Russell is one of the few people who posesses the ability to have an honest, respectful and insightful conversation with literally ANYONE regardless of their beliefs and political views. It's so powerful. This is the type of human interactions we need a lot more of in this world.

Yes, he does and his sincerity is obvious and I have striven for many years to get to this point and I kinda am worried I wont because as soon as she grins with admiration when Jordan Peterson is mentioned- I feel some anger beginning to rise...Namaste Z (after listening- she is naive and I am with him- anarchy, Russell and I have been around longer...) IS SHE A TEACHER, LORD HELP ANY STUDENT WHO DISAGREES WITH HER- A GOOD TEACHER ALLOWS FOR DISAGREEMENT AS LONG AS YOU CAN BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENT. MAYBE IT IS ME TODAY, I HAD A BAD DAY YESTERDAY, A DAY Candace wouldn't allow for-- mental illness to her is laziness probably, she is getting under my skin, I have a feeling she isn't very compassionate, Jordan Peterson "fell", his vulnerability became apparent but he owned up to it- I don't feel she is using her power for the good at all... she IS a teacher- bull, black people have been and are victimized (I am not black), sorry she has lost me...I guess I will check out one of her beloved monopolies, Amazon and see what she has written, cringe....

It seems like they agree about how a Utopia should exist generally, but they just can't find common ground leading to it. Candace Owens seems willfully ignorant several times here, though. She also contradicts herself quite obviously and often, even though she is technically honest, considering each claim separately. Russell showed a beautiful example of patience and tenacity in this podcast/interview. P.S. I think they're both wrong about god(s).

She doesn’t understand that not everyone can be smart, mentally strong, driven and solve their own problems like her, not everyone have parents and community that can guide or support them. I do agree with her that anyone who works hard can improve their life but at the same time those who are in the lower rung of society are working hard but their earnings cannot get them out of poverty or afford them better opportunities.

Hard work does not automatically reward that, for example I work extremely hard since I was 15, I am now 45 I have never been successful, I have never had wealth, my spouse(s) through out my life (males) have always made 3 to 5 times more than me, even though I'm considered a "professional", and if I was single I would be living on the poverty line.

I think that’s Candace’s point. The government has told the black community, “you’ve been oppressed so we will take care of you. You don’t have to compete in society (because you are too far behind)! If the black community has any problem, and they do), it is in lack of expectations, both in themselves and both parties.

Holding onto it, the longer you do, it harms you , it burns you, and it does nothing to the person you're hating or angry at. She simply spews common conservative talking points with know depth to explain why her new ideology is superior to her past support of progressive principles. She’s never debated anybody formidable in politics; instead she challenges celebrities who most likely don’t study these subjects. A couple years ago she ran a liberal website and was anti Trump. Her original career path was to become a actor. She created a website where people could be doxed. I must say I disagree, people like Candace Owens should not be platformed at all. She's a toxic hack financed and motivated to promote an agenda. For all her projection, it is her side that have no ideas or prescriptions to offer, indeed most of the biggest issues they deny or flat out ignore - furthermore, as we've seen so much these last few years, their ideology is so toxic and impossible to sell that they have to literally appropriate Leftist tradition and positions, cynically repackaging and redirecting it in some way to be "Conservative positions". Quite clever from a strategic point of view for a variety of reasons, but so dishonest and pathetic. I can't even count how many times Candace literally gaslighted Brand, branding her positions as original - that she thinks Brand is actually Conservative. Hah! There are a few ways of dealing with these people:
      1. Ignore them, or push them aside.
      2. Provide them exile or grounds to form their own society according to theit beliefs.

If you ask her, she overcame nothing or at least nothing that was because of being born black. I think it's great that she doesn't want to be seen as a victim and on an individual basis many black folks have overcome their struggles in life and are longer victims of the circumstances they were born into, however it is her denial of the fact that blacks as an ethnic group are largely still victims of the lingering consequences of having been slaves and considered the lowest of the low. The fact that she had to overcome anything says she was a victim of what she had to overcome and it was because she was born into a black family. This is typical, they fight tooth and nail to get where they are and make sure everyone knows it, but then when the next guy says there is still a struggle for blacks, its him being racist. She lives in her own reality. And her narrative has changed since Trump. She says whatever those she thinks is winning want to hear. I think she hates Black people she hates her self and she is typical of every sellout that has ever existed. If I made it, made it through struggles and now it no longer exists for me then it simply doesn't exist for anyone. It is elitest and willfully ignorant.

They can do anything. I say to mothers encourage your children. If you didn't make it your children can. I'm 61 years old and I can say she is right about the welfare problem. One generation begets another generation in welfare. I've seen it. Mother, daughter, grand daughter and even sons on welfare. 4 generation in a family on welfare. I blame that on past politicians. That has caused a breakdown of neighborhoods, cities, communities, family.

Absolutely, positively the truth you speak dear lady. Politicians of the past created it. People like President Johnson, Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan and deeply racist man himself, who with his democratic cronies.. created welfare and the welfare state. Knowing full good and well when they passed it that it would create a pool millions of guaranteed democratic voters not wanting to lose it. Those "kept black single mothers in the hood" know damn well that the lies they are fed about Trump and his supporters are just that.. lies. but it's conveniently ignorant to use this contrived information in defense of their actions. They ARE that guaranteed voting block for exactly the reasons past politicians expected them to be. They will continue to sell out their own people, living in the same impoverished areas they did when the democrats paid them to be democrats. sad

Humm being older than both of you and growing up with no parents and a drug/alcohol family background. From the age of 2yrs I remember all that happened. I went to a foster home. I was 2. I don't remember anything before that, but I remember entering that house and everything thereafter.
I never knew my mother and my father would visit me 5 times from my age of 9 til 16 when he suddenly died. I left my home town at 18 when the system released me.
I grew up in a strange world of mental anguish and being denied when others got favor. Let me explain this I grew up in a foster home where I was a small means of support for a family that needed to make ends meet for their children and their mortgage. I suffered no physical abuse. They were not bad people they were just making ends meet through the check they got for keeping a foster child.
And I lived in a nice neighborhood. But I was ALWAYS on the outside looking in. I was small, extremely thin and always depressed. Yes they fed me but I never had much of an appetite. I also was not smart. I grew up at the end of the illegitimate era and the stigma that comes with that. I watched for the 16yrs I was in that foster home all the favor children received from their parents in the neighborhood and didn't really appreciate it. I had to fight envy, jealousy, hate and despair from an early age. I was treated like a nobody and given no love. I was just there. I was often told " you'll be just like your parents." That statement confused me cause I didn't know my parents. If I had any talent or wanted to learn something to better myself for the future it was ignored at home and at school.
Everyone knew I was an orphan and no one cared.
    I was just there.
I saw so much, I learned so much that made me angry as I grew up. But I had faith, I had GOD. Eventually I took the negative and turned it positive through GOD's guidance and learned how to survive and be stronger for myself by the time I was 27 and far away from where I grew up. Coming off of homelessness then welfare. To go to job training and getting a job which I worked for 28yrs. It was the anger and being denied and being told what I would be that drove me to finally change my life. Never liked drugs or alcohol thank GOD. And when I dumped going no where people out of my life I finally went somewhere.

I’ve only watched half of the podcast at this point but, I believe in the power of the individual but it took me years to find my own strength. I became unemployed when my kids were young and I started receiving food stamps. For several years I was employed on and off always ending up back on government assistance. It wasn’t until a new government policy threatened to revoked my ability to renew my food stamps unless I actively sought gainful employment. The requirements were similar to those of unemployment where I had to provide the contact information where I applied for jobs and the outlets I used to do so. It was a full time job seeking a job. It was such a successful program that I actually found employment and have been off government assistance ever since. With that said, had I not been forced into it, I would not have believed I could do it. I did need the government help, but I become dependent on it and developed a mindset that I wouldn’t be able to survive without it. It was a necessity, but it needed to be a limited time frame for me.

It is possible to have compassion for people (Candace most definitely does not have compassion, she has too much judgment) and not give them what they think they want.
Can I have compassion for my toddler when she struggles to deal with her disappointment when I tell her “no” to candy instead of dinner?
I can. That doesn’t mean I give her candy.
There is a middle ground. There is a true difference between compassion and enabling, and it seems like many people don’t understand what it is.
