About me: I initially had a clothing company that tanked. However, that experience taught how incredibly expensive it is to outsource your content creation. This prompted me to learn everything I could about photo and video. Shooting video and photo was the aspect of the business I enjoyed the most, so I made the tough decision to focus on those disciplines. Just like you, I’m still learning but I still want to share my experience with you because I love watching videos basically anything related to film photography and video. I hope you’ve taken something useful from watching my channel. It’s been proven that subscribers to my channel are 47% happier than non-subscribers. Food for thought.
Happy Shooting, Zain
I just picked up my first film camera and this film was recommended to me. I am so excited to shoot w it. Thank you for making such an enthusiastic and educational video!
you're going to love it!
Great video! In Poland it's aviable without problem on internet shops but to my suriprise it's not so popular among photographs. Maybe it's unknown to them, It's hard to find it on the local photo-shops. I've bought 2 rolls of it on the internet and I can't wait to see the results.
Greetings, Zain!
well aren't you lucky! haha I can only ever find it here a couple times a year. It sells out quick here and prices have gone up (surprise, surprise) again here.
Nice video Zain! hopefully we raise the demand for lesser known film stocks so over inflated stocks go down in value until we reach that beautiful equilibirum. Would also love to see a review and your thoughts on kodak ultramax 400!
I haven't shot ultramax in a long time, but thanks Jay for watching. Hopefully prices even out before Kodak get closed down for insider trading hahah
Good video. How would you compare Kodak Gold vs Kodak Pro Image? Do you have a preference?
I have a confession. I have never shot Kodak Gold, but from what I've seen Gold is a bit more saturated and warmer than Pro Image, which would actually suit my style better today.
@@ZainRiza I have a confession to make. I have regularly shot Gold and Pro Image. I have shot Gold in both 35mm and 120. All great. Most of the time I shoot Pro Image because it is the least expensive color film I know. Kodak Gold brings back good nostalgia. For landscapes I love Ektar.
Thanks Zain!! I was looking for a consumer color film that has neutral pastel colours like on portra and pro 400h. Unfortunately my supplier of films ran out of pro image....well now I have to dig a hole to find this 😁
Hahah going to have to go on a film expedition.
Something about the lighting and softness of the image at @9:16 ... Very nice composition.
Ah thank you very much! It was her hat that caught my eye.
My local film friend and developer gave me a free roll to test out in Zion national park this weekend I’m looking forward to using this, it will be bright and sunny so shadows shouldn’t be a problem for me :) thanks for the tips
Have fun! I bet those shots will come out beaut.
Just found this video now. I have not Shot ProImage yet. It is as far as I recall the only video telling this ProImage has lower range and is less sharp. I would like to see closeup-examples of that. Any available somewhere?
I have a few images on my IG @zainrizaphoto
Really good video!
Thank you, Francisco.
"There's literally no way 2020 can't get worse than this moment right here." lmao. Also shot 4 rolls of this but haven't had it developed yet. It's so much cheaper, but I hope the color rendition is at least good. The latitude, well yeah you need to get your exposure right with this one. Also who shoots Portra 160 haha. Portra 400 is the good one, but definitely use Pro Image over 160, it's literally better film imo.
Hahah I'm glad someone appreciates my humour! Well I thought it only makes sense to compare it to portra 160 since they're close in ISO speed. Thanks for watching and I hope you're a subscriber now 😊
proimage 100 is only like $10 here in iceland, so it's a very economical stock to daily
Goodness me. It used to be like $6 here.
Great video bro!
Appreciate it!
"I like 100 iso because I can shoot open"...Me too bro! Even with iso 800! Buy a proper film camera like the canon 1n that has a 1/8,000 shutter speed and you can shoot any film stock wide open.
I do. I have the Canon EOS 5. Love it exactly for that fast shutter speed.
Gracias!
Dinata
Always wanted to try that before quarantine, still can't go out tho(being underage)
Where do you live??

Imagine shooting with budget films for a year and saving your 2 rolls of portra (bough before the price going up) just to shot them when you go traveling and get half of the images out of focus and the other half with bad exposure or just poor composition. But at least you got 1 gold photo...
I'm confused. Is this what happened to you?
@@ZainRiza Yes, happened to me this year xD. My bad if I wasn't clear enough in my comm.
PS. Today I just discovered your channel and I'm enjoying the content, keep it up ! Also, kodak gold is underrated.
Poor Man's Portra maybe... but I personnaly find that Pro 100 has more accurate colors than Portra (more neutral, not kind of yellowish Portra gives).
Interesting. Yeah sometimes I have to edit out those yellow tones.
@@ZainRiza ;) props to you man, your videos are professionnals
It's total worth it! I shot this at ISO 25... That 3Stops over exposed! Check out my results @behindeachfilmgrain if you want to see the results! Love the dramatics! Haha!
Nice one!
The secret is out and now Kodak will increase the price due to a surge of demand. No...!
Nooooo. I know, right. You want to share something that's been helping you with the wider community but at the same time it hurts the community haha.
