- Dear friends
After one week’s break I’m back again, however I’m not so sure about the next video though since the infection numbers have increased a few folds in the past few days. Even if I’m willing to take the risk of filming the vendors and outlets but I wonder if they are willing to open. Hopefully things will improve and let’s pray that we don’t have to go through another lock down. Meanwhile please stay safe and healthy although I can’t encourage you to go out physically to support the local street food now, perhaps you can consider delivery order. Thanks and see you in the next
新年快樂,百無禁忌,身體健康! 流口水了!
Thank you Mr. Lee for another episode for Ipoh, my hometown! It does bring back lots of wonderful memories! Thank you 😊
Thanks Aileen ipoh is home to the best street food
Keep doing what you are doing Mr. Lee! i enjoy your video lots especially your introductions where you share history / background of the dishes - and in this video the "rationale" behind CNY taboos
Thanks for the support

Thanks Garry for the continued support
Incredible video as always Mr. Lee, love it so much ✨😊
My ears pricked up over’Haw Hee’ and ‘Tofu Fa ‘with ‘Tong Yuan!! ‘Mmmm! Must on my eat list next in Ipoh!!
Thanks for the information on CNY superstitions! Wasn’t aware there are so many!! Hard to keep up!! 🤩🤩🤩
Another great video!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Happy cny. Take care your health eating after many food at one go haha. Good recommendations. Thanks👍👍👍
Thanks
Your cantonese is so good. All the Chinese phrases are beyond me.
Some of the beliefs are practical, but some are too stressful to follow.
Thanks for sharing all yummy food🤩🤩🤩.
Thanks these taboos r mostly believed by cantonese though
Thank you Elmo for another good episode on Ipoh's Food and featuring Ipoh's Stadium Medan Selera. A couple of other good stalls includes - Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun, Seng Loong's Char Kuey Teow , Ming Kee Wantan Mee ( closed as illustrated in your esisode - also one of the more higher priced Wantan Mee in Ipoh - but it's very good and have that Cantonese Wantan Mee smell and taste ) and Ipoh's rojak and Yau Yee Oong Choy ( cuttle fish with kangkong ) and Just nicely boiled See Hum with it's special chilli sauce ( used to be a corner stall prepared by an elderly "plumb"uncle and wife - before the renovation). Thank you again and Happy Chinese New Year 2022 Elmo.
Tis is good info choong. Many thx
Glad that you have broken the porridge taboo. It's all in the mindset. Don't let taboo hinder your lifestyle. Really like your videos.
Thanks we have to take cny taboos with a pitch of salt
well done, elmo ! keep up the good work
Yeah. The name "Hor Hee" is a strange term for non-Ipoh/non-Kinta Valley folks. Fortunately I am familiar with it since my dad is from Gopeng
Happy Chinese New Year and good health always 🙏✌️
好精彩。carry on eating
Many years ago l tried one gerai with super fine shaved ice " chap suet". The texture of the shaved ice really made the taste special on any hot day.
Thanks what I really really missed is the shaved ice ball which is now available in concubine lane
Nice vdo
Welcome back after a long break for everyone, Elmo!
Thanks john
well done, wish I can go to Ipoh soon
Thanks from Germany !
Thanks from Malaysia
Elmo hoo hee has been very popular noodle soup in Ipoh only you can only get this in Ipoh in all over Malaysia.
That's right danny hor hee is only exclusive to ipoh
Two tofu Fa places I recommend are Big Mom Beancurd and Woong Kee Beancurd. Both are located a stone's throw from each other. They are just as good as funny mountain without the price. Quite near to that Nasi Ganja place.
Thanks for the recommendation yoon
新年快乐,身体健康。
虎年行好运
Gong xi fatt Chai Elmo , good food in Stadium Ipoh i love to eat curry kon lou bestt:) and give big tumbs up to you Elmo bawa makan makan :) wait for your next chapter of makan makan.
Tx Norman for support
"Hor Hee" is actually fish ball noodles of Teochow. But seldom you heard of it out of Ipoh.
Yes john, ho hee is also a teochew translation
Very good video

The taufoofar is interesting 😋
Yes I was v impressed too
👍👍👍👏👏
I assume you took only one bite per meal, there is no way you could have finished all the food
Thanks teoh although I didn't finished every dish but I definitely ate for than a bite
👌👌👌
哇! 文哥你一天里面吃甘多嘢啊?😳
对我有点辛苦
I never knew the Cantonese associated things like porridge as being poor because that's the same in my culture and our saying like... it's better to eat your own old porridge than a rich man's deserts etc. I probably think there was some truth to it in the olden ages. Anyway a belated Gong Xi Fatt Chai.
Thanks rajesh guess porridge isn't a popular dish for the affluent
@@malaysiafood328 exception being teochew muay I guess.. It's 配菜 esp fish are not cheap
