    Informative with the wrong information. For example, Airforce one is not faster than an F-16. Yes, F-16s cruise between 550-600 miles an hour but an F-16s max speed is 1,345 mph. Airfoce can't even reach the sound barrier. Or "airforce one flies higher than any other plane". Except, the service ceiling of the SR-71 Blackbird is 85,000 feet, more than double Airforce one. Heck, even the F-16 has a higher service ceiling at 55,000 feet.

      The -200B is also not 250 feet long. Even a Gulfstream G650ER can fly faster and at a higher service ceiling. This is a perfect t example of why the internet is making people stupid. No one cross references anything anymore. Anyone can put anything on the internet and pretend it’s true.

    AF1 lands at many civilian airports all over the world. It usually lands at the international airport here in my local town and never lands at the Air Force base here and I have seen it many times land at LAX many times.
    They always halt all airport activities for as long as up to an hour while it is coming in for landing and getting secured and then normal airport activities will then be allowed to resume.

    • @Henry_Churches
      @Henry_Churches 4 месяца назад +1

      I can second this! About a month ago Biden was giving a speech in Austin, TX and AF1 flew directly into and out of the city airport (ABIA). I’m sure it was a secured runway, but to say it always flies into military airports is flat-out inaccurate. In Austin’s case, there are no major military airports here so if any president wants to fly into the city, they’re flying into the same airport as every other civilian.

  • @jamesabeaver
    @jamesabeaver Год назад +115

    AF1 lands at LAX all the time. As with other civilian airports. Usually it then leaves to spend the night at a more secure location, but not always.

    Flight performance wise is just slightly faster (+30 km/h) and has a slightly higher ceiling (+1800m) than the standard commercial version of the 747-400.
    The fuselage is not "armored" as it would weigh too much and probably not even be able to take off, let's say that instead of the standard insulation materials of the commercial version a special mix of carbon fibers with ballistic properties are used.
    The real secret stuff are the special ECM suites and especially the communication and datalinks that work through military satellites in space.

      @@amyhartman6786 the latest Air Force One was built nearly a decade ago for a carrier that ordered two 747-8s which were then cancelled because the carrier ceased operating. Those airframes were placed in long term storage and will now be converted into VC-25Bs and fitted out to serve as AF1. Dumbass Trump complained about the cost which was only slightly more than it is now but the penalty is that because the aeroplanes have already been built as opposed to being built as VC-25Bs from scratch, they will lack features of the current AF1s which include aerial refueling. The capability has to be included as the aeroplane is being built so can’t be retrofitted. That’s the only disadvantage I can see thanks to Trump who complained about a couple hundred million dollars but wasted millions on a pointless ‘wall’.

      I have seen it at the West Palm Beach airport many times period but it is my understanding it has extra large engines with very very impressive numbers on the performance and it can break the sound barrier can the 707 can do it as well but the regular 747 cannot break the sound barrier butt Air Force One can and this is exactly why we owe about 50 trillion dollar deficit if they count everything

I personally saw this plane land mere yards from me while President Trump was campaigning for the second time & still acting President. It landed at an airport in Fayetteville nc.. however ft Bragg is in the middle of this city but still wasn't a secure one or on the base. They had The eye of the tiger song playing really loud when it landed and he came out, was actually a cool experience.
