As somebody that’s operated tow trucks for years I can appreciate your wife’s knowledge for pulling angles…..
I’ve watch so many of these lately, I was halfway expecting Kristen to start going “Scratch here…here” as she was filming around the bike 😂
Same!!😂
I so appreciate the way you treat people like you are rescuing your best friend. I also appreciate your sense of humor….”or no wheel drive”. 😂
AAA left my 8.5 month pregnant wife sitting on the side of the road 90° outside is Miami for over 2 hours, promptly fired them, 38 years ago never went back! Love y’all’s channel!
Thank you for the sky bridge view!
Jeff you and Kristen make the Jobs look so easy now and good pull out on the ones in the ditch. Feel sorry for the Person on the Motorcycle because he was enjoying the ride and it caught FIRE. The Insurance Company is going to total it so hope he had FULL COVERAGE if not he Screwed. Y'all be Safe out There and keep the Great Video's Coming.
Thanks for sharing the wounderful beauty of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with us. God bless you all. Stay safe out there.
I am basically binge watching these older videos since I discovered your channel. I have to say I am amazed at how easy you make some of these recoveries look. What a professional you are. I also think many times "How in heck did they get themselves in that predicament?" Thay also make me want to visit the Gatlinburg area. But I am NOT going up in those mountains. I've been in the Ozarks, Black Hills, the Rockies and the Sierras but they are nothing compared to the narrow winding roads of those Smokies. WOW! Great job and great videos.
Yep, I dropped AAA way back in 1996 when I was stranded at a Walmart in San Antonio for 4 hrs. They sent 3 different trucks to tow my Dodge Ram full size pickup, all three said it was too big to tow. I asked for a company that would tow me and they said nobody tows full size pickups…I called another tow company and was home in 45 mins. That company said all 3 of the other companies had “dropped” pickups while towing and totaled them so they still take the calls and claim they’re too big…he said they had a problem with speeding while towing. Turns out my trucks ignition switch was bad, I fixed it the next day myself. I’ve not had to be towed since…knock on wood.
I have to say, I would never have gotten to see what this part of the US looked like if I hadn’t of found your channel! I love it!
Jeff & Kristen, I'm always impressed how you are able to get folks' vehicles out of the predicaments their in. Very nice views off Campbell's Lead. Bad fuel leak on the motorcycle? We appreciate ya!!
Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery.
Yall always show respect and profesionalism.
You absolutely do fabulous pulling out of ditches and I've seen that a lot and you do it better what I've seen
You do a great service to help people!
Yep,,, another excellent video !!! You guys continue to be awesome stewards of Good Service to help the public !! Outstanding !!! And as always, pet those pups and give them a treat.. HooAh?
Such beautiful views! Thanks for sharing💕
Great job !! Thanks for helping them. Different driving in these mountains
Beautiful scenery here in TN. You do a great job. Stay safe and God Bless
Enjoyed the scenery. Great Jobs you two.
Another great video! Thank you guys!
The scenery is spectacular. The cloud over the mountains looks like a big thick down comforter. The caterpillar will turn into a beautiful pollinating butterfly. The biker had a very close call. That melted metal and rubber is going to be hard to get off the roll-back.
My first love rode a Sportster. I loved that bike but I loved him more.
Amen to the Foothills Parkway (west side) for the dark skies - but sometimes ya gotta keep a secret!
A HOT Harley !!
A smokin' hot Harley! 😅
Great views guys. So glad that the guy on the Harley wasn't hurt, his bike is destroyed, however. Nice winch outs too. You guys are awesome as always.
I was thinking just as you arrived at the first job "The driver is an impatient young man, less than 30 years old." Been there, done that. I should have visited Gatlinburg several decades ago and walked some of those paths and the bridges. They do look like fun.
Nice video guys. Pleasure meeting you the other day 😀
That Harley will be just fine! A little rubbing compound, some polish, be back on the road tomorrow! 😮😊Glad he wasn’t hurt, on a serious note, he is a lucky guy. Not a nice way to end your summer.
Worked for actual AAA Here in Cincinnati for 5 years we was not allowed to go past the 275 loop drop off yes but to pick up no but the drop off was limited to ten ish miles....
Beautiful, views of Gatlinburg mountains and the sky bridge. Sorry to see that old Harley end up like that. Thanks Jeff and Kristen awesome video today. 👍🏻 from Kentucky
Beautiful country to live and work in guys. People are lucky to have y’all do what you do :) Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along:)
i looked up property for sale in that area just for laughs and giggles and jeez LOL
Great job as always!
Beautiful view!!
That was a spicebush swallowtail caterpillar. Turns into a pretty black and blue butterfly.
Entertaining as always,no volume issues here.
As always you guys are johnny on the spot awesome!
Great video and thank you for showing off the Beauty of where you guys are, simply amazing views there! What a wonderful world we live in!
Again thank God no one was hurt and everyone walks away to call you guys again if needed! Thank you guys for everything you all do to help everyone that needs it!
GOD BLESS AND STAY SAFE OUT THERE!
Great video again guys love watching what y’all do !!
I have had AAA for many years, and when I've needed them, I was always around our area. I would tell them I'd be happy to call my tow company, and they've always been fine with that. You may not always know a "quality" tow company, but if you volunteer to call yourself, you'll get better service, and most accept the AAA payment. Just my experience
I’ve had the same problem and even had to wait 24 hours to get a tow. This 24 wait was during the summer and during a non busy time. The only problem was the priority places on AAA’s call list refused to accept my tow. So each time I was refused I went to the bottom of the list.
Member of AAA for 45 years. Excellent experience, auto, homeowner and rental insurance. Totally satisfied.
How scary! Glad the guy was able to get off the bike and not get hurt!
Thanks for showing us some of the sights like Sky Lift Park. It looks really cool! Interesting how we can live somewhere and yet not visit the local places/attractions. 🤔
At least a he young man had a beautiful view while waiting. Thank goodness I have roadside assistance with my insurance, card they find someone close to where I am, it only takes minutes sometimes 30 minutes no longer. Thank goodness the man didn't get hurt when his motorcycle burned
If possible can you get some of the great views of the mountain valleys in the fall when the leaves are changing colors? Always loved those views.
Seen you guy at Rod run! That was a goal of mine over the weekend!
Well that was kind of eerie with what was left of the Harley emitting steam while laid on the flatbed! 😕.
We do the Nature Trail every trip, last Wed. the guy behind me was driving an early 2000s Dodge 4x4 with a huge in-bed camper! It always amazes me what folks drive across that skinny road and the haphazard parking they do! The Skybridge is AWESOME! We don't do it every time down though. I always drive up to Ober and ride the ski lift to the very top, $10 per person. It's always way cooler than downtown (temperature wise), quiet, and BEAUTIFUL. Tis a shame to see a Harley burnt like that...
You gotta watch out for those little ditches in Tennessee. They're a lot deeper than they first appear! lol That Harley sounds like it wanted to become the Gatlinburg Ghost Rider. 😲
For some reason seeing the motorcycle smoking reminded me of the movie Christine.......Great movie. yep showing my age LOl.
The loss of the Harley is just sad.
All the years I've been going to Gatlinburg, and even lived in the area in my youth, I never realized there was a road behind the sky bridge. LOL
We are coming to pigeon forge next week for the National Quartet Convention. It’s good to know who I can call if we need rescuing!
As always a very nice job guys
I had AAA premier for over a 10 years. They normally we're pretty good if I ever needed a toe or gas, or such. But when I was in North Dakota it took them over 8 hours to show up and then the guy didn't have enough gas to get back home. He asked if there was a gas station and I said yeah he does do they have Diesel and I said well it's farmland so probably however it's after nine at night on a Sunday night so they're not going to be open until in the morning.
Then one of my sons who was also on my plan was visiting in Wisconsin and he ended up in a ditch and a snowbank and they didn't show up for over 6 hours. The final straws were when I had to have my vintage VW bus towed home and it was only a mile but the tow truck driver hooked the tension line to my steering damper, which is nothing more than a small shock absorber. I could hear it snap as he tightened down the cable. When we got to my house he unloaded it and literally did skid marks in my driveway to get away before I could get the car started and moved. I called them to complain and to file a claim but they said that I had a $50 deductible but the dampner was only $25 , 2 bolts and something I could replace myself.
Then I was driving my vehicle and I picked up a one inch bolt in my tire. And my spare was actually the original spare for that vehicle and that vehicle was a nineteen ninety-eight Toyota and to my surprise it was flat just due to age. I called for toe and they refused me saying they had no one available and they couldn't get to me until the next day and I was over 10 miles from home and I'm disabled so they expected me to roll 10 miles home. And they would give me my car when they got to it. I just drove it to the closest tire place by my home. And I got 5 brand-new tires, luckily the one with the bolt in it had not gotten flat but just as they went to inspect the tire it letgo as the head of the bolt had worn off and it started leaking air then.
I cancelled AAA that very day.
You should consider moving your PTO up idle switch to the back somewhere as well. Its painfull to watch you run to the cab for that back and forth! 😁
Just found your site. Enjoy your videos. God must give y’all patience--not sure I could handle some of the situations y’all find yourselves in. By the way--great beard. Stay safe.
I can smell that motorcycle burning through my phone.
Hey 👋👋😊 Jeff and Kristen Thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was just in Gatlinburg this weekend, was on that same road and went up on Greystone Heights and followed it all the way up to Ski View Dr. It was fun being in an F350 DRW, everyone wanted to be in my lane and I take up all of it. Nice views though, including a bear.
Y’all be safe out there and thanks for letting us tag along
Also drove the motor trail last time and barely slid by with my avalanche in some places due to people parked half way on the road!
Oh, that’s Sky Bridge! Thank you!
That caravan probably totaled im guessing and good job on the first nissan you pulled out!!! Great views also! We drove that last time we were there and saw some of the old fire damage up there above gatlinburg!
I love it when you show the countryside, next time I get a chance to get down that way love to meet you all have family in close to Knoxville lutrall
What a day!
I used to have roadside assistance with my insurance it was only 35 cents a month but I've tried using it 3 times and each time I ended up calling a private company after waiting. I did get reimbursed though.
Good job on the second altima as well!
Show them how it's done Jeff. Great job your friends (Shoey).
AAA provides little to no value. Purchase Towing from your Auto insurance company.
I think mine is $1.10/month. If my vehicle needs a tow for any reason, I can call, pay, and submit receipt to agent. My agent writes a check and mails within a day of receiving receipt. This type "claim" does not affect rates.
Love the Channel.
Semper Fi
PS I have State Farm. Been insured since 16 (parents) my own policy at 19. I just turned 61.
We have had the same experience
Hello from the Netherlands and thanks for the video. Sincerely, Hollandduck
You guys are awesome
I love Tennessee 999+🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 FC Thailand🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
Love Foothills Parkway. Don’t rely on your motor club!!! Always have tow funds!!
Jeff you have the patience of a saint. As you know AAA just doesn’t pay their contractors anything remotely close to retail rates so they don’t want to be to be there contractors.
They thought they could dictate what we could charge for services (we were already the cheapest tower in town)
We told them to eat shit.
You might have had to use the kick starter, but it would’ve started. 😂
Second truck shows up too late 😂
I don't get more than a few feet off the Ground, But it is a heck of a View !
Sky Bridge is awesome from a far 😂
I think we live in one of the prettiest areas of the country.
Real enjoy all your videos. I’m sure you’ve thought about this but have thought about adding some extra PTO switches at the back of your truck, just thinking it would cut down in some trips back and forth 🤔😁
It’s smokin in the smokies!
💨🏔 🏔🛻🪝.
Dave. Birmingham England.
I feel for the guy….we canceled AAA too. Last yr on our way to PF we had a blowout (actually 2, at different times. One in Athens and one in Knoxville) on our camper, we called for the Knoxville one and they couldn’t help us at ALL. Absolutely will not renew when it comes due. No reason, money wasted 😖😡😫 I definitely know who to call if ever in PF or Gatlinburg 😊
AAA was probably handy in the days before you could Google towing and roadside assistance in 30 seconds from most phones.
I canceled my AAA after three bad experiences. The final straw was my car had a wreck during a snowstorm and was partially blocking the left lane of an interstate.
AAA said they'd be out in less than a half hour. First provider arrived and refused to tow because the vehicle was unattended (There was no safe place for me to stay - almost no shoulder on either side). 2nd provider said they'd tow the unattended vehicle if I met them close by (Easy enough, I was at a restaurant just off the next exit) - They never showed up. 12 hour later, the car was towed by the State Police. By the first tow company that initially refused the tow through AAA. Charged me $500 plus $300 storage for 24 hours (Couldn't get back over there because of the snow). AAA only would reimburse me $250.
Added roadside assistance through my insurance for less than AAA cost me per year and have been extremely happy with the service the two times I've called them since.
Thank you for sharing the AAA experience, we get these stories daily and it’s not fair.
You are getting to be a expert on the wheel pull
Next time on the trail, video the end of it to show how crazy the last couple of bridges are.
AAA Oregon will look out side of network we do it all the time for are members
Please do. I don’t know if I will ever get back down there. Walk the bridge. Thank you. I’m getting to old.
Loved the episode . I would definitely call you before triple A. Did anything else happen over the last police tow.
RIP to the Harley Sportster.
As with cars this can happen after it's been in for repairs. But, not by the dealer The last vehicle fire I worked was a Mercedes that was worked on by a mom and pop garage where they repaired some wiring under the hood and they had to remove one fuel rail and a fuel line but they didn't use the Mercedes fuel line clamps when they put the reinstalled the fuel line and fuel rail. The car developed and small fuel leak and the repaired wiring arced.
Maybe the owners insurance will get him a shiny new one.
I'm not sure about your state but in Texas AAA is territory based rarely are there more than one provider for a zip code. when a primary provider declines they attempt to reroute to the next closest provider until they find a in network provider. I've only seen few cases where they reach out to out of network. but every state has a dispatching office in that state that only dispatches for that specific state. so in recent times they have had issues with employment and that will impact that states ability to get a provider to customers. hope that gives you a better insight into AAA and how they do things.
Is this the same area where a guy went over in the snow in the curve and went way down in there
That guy was lucky.
We dropped AAA years ago. I am the self appointed queen of finding nails, screws and even bolts about a half inch diameter anywhere and everywhere……they aren’t very good for your tires. 🤦🏼♀️We have roadside assistance with our insurance company, but have never had to use their services…..so I don’t actually know how good the assistance is. It’s REALLY bad when you go to have a tire repaired and they tell you need a new one because the tire has been patched too many times!! 😱🤫😳😳…..yep, that’s me. ….hanging my head.
I've got both of my right tires plugged lol
Your yellow caterpillar is a beautiful large hawk moth I believe
Is someone scamming? I don't recall you giving something away
I'd say that Harley is toast..
After more than 30 years of AAA, I cancelled them! Last straw was breaking down on the FL Turnpike. Tucked against a barrier with cars flying by, inches from me at 80mph, the TT guy called and said he was looking for me on I-95. Telling him I'm on the TP, he said he couldn't come. AAA never followed up with me, leaving me stranded without a/c. Thank God, a State Farm Road Ranger rescued me. On another call they said 1 hour, then 1 1/2 hour later, told me they said 2 hours, they'll lie to cover.
And sometimes it takes a while for us to be able to get out to are members in Oregon we have over 1 million members so we do get slammed and out of network stops running calls after 9pm for aaa
Yup, super long wait times for Motor clubs/AAA/insurance etc... not unusual at all. especially in bad weather. 90% of the time citizens are better off to google a local towing company & just pay for service & submit the receipt for reimbursement. Avoid the middleman. when you call the company directly.. you're thier direct customer, not going 3rd party thru separate companies that are all trying to get paid since they're a business too.... Cash is King.. always be a direct customer, you'll get better. faster service & the company can get the details they need so they bring the right equipment.
Does dragging the vehicles sideways by the wheels mess anything up? Like suspension or alignment?
How in the world did they get the building materials to some of these properties? The roads seem to narrow for big trucks??
