Cattywompass is by all means a word, been hearing and using it all my life. Keep up the great videos
Same here! My mama used it and so do I!
I used it Saturday 😄
My wife says kittywompass but she's from California so.....
cattywampus, Doohickey, whatchamacalit, and thingamajig are all common words used in our house.
yeah!!!
Caddywompus, shoot fire, thing of a gig, and hicky ma gig all good southern expressions.
Right up there with “discombobulated,” “whatchamacallit,” and “whosawhatsit.” 😊😊
Yes it is a word
Cattywampus:
Definition - askew, awry, kitty-corner. Cattywampus is a variant of catawampus, another example of grand 19th century American slang. In addition to “askew” catawampus may refer to “an imaginary fierce wild animal,” or may mean “savage, destructive.”
Cattywampus is a word, it means Kristen has lived in the Appalachian Mountains to long. Thank you Kristen for the proper use of our mountain word.
Thanks for the ride along through the tail, I haven't been in years. Somethings never change, there will always be the crazy ones passing in some of the worst spots.
Thanks Team Everything Auto for another great video.
lived in the Appalachian Mountains to long. SHOULD BE "lived in the Appalachian Mountains "too" long.
It’s cattiwampus in the Blue Ridge section of Maryland.
Kristen's knowledge of trees is impressive🌲🌳🌴
Yes Jeff. It is a word, and Jeff ALWAYS listen to your wife!
Slip slip slip sliding away. My truck is slipping, I'm a tripping, and my truck wants to continues to the bottom to the hill.
Quick! Call Everything Autos and they will save the day!
Yes, it's absolutely a word. I use it all the time!
Cattywampus. Originating in the Colonial United states and still used in the deep South, cattywampus means something that is in disarray, that is askew, or something that isn't directly across from something. This can refer to the decorations in a room, the position of a building, or someone's attire.
Yes ,"Catywampus" is right there with "Thingamagig" and "whatchamacallit" LOL🤣🤣
I so enjoy hearing you talk. My Mom was from the South and you sound lot like her. She passed away a few years ago and I still miss her.
I checked the Google reviews. wow guys. to no surprise to me you all are 5 ⭐ star
Thanks for taking me with you!
Nice pull on the truck. Blue Mountain Majesty. There is no wonder why I love this state so much. Wish i could fly. If you have never been to the top of Pike's Peak in Colorado, you really need to try to visit. Go in the day and at night. Running the motorcycle clip at high speed is scary as hell. Thanks for the ride and the scenery. Good karma all over. Be safe. Love you.
Yes I have heard that word cattywhampus a lot growing up. Love the veiws.
"cattywampus" and "shoot fire"...two of my favorite words/phrases! Loved the ride up and down the Tail of The Dragon. I've driven it 3 times, in 3 very different vehicles and loved it every time. As for the semi-driver, apparently their GPS shows that road as a shorter route to somewhere. Lesson: Listen to your GPS, but don't follow it blindly! READ THE SIGNS! Thanks for bringing us along, Kristen & Jeff!
Cattywampus and kitty-cornered !! Great words.
I’ve done the Tail of the Dragon several times with my grandson and our Honda Element group. Fun day.
Yes it’s absolutely a word I use it all the time.
Yep, cattywompass definitely a word. It's in my daily vocabulary! As is shootfire😉
You must have nerves of steel or you are like me brave and calm in the face of danger but when you get out from publics eye you ask yourself what was I thinking. Ive seen alot of people who could backup stuff but Jeff Patton is one of the top 2 out of 1 and that means you are the best and beyond
I learned to drive in my mom's 1987 baby blue Aerostar and it was a manual. I loved that van it was a real nice ride.....back in the day.
I love watching you guys, keep up the good work.
Seeing as you have met Matt's off road,I think it would so you good to visit Utah and go out with the various guys and gals,Fab Rats ,Trail Matter,Robby Layton etc and gain some vehicle control tips ,drive some of the rock trails and sand dunes etc ,it would be a hoot and give you more confidence and valuable tuition.🤗
Love how you spend quality family time ,with your boys. Miss spending time with my dad. Watching this brings back great memories when my dad rode his bike
Cattywampus is the same as sidegogglin'...Deals Gap reminds me of the road to my son's church, he lives 13 miles from the church, 11 miles of curves! No straights, no passing areas. Four sport bikes followed me in my '14 Ford Flex (AWD go-kart), I figured they'd pass me but didn't. I miss that Flex...
That was one of the best video rides I've seen in a long time! Thank you so much!
I have heard cattywompass ever since I was a little boy and we live in Northern IN. My dad's family moved up here from Southwest VA back in the 1940's, so they could have brought it up from there.
Caddy=a container (like for people).
Wamp= failure or Wamper-jawed.
Puss= A bad infection or not good.
Lol,...Hope that helps! :)
Yes, cattywompass is a word. Learned it from my grandparents.
Least that truck knows he's number 1 with so many lol. Did the Tail of the Dragon few years back in the truck. May try and convince my wife of doing it in the Jeep. Great recoveries as always. Stay safe out there!!!
Of course, cattywampus is a word down here! And that truck is definitely cattywampus! enjoyed the bike ride. Felt like I was right there! Gorgeous country. Thanks.
I deal with a lot of vans and I have never seen or heard of a manual van news to me. But awesome job
Heard that word on tv years ago and say it a lot!! Yep she's right on target with this one💪🇺🇸😂
Those stick shift minivans are rare and collectible. Seen one on tv. Jay Leno was looking at it.
Good to see you guys having some fun.
Yes cattywampus is a word. It is in my house anyway. Thanks for taking us on the ride. Nice job with the truck and van. And more bears. Awesome video guys.
Yes it is. I’ve used it a bunch. But I had to giggle too when I heard Kristen say it😂
Top of the line van ever made!!!!
From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Synonym: skewampus
2. Synonym of cater-corner (“diagonal to, not directly across from nor adjacent to”).
- City hall is cattywampus to the post office.
Here in Oregon it is a word we use all the time.
Yes cattywampus is definitely a word in our house. Thanks for the great view and for sharing. God bless.
I want to do the tail but hubby says no! Claims our Harley is not made for that drive...don't believe him. Gorgeous view from Wears Valley
Jeff, I definitely enjoyed going along on this ride, I’ve been on that road and went to Fontana dam it was a awesome place to visit. Great towing adventures and got to see a bear 😊. Thanks Jeff and Kristen great 👍🏻 video from Kentucky.
Cattywampus - what a word! We use skew whiff over here to mean the same. That view was breathtaking and then the best seat in the ride down the tail of the dragon. How on earth did that semi get up the mountain in the first place? That was a dangerous decent for others coming the opposite way. Great content once again you guys. Stay safe. Dave Birmingham England.
Cattywompass is word !
I've been waiting for footage on the Dragon, I knew you wouldn't disappoint. I've ridden The Dragon 6 or 7 times. My dream ride is to ride it with all 3 of adult kids ( They all ride). Very surprised to see the tractor trailer . Most trucking companies tell driver's to stay off the Dragon at the risk of losing their jobs if caught!
Looked like a great day to put the beard in the wind
yes, it's a word, especially here in the south
I was gonna say the same. haha Do we talk funny? No you do...
RWD was standard for the Ford Aerostar, IIRC they had a 4WD option. Like the Chevy Astro (also RWD), it was a more truckish minivan than the car based Dodge Caravan they competed with.
Manual was an uncommon option on the Aerostar, but I've driven one back in the late 80s when Aerostars were new.
Nice Ford Aerostar and successful rescue operation as usual . Thank you so much
Definitely a word! I use it constantly!!
Yes It's a word cattywampus -askew awry kitty corner, an imaginary wild animal, savage or destructive. From what I've watched on your channel you could use this word daily. The whole area there seems to cattywampus of some sort😁
Nice work. Beautiful country
Every time I've been on tail of the dragon there's always a big truck having to work its way around the curves while Continuously hitting the horn.
Ford Aerostar manual trans was pretty common in the early 1990’s. My brother had one in 94. The issue was that the 3.0 V6 only made 135 hp, it was a brick and it was famous for blown head gaskets.
Thank You for the view and keep pulling people out of ditch or soft shoulder
beautiful hope you enjoyed yourselves
Love all the videos Keep up the amazing work
Definitely a word. Have used it many times!
Tail of the Dragon, that sound fun! Catywampus is a word in the south lmao! Shame on Jeff for doubting her! I like the how Kristen knows her trees and they work together to figure out which ones they can use. You two make for an awesome team! That was a beautiful view, I love the Mountains and glad I get to live in them in Hawkins County, TN.
How about “ whopper jawed “ ? 🤪😂
Manual transmission Aerostar and shoeless joe.. great work guys
Of all the folks to be behind a possible stuck rig, it's the tow truck guys😂
Huge ticket and im guessing he's fired.
Thanks again for the bike ride! Tail of the dragon is awesome!
Seriously beautiful country where you're at. I was in TN once and I just remember it being flat. lol stay safe out there. 👍
Great to see y'all out and about, gives the rest of the community to see the beautiful country. Although at one point I felt like I had a VR headset on ... thanks for the ride along! Be safe !
Beautiful scenery!
Our favorite place to get away from the daily rat race. Great teamwork to help out folks not familiar with the narrow and challenging roads and driveways. Liked the Tail of the Dragon footage. God bless
And another great vid guys well done
I miss riding all the roads at and around that area, been on the Tail 8 times on the bike, 1 time on the Jeep all the while camping all around that area.
Those guys pawing you riding motorcycles are crazy bc thats how accidents happen please stay safe riding.
Great winch out as always! You and Kristin are a great team!
A buddy of mine had an 87 Aerostar 5 spd standard in burgundy. It rode really nice and smooth when loaded with my buddies 1992 Yamaha 750 Superbike, race fuel, tool box, spare wheels and tires loaded up in it the day I drove it from Mosport Raceway (northeast of Toronto) back to Barrie Ontario. I was surprised on the way it rode. Keep up the great content you two. Always entertaining.
I'm amazed how many years it took for them to restrict trucks on the dragon. One year when i40 was shut down in the nc gorge, dozens of trucks ever day went through there
Good job as always guys!!!
Howdy Jeff n Kristin. It's so good to see you two. I've been going through the older Videos, They all are so good, hugs n love to you two, and Many blessings stay safe.
I have seen trooper called to escort semis off the dragon. I have seen it where they are going from the TN side into the NC side and at the state line the driver gets a double citation from each state. It is a huge inconvenience when a semi truck ends up on the dragon.
Yes absolutely, if you are from the south . That word , cattywompass means many things, but only in the south
It's a word in my vocabulary
The Ford Aerostar was a good vehicle. I have never even heard of one having a manual transmission.
Nice corner turn
Man, that was like a ride at the fair; I almost got motion sickness watching it. But it was a fun ride-along! And yes, catawampus is a word...means askew or awry. 🙂
It is a word down here in the south and a great job at getting the people out of trouble!!!
So beautiful!! Thanks!
Hello from the Netherlands .
thanks for the video EA .
Sincerely, Hollandduck
Yes indeed 😊
Most Definitely! 😂
Boy you guys make a good team!! Love you videos!
Absolutely a word,
If your were at the overlook I think you were, that wasn't Fontana Dam, it was Calderwood Dam.
I had a ford Aerostar that was a 5 speed 4×4 and it got me into places I probably shouldn't have gone lol.
My mom was from NC just across the border of Tenn and KittyWombus is also a word along with kattywombus. Maybe it depends on which mountain you grew up on. Ha!
Jeff you and Kristen did another Great Job Getting the Dodge Pickup truck free and also the Ford Van. It was nice getting away with the Family and going Riding. I miss those Day's you'll see when I meet you in Person. Always be Safe out There and keep the Great Video's Coming.
It’s beautiful 😻
AEJ! It amazes me how amnesia shows up when things go wrong when someone says "ohh I'm not worried about that". That makes my radar go up when I hear that before the job starts. Lol
Rode Tail of the Dragon a few years ago with a friend of mine in a Mini Cooper. Was actually a Mini Cooper Rally with over 400 Minis in attendance. Agreat ride and a pretty place. You guys are awesome keep up the good work!!
Cattywompass is a word. I believed it comes from the south and has various meanings depending on the situation. Man thanks for the dragon that is an amazing drive in a car this was my first time on a motorcycle. Did you you that the Fugitive was film at the dam were Harrison Ford jump out the spill way? Cant wait till the next video.
Thanks for another great video!

You said it it’s a word.
We were in town last week for our 38th anniversary, just don’t like to bother busy people, saw you driving around town, left the day before the fire.
Here in Texas we use the word cattywampus almost daily. Shootfar.Shoot far.. a close second. Lol
