicked out (sent off in rugby terms), and in Rugby you don't get to replace a sent off player. You gotta play a man down.
The number 5 in black, skelton is 6ft 8 and 320lbs and can run about 20mph. Yeahh no these dudes are seriously tuff. Yeah arms get snapped, fingers, necks, shoulders get dislocated, several people get ko'd in this clip alone. Tuff tuff dudes. You dont relise how big they are because all them are huge
A number of these tackles are illegal (if the tackler comes into contact with the head of the ball carrier, then it could be a sin bin for 10 minutes or removal for the rest of the game depending upon the severity of the infringement). The USA is hosting the Rugby World Cup in 2031 and the women's in 2033. Best team game in the world
You're only seeing the hits over lots of games. Its a tough game but hugely skillful. You need to watch the skill of the players. Brian O'Driscoll and Johnny Sexton both irish players. Jonah Lumo from New Zealand. Another grest
I spelt Jonah surname backwards😂. You should also watch Nigel Owens a class referee. Retired now but he was the only ref allowed to ref his own country of Wales because of his reputation for fairnesd
[Fix whatever's going on with your mic; you were muted for much of this video.] Oh, my friend - rugby is the GAME! I was introduced to the sport when I saw an ad in my college newspaper for the women's rugby team that was looking for players. Thinking it would be something cool and different to do that would be fun, one day, to tell people I'd done in my youth, I went to the practice and joined the team for a year. Loved the game, loved the culture around it, loved the people, loved the parties, loved the dirty songs sung at the parties...HATED all the running! I was an awful player (and I have a big varicose vein on my right shin from where a girl kicked me in a game once), but I still enjoy going to rugby games. I can still watch all the pretty boys running around on the field while having a few beers, and then go to the bar after the game and meet all the players! They're not interested in me "like that" anymore, but it's still fun! And as the big corporate sponsorship money has ruined football down to the college level and is now reaching into high school, rugby is the antithesis to that. Rugby league (the "professional" code; what most people play in college is rugby "union" with slightly different rules - most of what's shown in this video is league) in Australia and England is like the NFL is here. In the US, the players aren't usually paid and have to find sponsors in order to play on the team. They're playing for the love of the sport. To score a try (which is what a "touchdown" is called in rugby), you have to actually touch the ball to the ground in the end zone, not just cross the line like in football. When I used to write stories for a doctors' magazine, I did an article on the medical staff supporting my local rugby league team. Took one picture where the trainer was stitching up a nasty cut on a player's forehead, with blood everywhere, and he was sipping on a beer as she did it. The quintessential rugby photo!
Check out a video called "Top 10 Most Feared Rugby Players Ever | Physicality, Brutality & Aggressiveness" on the Die Hard Rugby channel. Scary dudes that you don't want to upset.
A lot of these big hits videos neglect to mention that alot these hits would result in being carded. If you want the true beauty of the sport check out the 6 nations (Scotland England Ireland Wales France and Italy) battling it out and the New Zealand all blacks and s Africa teams. And for the best ref check out the videos of nigel owens. You'll soon be hooked! 🏴🇮🇪🏴🏴🇫🇷🇮🇹
Your sound keeps cutting out please fix and reupload. Anyway, it takes about 6 months of training (being hit) to build up bone density enough before you play an actual game. The most common injury is broken collar bones if people try to play a game before they're match fit. Also, don't forget, in rugby you can only be tackled when you have the ball. So, in practice, you naturally tense up in readiness to be hit. A lot of rugby 'big hit' videos on YT are actually showing illegal hits for a sensational video. Lastly, in rugby the ball is always live and all players stay on the pitch throughout the game, the click doesn't stop. Major rule - the ball must never go forward via your hands! You can kick it forward or run with it that's it. Obviously there's rules and the only set plays you might see are if these rules are broken or the ball goes out of bounds. Other than that play is continuous until a team scores. You need to watch a full game NOT highlights, there are a number of All Blacks games on YT
Rugby, both League and Union, is a much more flowing game than American football. Injuries in matches aren't as bad as you'd think either. Obviously this is a collection of particularly bad hits, some of which likely break the rules now or even at the time. In many respects rugby is much safer than American football, because people are more careful about how they go into a tackle and how they tackle. The lack of helmets and padding means that you wouldn't do things which have killed people in American football too. Also you may notice not everyone is built the same, wingers tend to be smaller and faster. Still big guys in general but agility on the wings is more important. You should definitely just watch a full match to see how it actually is
Yeah, the rest of the world isn't impressed if you wear pads, that's why Rugby is a game played all over the world. From Pacific Islands and all across Europe.
Additionally, as others have mentioned, you cut a lot of what you said out on this video. I'm guessing you used automatic copyright removal, but you definitely need to do that manually for this one
Lol you were so into it that you didn't realise you were muted most of the video, but your face said it all 😅 👍🏴

For such a violent sport, there are surprisingly few serious injuries in Rugby. These guys are as fit af and hard as nails.
Now you have the warm-up, check something more serious: ) "Rugby till I collapse"

Rugby union and rugby league
Alot of these tackle you'll watching are illegal now
You can't shoulder charge as must use arms to grab the player now
One of big differences to grid iron is in rugby you can only throw the ball backwards
To advance you have only a couple ways run it or kick the ball forward and try to beat opponents to the ball
Otherwise a penalty given by umpire / referees
Also can be sent off ground and no replacement allowed
The team has to play short the player its similar to soccer send off rules
Different colour cards mean different time off yellow means 10 mins red rest of the game
These guy are big 6ft + built like a fridge 160 kilos which is approximately 352 pounds all muscle heaviest player
But average weight 103 kgs = 16st / 227 pounds
You need to look up Australian rules football
Just as tough
Its local to Australia 🇦🇺 only
Theu have players 5ft 6 inchs to 7ft
Everyone thinks its a mix of basketball socker rugby
But its been around before these games
If was formed in 1859
Its nothing like it in the world
So i urge you to have a gander / watch
As ruff and tough as rugby and no padding either
I played both sports and so have my brothers
We Australian's start playing as soon as you can catch and kick
Start playing games about 7 yrs old in whats called mini league
It very basic kids chasing the ball tackling
But its a start of learning the rules and ball skills
Cricket is another big sport
No its not like baseball
But a ball bowled at a batter at 156 klms about 97 mph
The ball is harder then a base ball similar weight i think Cricket ball slightly heavier

Was going to mention this aswell.
You should check out Australian Football. Tough but also skilful, exciting and high scoring.
Rugby doesn't stop every 3 - 5 seconds can you imagine 😁😁
"Don't believe in never." The guys who play AFL are some of the fittest men you'll ever see
Rugby Union & Rugby League are 2 different (but similar) games.
This compilation is a mixture of both.
Which isnt to say that the phychology of bare-knuckle fighters isnt terrifing.
aussie football next bro
Bro react to nrl rugby league its the fastest 'hardest most violent ball sport in world
And what you don't realise these guys are playing 2 40 min half's no breaks , so straight endurance, unlike the nfl where you depend on gear like pads and helmet , in rugby and nrl and afl your body is your gear and you depend on skill and adrenalin
played rugby for years. never injured. also played soccer and had so many injuries. strange but true
Different positions are different sizes. Like Wide receivers and Tackles in American Football
You should react to Australian Rules Football! Its also played in US known as USAFL - played in lots of states! You'll have to watch intro vid first called "What is AFL?' you will love it
Hey there's some State of Origin rugby league in here as well, including the infamous Gorden Tallis/Terry Hill face off!
I hate RUclips and it's insistently false copyright claims !!!
Yea RUGBY ALL DAY !!! Hit em UP
Unlike in American football, in rugby there are no time-outs if someone gets hurt. They just keep on playing. This is why it's much superior to the American game - it's non-stop action.
Some other crazy sports Irish Gaelic football, Hurling, and Australian rules football, however, the ultimate Isle of man TT races
Watch russell crowe the actor explain what rugby league is its closer to ur football than rugby union
If you think Rugby is tough check out Australian Football
🇿🇦Pegasus you need to watch the Springboks (🇿🇦South African Rugby National team) the greatest Rugby nation in the world 4 time current world Champions and #1 in the World
I love Hip-Hop too by the way. Greetings🤝🏽💯 from Johannesburg 🇿🇦South Africa
Loved playing rugby at school, played union, usually outside prop odd times 2nd row. Up the Robins
Surprisingly not that many serious injuries. They use muscle for padding. A few concussions, shoulder and knee injuries are common
You guys forget there’s like 6 popular football codes in the world:
Association football (soccer)
American football
Australian football
Gaelic football
Rugby union
Rugby league
There's Association Football and the rest that aren't popular in comparison. There are an estimated 3.5 billion fans of Association Football. I believe American Football is next with about 400 million.
@ it’s all relative.
The AFL has the highest attendance figures per capita.
Just like religion, it depends on where you grew up.
There are two types of Rugby, Rugby Union and Rugby League. Rugby Union was played in the US, but they eventually changed the rules and it became American Football. Now it is closer to Rugby League. Both types are played all over the world.
Well, not both of them all over.
While Union is played in over 120 countries League is played in only 4 or 5.
You think this is rough?Check out australian rules football
3:22 is super illegal. That defender was probably kicked out (sent off in rugby terms), and in Rugby you don't get to replace a sent off player. You gotta play a man down.
The number 5 in black, skelton is 6ft 8 and 320lbs and can run about 20mph. Yeahh no these dudes are seriously tuff. Yeah arms get snapped, fingers, necks, shoulders get dislocated, several people get ko'd in this clip alone. Tuff tuff dudes. You dont relise how big they are because all them are huge
That footage showed both Union and NRL.
Retired now but he was the only ref allowed to ref his own country of Wales because of his reputation for fairnesd
the thing is most of the players stay on the pitch for 80 minutes two halves of 40 minutes and the game does not stop after the tackle
It almost makes you want to watch it. OMG!!
What happened to the sound on this reaction? It keeps cutting out
Check out a video called "Top 10 Most Feared Rugby Players Ever | Physicality, Brutality & Aggressiveness" on the Die Hard Rugby channel. Scary dudes that you don't want to upset.
Aaah the sport of my youth!!
Played it at school really loved it
A lot of these big hits videos neglect to mention that alot these hits would result in being carded. If you want the true beauty of the sport check out the 6 nations (Scotland England Ireland Wales France and Italy) battling it out and the New Zealand all blacks and s Africa teams. And for the best ref check out the videos of nigel owens. You'll soon be hooked! 🏴🇮🇪🏴🏴🇫🇷🇮🇹
Head contact is a send off offence now
Your sound keeps cutting out please fix and reupload.
Scrum caps are just to stop your ears from ripping off🏉👍😸
Now, you can watch Women Rugby. They are crazy, it's amazing.
You should definitely just watch a full match to see how it actually is
What's with all the audio gaps?
BP have a look at the new beginners guide to AFL AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL ❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️
Rugby is a hooligans game played by gentlemen.🏉 ;)
My national sport as a Welshman, pro rugby players can spend 30% of their career injured
rugby Union and league is like US 'football' but for hard cases
Yeah, the rest of the world isn't impressed if you wear pads, that's why Rugby is a game played all over the world. From Pacific Islands and all across Europe.
A lot of those hits are illegal, any head contact is now treated very seriously
A number of these tackles are illegal now, anything that involves a connection with the head is a red card and the player is removed from the game.
iijm or is the sound cutting out?
Additionally, as others have mentioned, you cut a lot of what you said out on this video. I'm guessing you used automatic copyright removal, but you definitely need to do that manually for this one
Football in American started as Rugby. American football's origins started as Rugby.
