Sergei De Jonge Interview - Part 1: Jean Larrivée

Master Luthier Sergei De Jonge began his career as Jean Larrivée’s first apprentice in Toronto.
Jean Larrivée, is a seminal figure in the Canadian guitar building industry.
Jean was trained in the 1960’s by Edgar Mönch from Germany.
Edgar Mönch had been trained by, Marcello Barbero in Spain, who had been trained by Jose Ramirez II, who had been taught by his father Jose Ramirez. Jose began his apprenticeship at 12 years old with the master builder Francisco Gonzales in 1860.
