I don’t know what they were thinking on this theme. Seems like they had some sculpt designs for a different game and just threw them together here. I’m in for a dollar just in case they have some crossover packs for MD2 or Black Plague/Green Horde. Might snag a few of the expansions if so.
Seems like a mismatch in theme and setting for this Zombicide, as many of the scantily clad stretch goal characters would be more worried about frostbite than bites from zombies in this frigid icy ruined Wintergrad location for White Death.
I appreciate your point of view! They really messed up by forcing this as a "sequel" to BP/GH, in my opinion. It was such a polarizing decision. I don't understand it.
I definitely agree 100% about the comment about how this should have been an elvish expansion and would have fitted perfectly well in the black plague/green horde theme and I would have backed it all the way but this feudal Japan is not for me so I'll be passing on this one. Such a wasted opportunity for cmon as an elvish theme would have made them a stack of money which is obviously one of their major goals.
Glad to see that some people are enjoying the new theme too. In pursuit of innovation/updating Zombicide, CMON had to spice things up a little. I get it. Unfortunately it's not our cup of tea.
What theme is that? A hodgepodge of different asian cultures mixed together in a tower defense game that evokes the great wall in Game of Thrones but doesn't deliver anything like it?
@@Gamebent1 You don't have to back every KS campaign right? Just skip this! For me I enjoy the Asian theme so much, especially The Three Kingdoms and Samurai
By my count there are only five elves across BP and GH even with the kickstarter stretch goals. All their bios hint at elves being reluctant to enter this war. At some point they have to get involved 😂
I am still in... but only because the core game is western enough to attach to plack plague and green horde... the mongols are eastern but not that much different... I will probably get some of the add-ons also.. the crossbow guys as well as the berserkers.. maybe... it is mainly the stretch-goals that are trash for me. firstly, the bury me under a pile of survivors .. again (I became annoyed with green horde).... to a point were the zombies are the minority... secondly, and here I agree, the theme of chinese-japanese-furry-manga is just not my cup of tea. The best stretch goal was the first for the crossover cards. My hope is, that later I will be able to sell all the stretch goals to some nerd collector and lessen the financial impact.
I SO MUCH agree with your comment. I pledged for the base game on launch and then kept adding on content as it was revealed - all the way up to $260.00 - all the while thinking to myself that I don't like this very much. Then last night I cancelled everything. I'm not into the whole Asian stuff AT ALL. Most of the minis in the stretch goals just all basically look the same - overly long and abundant hair (literally to the ground and looking more like a cape), plus ridiculously elaborate clothing that looks more like costumes. The theme looks totally out of place for Black Plague. And the whole "furry" thing is a total turn off (maybe in a cartoon themed zombicide, but not a supposedly Black Plague compatible release). The Furries don't even fit the Asian theme in my opinion. Ughh!
Every furry they rolled out is one that will sit in the box or be sold. The big miss.. and mish mash was not including any Eastern European or Russian survivors outside the original six. Bunch of half naked Chinese heros fighting in a Russian city called Wintergrad.
@@lthudgins Yeah, there are some elements of other culture, but the majority of the elements are comes from chinese culture. By the way, a lot of asian culture is heavily influenced by chinese culture during Tang dynasty, Song dynasty, Yuan dynasty, Ming dynasty, and Qing dynasty of China. Including the culture of japan. Therefore what you think is east asia culture maybe infact roots back to chinese culture.
@@lthudgins For Example, lots and lots of Ghosts, Monsters, and Yaoguai in Japanese Culture are come from an ancient chinese book "Shan Hai Jing(山海经)" which is written in Qin dynasty(秦朝) during 221 BCE~207 BCE
Theme and gamplay seem fine... if this wasnt recycled over and over. Youre completely right: if you already own a zombicide, Marvel Zombies, DCeased, massive Darkness 1 or 2... even Chthulu DMD are exceptionally similar. They have a game formula and just reskin it.
Hate the mish mash of asian themes. If they had picked one culture (Japanese/Chinese/Mongolian/Indian) then it would have felt consistent and thematic. Sadly I'll be skipping this one.
The day they do a game set in ancient greek mythology I will go all in. I'll throw my wallet at the screen and jump with happiness.
What's to not like of the South Park Simulator? G0d D@mn Mongolians broke down my Sh!tty Wall!!
I agree, and your honesty is very refreshing. It’s good, but I have too much Zombicide already.
Thanks for your support. We're aiming for short and honest videos!
Well, the TMNT expansion made the game "unboring" again - for me at least.
Zombicide: White Death looks surprisingly identical to Okko Chronicles: Cycle of Earth, which launched it's KS one year ago.

I hope they do one in proper feudal japan. I see some of that in here... but not quite right for the setting too? Why are they in Europe?

Really love the theme

04:53 I'm glad there's no elf edition, and I'm very excited about the current theme. To be honest, that's the only reason I'm supporting it.

I felt the same, but the metrics shows it will cross 3 million. which will fall in line with the others.
What cmon needs to do is sell expansion decks and replacement cards for their midieval zombicide 🤦♂️
Yeah, I canceled my pledge, the asian theme doesn’t match black plague, too bad.
Me too. I pledged immediately and the more I delved into the game the more I didn’t like the theme. Maybe Vikings would have been better.

it's not japanese theme. The majority of the elements are chinese theme.
You're right. That's my bad.
They dropped a set with only Japanese RL characters so it's really a mix of East Asia

Bro they have literal Tokugawa as a hero. There’s a whole Japanese and Chinese box of historic characters each
