So, that's the reason why Blueberry Hill sounds so good even today? It's actually a blessing that a phenomenal show like that, was recorded.
I've always looked to the raw outtakes and live performances as a way to not only imbibe that creative energy but as a way to recognize my own and to envision it in a better, more sophisticated and produced form.
Listening to Led Zeppelin wrestle with new ideas that eventually became iconic landmarks in the sonic landscape of Western Rock n Roll has been a priceless education. Never mind that I have bought and paid for each studio album at least ten times each in my lifetime.
It is important for people to hear real music in its own time rather than be confined to just the official release, which is a static photograph. A live recording is a living, breathing quality whose nuances of emotion and energy change with perception over time revealing new dimensions.
People who buy boots already have everything legitmately put out by the artist. I'm one of them, and is everybody I've ever met who buys bootlegs. Because of the hyper-expense, I've focused on Zep and Elton. Through their careers I've bought both of their entire catalogs in every format available - vinyl, some cassette, CD and CD again (after they fixed the sound on CDs after awhile). I don't copy and redistribute, but I have used them to "treat" fellow fans who haven't heard this side of the artists. So there is no financial hurt to those artists, but yes I can understand the artistic and control aspects of both artists. For example, one highlight of my concert going life was seeing Zep in '77, but the shows in Maryland were mediocre sounding at best and the performances were just OK (for them!). So from that tour I found the best boot in terms of both audio quality and musical performance (Listen To This Eddie, recorded in LA). With Elton, I bought two that were him on a couple of solo tours because he was in his prime vocally and he just flat out plays more withoiut a band behind him. Remember, he did attend the Royal Academy. I don't think this approach hurt either artist financially whatsoever, but I'm not an artist so I can't pretend to feel what they feel as far as artistic control.
It no one is bootlegging your band that means you’re not hot. It’s a free form of advertising for bands. A real fan buys everything!
If you’re not getting bootlegged than you’re a boring band that’s not in demand.
Do some of the groups employ heavies? -
"Well they're not gonna get anybody heavier than me, are they"

Interesting Mr. Grant , RIP ✨ Thank you.
Power To The People!
Very interesting , thank you Mark :)
Thank God for bootlegs
“What does your husband think about bootlegging?” Too funny! Cool to see Pink Floyd. Love the Brit’s and their album shenanigans. Thanks for posting.
Wow. The man who changed live nusic- thank you for this
That Floyd bootleg sounded way better than some of the cassettes I used to buy from Camden Market in the '80s. I had a Zeppelin at Knebworth one that consisted of pissed blokes shouting and a ghastly noise somewhere in the distance.
God Bless whoever started Kiss the Stone and Swinging Pig! Two legendary labels!
Oh boy I've got swingin pig
The Cure never cared if they were recorded and the G Dead even set up a recording section for their shows. They made a lot a money! It means people are following you.
Mr Grant was quite a robust individual.
Those 70s guys look so funny. Half the time I expect to see the Monty Python crew pop in, "and now, for something completely different..."
Thanks 🙏 🎉❤😊
Bootlegs are/were the lifeblood of music, something beyond the control of record companies and artists themselves. Professionally produced bootlegs don’t really exist in the same way today due to torrents and downloading - and thank God for that. People who d/l torrents of live shows of their favorite groups already own everything officially released. Record companies have been influenced by bootlegs and many have been officially released by big names such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan and many others.
I love that footage of Pink Floyd in the studio they’ve got there. Meddle wasn’t even out yet!
Thank you,Mark! 👍
That was cool.
These people had the times of their lives! Best times ever!
ALWAYS STRONG
Major issue in the music business of the 1970s. And of course, computers were around during that time, but nobody knew that computers would make this issue mostly irrelevant.
These days Bootlegs on Vinyl are worth a lot due to there Limited Releases of past acts such as L.Z. Yesn PinkFloyd Etc..Listen On !

I love it! Is this out there in a lossless format in any of the groups now? I'd love to get a copy of this. Great quality too! Thanks Mark 👍
Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Сппсибо.
Not a man to be messed with if it was to do with ripping Led Zeppelin off.
Was that really John Lennon sat next to Yoko? Or just a random stand in?
Worked out pretty good for the guy at 2:22 (Richard Branson).
That's not Branson. Look up photos of him when he was young. The teeth just aren't big enough! :)
Wow, a copy of Nick Drake's 'Bryter Layter' in the racks!
6:33 yeah,ill bet he did😀
No sympathy for record companies or managers
Peter Grant looks nothing like that now.. He has lost so much weight.. He's gaunt and thin these days
likely due to the fact that he's deceased. RIP.
He's been dead since 1995!!
@@johngunne3327 that explains looking so thin
@@johngunne3327 really. I was going by the programme I recently saw on TV.. I had no idea that he had died
@@molly18239 I didn't know that sorry
