      Good Video, Just a few things, Maybe people should be More " Realistic " when it comes to buying a GFX card .... 1) Are the list of your games being played Going to Use Ray tracing, And Are you brainwashed into THINKING you need RayTracing? 2) Are you a Video Editor/Streamer and similar that needs the Type of Power that the RTX 4090 can offer? 3) Are You trying to become a Professional gamer 4) Do you Have a 4K High Refresh rate Monitor 5) Are you just a person that likes the " Bragging " rights for owning a 4090? Lastly, If you played games for years on PC before anyone of these New ?? cards came out and Had fun, then why the need to spend Hundreds more. Don't believe the Hype/advertising Bullshit, when you peel away the Veneer, it's that Same damn product with a new badge That's it...... I am willing to Bet that if a Sony rep knocked on your door and Gave you a Decked Out PS5 and 1 yr Game Sub, You would be playing those Games religiously, and how much would that cost, for me approx $800 Far less then the cost of a 4090

      Hey Daniel, to be honest - why should we care about MSRP, if there's no way to get a GPU for this price, because nVidia controls and shifts the market the way they want, to shift what everyone has to pay for their products. 😅🤷‍♂
      Here in Germany you pay 25-40% above MSRP ... what a pity.
      Do you make a serious video just to give us good content or is it about nonsens, to get some profit from your partnership with JAWA?^^
      Naahhh ... I guess the lines between are thin, very thin.
      I would stay realistic ... I mean nVidia RTX 4090 listed for 1.749€ ... but on the market for 2.249€ is 28,59% above MSRP... I would never ever compare MSRP. This is not a NEW effect which made it's way into the market with the release of the 4000-Series, this had also existed while 3000-Series was released.
      The moment I bought my RTX 3090 Ti, it was "only" 8% above the official MSRP, but at this price it was never seen again, so the prices came not even closer onto MSRP as this.
      - This situation doesn't became better with the 4000-Series... of cause not.
      But "sight" 😔 it's maybe easy to make it as simple as possible by comparing MSRPs, if you didn't had to pay for every GPU you got, because you got luck to get samples for free. It's then more easy right.
      And by the way: To rump, bluster or even to raor is better for kids, to do it outside of the house. That's what my parents teached me in my childhood and it makes sense, so I'm teaching it as well.

      Like a pawn shop, they have to in order to turn around and re-sell it. You'll always get a lot less than you would selling it to the end user directly (ex. thru eBay). Just as I'd never sell anything to a pawn shop, I'd never sell my GPU to Jawa, but other people may prefer to not worry about listing theirs, being accountable to the buyer or potentially dealing with non-paying buyers.

    • @Angel7black
      @Angel7black 5 месяцев назад +33

      Tbf, that kinda did make sense in theory. The 3080 performed super similar and made it irrelevent, there was like a 20 percent gap between the 3080 and the 3090 Ti, with the 3080 Ti being 5 percent off the 3090 and 3090 Ti being 5 percent faster than a 3090 i think. The only reason to buy it was productivity due to extra cores and 24gb of vram vs 10 and 12gb. That and mining. The 3090 will go down as one of the best crypto investments of all time. Basically paid for itself and was a money printer for almost 2 years. Is it fucked up that was a thing? Absolutely, but thats what happened. It really wasnt a card people actually bought for gaming at the end of the day lol. The 4090 on the other hand is the first true 4K gaming card, as in the first and only GPU to exist that actually is an optimal 4K card instead of some glorified 1440p high refresh rate card that needs to play at a mix of medium/high settings in a lot of games and look worse than 1440p high or ultra. Yeah the 3090 was a trash card for gamers, but for productivity and mining it definitely had its purpose

      The 4070, 4070 Super, 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti Super are a weird bunch: all of them perform similar or better than a 3090, but only in 1080p. At 1440p they get stunted and at 4K they fall off, due to the 192 bit bus and 3 of them because of the "just" 12GB of memory.

    4090 is one of those GPUs Nvidia launches right after AMD looks to have a come back. For example Fury X was very close to 980 Ti, so they released 1080 Ti for good price. 6900 XT was close to 3090. It also just happens that AMD cant seem to execute more than 1 generation. Both Vega and RDNA3 underdelivered.

    • @Angel7black
      @Angel7black 5 месяцев назад +16

      RDNA1 was also ass, but people made every excuse for how broken that architecture was with all the bugs. So far the only tome it feels like AMD can actually put out solid GPUs is when Sony hold’s their hand. By that I mean Polaris and RDNA2 which were GPUs used for the PS4(pro specifically i think) and PS5. Sony and Microsoft would not have accepted half cooked GPUs for their consoles

    • @qubes8728

      So true, 4090 just there to troll Radeon. I imagine one of those slap fights where the tough guys quickly learns to stay in his. TBH though, AMD don’t want to beat Nvidia, they just wanna get close enough so they can charge nvidia like prices and continue to push up prices. Win win for both companies. Remember, amd releases after nvidia as a pricing tactic. If they wanted to compete on performance they go hard and release on the same day and throw down but they don’t.

    • @ryanspencer6778

      The only reason RDNA2 wasn't also bad in comparison to Ampere is because AMD had a big node advantage with TSMC 7nm vs Samsung 8nm. If Ampere were also on TSMC then Nvidia would have destroyed AMD like they did with Ada vs RDNA3.

In less demanding titles like World of Tanks the 3080ti had much higher powerdraw in 4k @ 144hz and sometimes could not even reach 144hz. Up to 300 or even more Watts before and ~150 Watts now with the 4090.
      It is silent, it is fast and gives the first acceptable 4k gaming experience. The 7900xtx was't in concideration since if I spend so much money on a GPU I go for the best anyways.

    I bought a 4090 day one the morning they dropped at my local Micro Center and immediately compared it against my 3080Ti which is a 3090 essentially in Quake 2 RTX at 4K and my mind was blown when it was twice as fast. The 4090 was such a good generational jump over the last flagship, unfortunately the same couldnt be said for the rest of the stack. Still once the RTX 5000 series comes out getting your hands on a used 4090 will be such a nice uplift in performance for people and its really power efficient too.

  • @Aurummorituri
    @Aurummorituri 5 месяцев назад +9

    Awesome comparison. I will say that your 3090 results are a little skewed downwards. At 350W the 3090 was heavily power limited. A model with three power connectors with a 450W+ power limit could hold 2Ghz+ stable while yours was hovering around 1800Mhz. I suppose the 4090 could be overclocked as well, but it is not nearly as power limited due to its much more efficient manufacturing process. This could also be making it look smoother on the lows.

      if it's go well its stays, if not it will drop a bit in price or will be replaced with a cut down higher tier die with a super/ti name.

    well, I'm going to keep for a while the used 3090 I got for around 700$ last year, it's an EVGA as well. (even painted it white so it fits the build)
    with a nice undervolt it draws around 300W on a full load. RT without upscaling is obviously a no-go in 1440p in any game, maybe RTAO is manageable. To be honest I did not expect that I'd need to use so much upscaling with this card in 1440p, but that's modern gaming I guess...
    I wouldn't have liked this card if I bought it full price on release though.

    A lot of people talk about the 40 Series with a lot of negativity, but my personal experience with a 4070 has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive. Though to be fair, I upgraded to a 4070 from a 1660 Ti. So the leap in performance and power was absolutely massive. Also, features newly available to me since buying a 4070 are very impressive to me (DLSS upscaling, frame generation, ray tracing, etc). So I admit my personal opinion might be biased and influenced by the "wow" factor of such a huge upgrade.

      The experience you're having from your 4070 was supposed to be given at a 4060 level. The issue isn't with the cards, the performance uplift was great and the features were a large bonus over that. The issue is that every card got labeled as one tier higher than it should be, and then got a MSRP increase over that as well.

The thing is that they sell their xx90 series as ultimate cards that are too good even for gaming, then the lie unveils and it's not just that the card underpeforms for its price as soon as a new technology is implemented, but that this can even affect the mental of buyers who spent thousands on a card whose value inmensely drops after just a few years.

    The 4070 Ti was expected to be the 4080, but AMD's release of the 6950 disrupted those plans. Traditionally, Ti models have been targeting users of 2K/4K. It is interesting to note, despite negative sentiments to both manufacturers, particularly NVidia, a 4060 Ti was released. However, 4060 Ti's raw specifications were inferior to what people were expecting to be similar to the 4070, which led to ridicule for NVidia. Very interesting point is the 4060 and Ti versions, both have the same software additives, which provide these synthetic results.
