@@DannysAquariums that's good. Just don't put a weight set in the tank. You don't want that thing working out and getting strong enough to lift the lid.
Hey there, I will be setting up a 600 litre reef tank (160 gallons US). So, I plan to use 2 boxes (160 pieces total) of Maxpect bio balls. Do you think that will be enough for a 160 gallon tank? Also instead of adding bacteria, I plan to put these bags of bio media into my cousin’s tank’s sump and keep it there for a month or two before I set up my tank. His tank is a few years old. So um that way I can get a variety of bacteria from his tank and also microorganisms like copepods and amphipods. What are the Chances I can get pests as well? Like bristle works, aptasia, etc. do you think they will be a problem in a sterile tank? Also how can I get all these bacteria to colonise my bio media and also the copepods to stay in it without getting any of the pests into my tank? Is that possible? Please let me know! Also is this a good idea? What do you think? Thank you in advance! Also the creepiness is a 7 out of 10 in my opinion :)
Definitely get some media in your cousin's tank as soon as possible. You will still need to cycle your aquarium upon setting it up using bottled bacteria and a source of food(bottled ammonia or ghost feeding). The thing is with such a large tank it will take a long time for bacteria to colonize and reproduce, the beneficial bacteria will constantly need an ammonia source after the initial cycle(fish+feeding). My recommendation would be to put as much media as you can fit loosely into the established tank of your cousin's, and carry that over when you set up your tank. It will definitely help! Understand that a 160 is a rather large tank and it will take several months for bacteria, organisms, etc to inhabit your sand and aquascape. When you add your first couple fish, consider adding copepods and continue to add more pods frequently(idk maybe once a month) they will help you by consuming tiny algae and bacteria in your tank. As for the pests mentioned in your question, there is no guarantee. If you can avoid the aptasia, then you are winning. Do not worry too much about bristle worms, they will help eat detritus and are a good part of a clean up crew. Nearly unavoidable, but if you have large populations or large ones you can get an orchid dottyback or arrowcrab that will feast on them. Overall, do your best to study before your tank gets going(brs 5 minute guide and brs 52 weeks of reefing to start). If you put a lot of care and passion into this hobby, it can be very rewarding
*Rate the creepiness 1-10! 😨😂*

somehow i expected him to say, " it's been 24 hours since i added the crab to the aquarium and it's eaten my whole family"
Luckily not! Had me worried tho... haha XD
Arrow crabs are very beneficial for your reef tank as they kill and eat bristle worms 👍🏻
as someone who is not afraid of spiders, yes very creepy. that thing will crawl out of the aquarium at night and eat your eardrums
Such a beautiful lifefo-

Thanks, Danny!
@@DannysAquariums You're welcome 😊
Had one of these in my aquarium around 50 years ago lol. Nothing new here but yours is much bigger. Either way they're not creepy in the least.
Considering you don't have lids on your tanks, aren't you concerned that you are going to wake up with that thing on your face someday?
Don’t say that!!! 😆 I do have lids on the tanks when I’m not filming, so animals don’t jump out and the water doesn’t evaporate as fast.

I thought a sally lightfoot crab was horrible let alone this new addition. I didn't realise how big the arrow crab is. 🤣🤣
Hey, there is lots of videos of about these aquarium, but let me ask you that what's your dimensions of 20g aquarium
65 x 45 x 30 cm
I have a question What kind of device is an object like five or six pipes caught on the back of the fishbowl at 2:53? Please let me know!
That’s part of the dosing pump, which supplies the aquarium with calcium, magnesium, alkalinity and minerals.
@@DannysAquariums Could you tell me the figures for those three parts? I'm sorry I keep asking you questions
Level 2 scary, not too scary but it isn't like the average fish / crab.
