For those who don't know "adeptus" is a word to refer a major faction in the imperium of man, powerful enough to command itself and pusuit thier own goals and ambitions (after fighing and dying for the emperor of course)
Adeptus Astartes: Space Marines
But there's also, for example:
Adeptus Arbites (the police)
Adeptus Custodes (big boi Space Marines that guard the God-Emperor's Golden Throne)
Adeptus Mechanicus (FLESH IS WEAK)
Adeptus Ministorum (= the Ecclesiarchy, a.k.a the church)
Adeptus Terra (a whole bunch o bureaucrats)
