      Tim: "not likely to get that strong"
      Michael: "hold my water"

    Sustained winds above 156mph will put it at a catagory5. I am concerned with how that storm surge will behave in the big bend. All that water dome will be impacting land.

      I wish I could have seen the eyewall and eye. Drove to Tallahasee to see storm. Was gonna go to Bay County but left too late. I hope another hurricane like this strikes the US soon.

      @@markpalavosvrahotes5575 I saw it. Don’t think you would of liked being here. I think the back half was worse

      @@patrickkinney4998 That’s what I heard. Tell me something. Why would I have not enjoyed it. Tell me what the worst part of it to you was. Well I did get to Tallahassee where they got about a cat 1 there and I drove west near Quincy where there could have been a couple of gusts to 100. So I guess I should not complain too much. You know the one and only place that got sustained winds of cat 5 strength was Mexico Beach up to a half mile inland. That’s not saying everywhere else did not have severe winds. I would say from east Panama City Beach to Port Saint Joe it was devastating. I am just saying the absolute highest winds and surge were in that one small area.

    Hurricane Irma was also scary riding up the back bone of the west coast of Florida, We were very lucky this storm lost its intensity when it hit Marco Island in SW Florida could have been a lot worse.

      And I don't know how we got so lucky. Been watching these beasts for decades track across the warm Atlantic waters, and I don't think I've ever seen a monster like Irma (or even close to Irma) weaken to that degree over small lands like the Keys. And then almost completely fell apart in SWF. Extremely rare occurrence.

    anyone know the difference between the usual model and the European model?

    • @MyKharli
      @MyKharli 6 лет назад +2

      Different computer model programs , staff ,computers in that order, though there might be shared computer resources. Its hard to say which is best as the weather seems more chaotic and less precedents to go on. But they both do there best.
