- Spend a few days in Kandy, Sri Lanka with me as a solo female traveller, where I show you the top things to do in Kandy and surrounding areas! I stay at Banana Bunks Hostel and visit the Big Buddha, Ambuluwawa Tower, Ceylon Tea Factory, Pidurangala Rock which is opposite Sigiriya Lion Rock, Rawana Spice Garden and Temple of the Tooth. The river at 5:10 is the Mahaweli, Sri Lanka's longest river-it starts in the central mountains and winds its way to the sea near Trincomalee.

You can also visit Polonnaruwa to See Historical ruins..There are some of the places i know..

5. Minneriya National Park,
6. Kiri Vihara,
7. Nissanka Latha Mandapaya,
8. Polonnaruwa Vatadage,
9. Lankatilaka Temple,
10.Angammedilla National Park,
11. Sigiriya Rock Fortress,

Well, you climbed just another rock with a view that you can find anywhere, whereas the $30 one is a UNESCO world heritage site with extensive ruins of a unique palace complex from the 5th century!
