  • We Haven’t Even Seen The Better Twin Yet…
    Not only were they the first prospects in history to make it to the NBA through a private prep program like OverTime Elite. As we saw in one of our last videos, Amen and Ausar were the first twins in NBA history to be selected in the Top 5 of the same draft. But even though both are a carbon copy of each other, both in looks and playstyle, it is clear that there are… certain differences between them.
    Because in the end, it is the details that serve to choose one prospect over another in the draft, and even more so in the case of two players who start from almost the same skill set. And the truth is that even though Ausar has been superior during the OverTime Elite training camp, achieving 2 MVPs in the Finals of the circuit, the Houston Rockets decided to draft his brother. But... who is really Amen Thompson? and? What are the reasons for him to be selected in the draft before Ausar?
    In today’s video, we discuss how We Haven’t Even Seen The Better Twin Yet… Amen Thompson has emerged as the star for the Houston Rockets.

      I'm a Pistons fan and I'd say Amen, but the flip side is Ausar is close and has a better chance of fitting in off ball. Amen is a more risk-reward. I'm not sure what he does with his game if he's not the primary. Seems like it could be rocky like Ben Simmons. Ausar is just much more plugged in to making an impact in limited touches. He is also the more instinctual defender. He can't help himself from being a dog on D, where I think Amen is a little more hot / cold on that end. We are splitting hairs, they're twins.

      Amen will be a great 2way pg, probably favorite player in the league outside of wemby

    Amen has the highest potential the way he can pass and find his teammates and being able to get to the rim with his athleticism is really a sight to see as a rockets fan.Not to mention he showing out to be a good cutter to the basket as well
    Also his rebounding and defense is really good too going to be a nice two way player as of right now he reminds me of Ben Simmons.
    As for Asuar he has the same qualities as his brothers with the rebounding and getting to the rim but he a bit of a better shooter and that’s because unlike Amen he plays at the 3 compared to the one.
    Asuar probably has the higher floor due to him being a little of bit of a better shooter but Amen has the higher ceiling by far

    • @kalebdaniels
      @kalebdaniels 11 месяцев назад

      Trust me. Just because Monty has Ausar at the 3pt line, does not mean he's a passable shooter. Its just bad offense. Monty should have Ausar posted in the dunker spot similar to how Houston Utilizes Amen in the dunker spot. Ausar has the higher floor because he the better defender (specifically shot blocking and Rebounding. Amen is better at stealing and playing passing lanes), and off ball mover (As of now). If Detroit could run some competent Offense, Ausar would be a great rim runner, similar to how Aaron Gordon is utilized in Denver.
      Actually, Ironically enough, at the time of this message they're both shooting 15% from the 3, with Amen shooting .003% better. The stigma around Ausar being a better shooter is because his shot mechanics looked a bit better than Amen coming into the draft. I can tell you they both suck and this shouldn't be brought up in discussion on who's better until one of them is shooting at least 29-30% from 3, because it otherwise doesn't make much difference.

    I see Amen as a 6'7 version of Ja without some of the talent but that will come with age and experience. I see Ausar as a 6'7 Marcus Smart but more athletic. Ausar has a higher floor but Amen is definitely less developed at this point but I think his higher basketball IQ will definitely help him have a higher ceiling than his brother.

    • @kalebdaniels
      @kalebdaniels 11 месяцев назад

      I would say less scoring talent, Much higher defensive potential and Iq for that Amen-Ja comp. And unfortunately I don't see Ausar's jumpshot getting anywhere close to Marcus Smart. But if he can get them to fall, his floor is raised Exponentially.

    • @sammadison1172
      @sammadison1172 11 месяцев назад

      @@kalebdaniels - Ausar has shot 32% for stretches before. Marcus Smart was a .300 shooter his first 4 years. Ausar's going through another mechanic change. Not getting 'anywhere close' could be correct, but it sounds exaggeratory. I could see it going either way with him always being a real twitchy bad shooter or becoming better than Smart. Either way, neither of these guys has to rely on 3 ball as much. If I had to pick I'd say Amen may need one more as guys who can't shoot with the ball.. we've seen how much it hurts. From Westbrook & Simmons to Killian Hayes. It kills your team

    The fact they took away all of Ausar’s minutes after a great start to the season for him just hurts. He’s on a shit team that’s not winning so there’s no reason not to be developing him. Truly could be one of the best defenders we have ever seen on the perimeter. His brother is better offensively by a bit for sure but Ausar has sooooooo much defensive potential

    Both are great but Amen is in better position to develop. He’s coming off behind Fred who is one of the efficient passer in the league with less pressure to show out every game. Asur is in a position where even rookies gotta produce to stay in the line-up and them waiving off Killian Hayes who they put lots of stocks in him this season show anyone could be in trade/chopping block.
