I had the worst experience of my life this morning. I left the Tiger 59 on the front seat of my car and some bastard broke in and left two more 😡

I think the air defence nonsense comes from the fact that its AA guns were fully automatic 3-incher mounts, and they were actually very good IRL if a bit unreliable, and the 6-inch guns on the Tiger were fully dual purpose and were capable AA guns when they worked.
tbf WeeGee's definition of "air defense cruiser" seems to be "gives you slightly bigger damage numbers against planes that will still strike you anyways".
@@able_archer01 I always thought of it more as 'yup, this will give you *fabulous* defence against the air. The planes in that air, not so much' kinda deal....
The issue is that air defence was seen as in the late 40's to early 1980's as a case of 'your fucked but here's some weapons to make you think you have a chance'.
Air defence really was a case of relying on either being far enough from enemy land based aircraft or you carrier and land based aircraft protecting you rather than defending yourself.
Sorry Jingles. The tiger class were built on derivatives of the Fiji hulls that had construction stopped at war end about 60% complete. And then retrofitted with the new turrets and rebuilt to accomodate new technology. They should have been in service early/mid 50s but funding issues and delays with getting the turrets workable meant they entered service about 10 years late.
And the Minotaur class would have been built on derivates of Fiji hulls that had construction stopped at war end. So like I said - originally supposed to be Minotaurs.

In fairness, while the HMS Tiger's AA suite is a grand total of 6 76mm guns in three double mounts, these are post-WW2 fully automatic, radar-guided 76mm guns firing HE-VT shells at 70 RPM per barrel. And four dual-purpose 6" guns slinging HE-VT as well at between 15 and 20 rounds per minute is nothing to sneeze at either. Or, well. it *shouldn't* be anything to sneeze at.
Not that wargaming, y'know, bothers to model AA accurately at all or anything. Or else the Tiger(and the worcester, des moines, salem, etc) would be no-fly zones on account of being absolutely bristling with fully automatic 3" and 6" guns firing HE-VT. But we couldn't have that, could we?
I mean look at 4:33. As the Tiger fires at the incoming aircraft, it looks like its firing with a flurry of light autocannon fire. Despite the HMS Tiger literally not having any light AA. Where are those machinegun tracers even coming from, wargaming? Are the crew coming up from below deck with their .50 cals and vickers guns and manning the railings?
Actually Jingles. The Ipiranga does not get the 9.1 inch secondaries. The older T8 premium dockyard ship - Atlantico has the 9.1 inch secondaries, along with the T9 and T10 Pan Am BB's. Ipiranga has to make do with 6 inch secondaries.
I have her on TWO separate accounts. Played a tonne of games on both accounts and have both on 199k XP ready for when the line comes out of early access.

Remote sub detection and ASW? Drop the consumable, detect subs for 30 secs in a AoE, if sub is detected, airdrop 2 homing torps?
@@benjaminsmith3364How the homing torps track the subs not matter their depth. They can be avoided only with damage control but the cooldown bears damage control.

HMS Tiger, HMS Lion, and of course the other large predatory cat in the world, the HMS... um.... Blake. Can't say I've ever seen a Blake in the wild though. Or pictures of one in a book. But I'll bet it's really powerful and one excellent predator that is only topped by the Tiger and Lion. Yes. That must be it. Or "Blake" is the code name for a head of lettuce that outlasted Liz Truss.

I mean I approve of improving the bots' capabilities and all - for a more interesting challenge - but honestly watching a Wisconsin out turn my Fubuki?? Come on!

Luckily for the Tiger, the Independence is a type of aircraft carrier that does not get secondary guns. If it had those, the Tiger wouldn't have survived...
Um actually Jingles, the Ipiranga only has 6 inch secondary. You have to come up to tier 9 with the Los Andes to get those juicy 9.2 inch secondary. 😂
Contrary to Los Andes and Libertad, Ipiranga only has 6' secondaries (152mm) as well as lower caliber (127 mm If I'm not mistaken)
Hang on Jingles…before the helicopter conversion…this thing had 2 quad sea cat launchers, now don’t get me wrong see cat is as bad as well…as bad as it gets…so then! WaRgAmInG why isn’t Tiger 59 the best air defence cruiser at least in its tier of not the whole game…oh that’s right cause you take pity on the poor poor harmless wittle carriers…

The Ipiranga does not have 234mm secondaries. Only standard 127mm and 152mm.
I used to have a plastic model of this ship. Matchbox, 1/700th scale. PURPLE plastic, Jingles... PURPLE. It was the suckiest plastic model too....

There was one Russian cruiser release years ago. I think it was like Tier IV or V. Was awful. Had small DD caliber guns. Miss those days.
The Krasny Krym? Oh god I remember that. You're actually sort of correct on both counts with the tier - it's the Russian tech tree tier 4 with some tiny upgrades and up-tiered to 5.
This ship was unilaterally nerfed with the huge commander skill buff and rework... It cannot take advantage of all those DD caliber gun improvements

Crappy AA"" - shoots down well over 30 airplanes. LOL - I bet my JB has better air defense - the Tiger has shot down far more than my record in the JB by at least 1/3rd. If the CV was any higher tier - the Tiger would have been dead long ago as the bombs do so little damage with the CV 2 tiers lower.
Freezing on the replay can be caused by hardware - is it happening with all replays?

Watching him charge into the enemy spawn, in a Tiger 59 alone, reminds of that scene in Band of Brothers where Capt. Speirs charges through the enemy lines, and they're too dumbfounded to react.
Walked passed HMS Tiger on my way to joining HMS Norfolk in 1976 and was thinking look at those massive guns, foolishness of youth LOL love the content
I'm not a fan of the '59, BUT a clan-mate does really well in it. Moreover, it's win rate on the NA server is one of the HIGHEST in the game. It's average dmg is low, but better than several 'better' ships, including Tallin (one of my fav), Edinburgh, Congress, Eugen, but it's win rate is second, ONLY to Bayard and the ARP Maya. I've no explanation, but the numbers don't lie.
Anybody notice the name of his division mate? "ImLate." So the enemy team had to choose to shoot at "imEarly" or "ImLate". Love it!
Why they can't give this poor ship Hydro, HE and Sub surveillance is beyond ridiculous.
If in any other carrier, the CV would have won. On the Independence the rockets and divebombers are unlimited consumables, which is why he lobbed torp bombers constantly as they are the only planes that cycle.
He played really well. I can guarantee that if I had been in the same situation in my Atago, I probably would have died when facing the multiple BBs and CVs.
This driver tho... tanking 3 T8 battleships in the worst ship in the game!
Then again, if I had anything else to shoot at, I would shoot that first
Best Tiger '59 game I've seen! Congrats! I must say it is even more remarkable taking into account how bad 1/2 his team was! He carried this (with a couple good team mates) in spite of being in the Tiger '59! :) That W Virginia should take up cargo ships.
Kinda sad that all the fantasy cruisers have some crazy values because nobody could proof otherwise but a real ship has kinda realistic values and look like shit. I mean, they had the chance to make it at least an AA monster. Why doesn't it have hydro? Balance it at least somehow if it is one a few ships in wows that actually existed. Because by now there are more fantasy ships than actual ones i guess
The Tiger 59 is tier 8, meaning it can presumably be fighting ships such as the French Tier IX battleships, and an Iowa. Both are battleships with very large guns that can run this thing down because it's so slow.
Even dealing with the after effects of a hurricane and without power since last Thursday. Jingles brings a smile to my face. "They're like vegans..."

So they took a Minotaur, introduced a baseball bat to its kneecaps and threw it into T8 matchmaking where it can actually meet a certain British CL in T10 and the only two advantages it has is smoke+radar and the pity of the enemy team. Genius.
I dunno... The Itchy-Coochy (Ishizuchi) is/was pretty rough to play. Still though, what this guy did with the Tiger is nothing short of phenomenal.

Its funny because Helicopters at this point at least early ones wouldn't hurt the game much.
They'd be easy enough to shoot down, so you'd want to use them vs dd's and mostly subs, they could provide abit more vision but that is already a bad thing- but it couldn't make the game worse.
They could also drop sonar thingies and limited mines/torpedos, or hover just to extend the ships sight range slightly as long as its not in range of AA fire.
None of these would really make the ship more worth playing though.. but it'd be an interest gimmick if you include them on some underpowered ships.. problem is wargaming would release a pay for ship that has helicopters that can't be shot down do more damage etc.. only to nerf it later.
When he clearly, didn't give himself enough of a handicap, for his next trick, send him in a custom battle, in a t6 ship, any of his choice, against t9s. Maybe then, the other players would stand a chance. :D Such a comprehensive schooling...
Poor Jingles…..patches from several years ago want their “AA is shit” mantra back. Play a CV once in a while and see how the AA is in its current configuration
Speaking of cruisers, there is a new German cruiser that just got released into the game. It is called the Hildebrand, and it is based on the O-Class cruisers. However, it is a hybrid cruiser as it can use two squadrons. One is a 3-plane torpedo squadron, and the other is a HE dive bomber squadron with 6 planes.

The tiger 59 looks very interesting to play. I might actually buy it because people say it's just bad.
I haven't checked, but doesn't the Ipiranga have 15" main guns and 6" secondaries? It's tier 9 that you get the 234mm turrets.
Also, something I've noticed recently is that british short fuse AP is incredible at knocking out secondary turrets. Even in this video with the Tiger's pathetic DPM, the few shels he lands on the Ipiranga secondary turrets knocks them out in one hit. I think it might be too good against secondaries on the proper light cruisers like the minotaur. In 30s of shooting at Schlieffens or Preussens, I often knock out 6+ turrets in my Minotaur.
So from the time I started watching to the end the likes went from 845 to 1.1k. I’ll go back to the salt mines now gnome overload.
They should give Tiger the Seacat launchers it gained during it's conversion, I'm also surprised that anti ship missile aircraft are not in the game
What did most ship officers think about maneuvrability ?

Which says a bit of why the french large anti-torpedoboats destroyers were 'bad' - not maneuvrable enough to hold station on a battleship or battle-cruiser and being even worse than them !
that "Freezing" bug doesn't happen only in replays, it happens me every now and then during the game.

I've got Tiger '59. I'd say it's actually worse than the worst ship in game.
If you get Arms Race and live long enough to get full reload and damage buffs it actually turns to being reasonably good.
The woeful AA is a real gripe though.
The only good thing the Tiger 59 has going for it is that it's so small, with such a low HP pool that a distracted DD captain might mistake it for a DD and open up on it.
A kraken including running a carrier and an Iparangua within secondary reach.... Tiger 59 might need some nerfing there :)
Tiger 59 is an insanely good ship on operations... I absolutely crush in it every time. Then I take it out on a random battle with friends, and get immediately dumpstered and reminded that it's actually a bad ship. 😂
Nice work juking most of those torpedos and airstrikes, It is manuverable but not fast enough to run from trouble, so he stayed in the fight and made it work.
Carrier be like..I Need to focus the worst ship in the game to end the players suffering!!
You have to show an imense amount of respect for everybody who queues up in a Tiger 59 in that game. It takes some balls to do that.
WGing need to fire their balance dept. The fact they have not, suggests that it's working as intended. What that ship needs is torpedoes, a 1 to 1.5 base on the firing rate and a hydro. It would at least be competitive then.
It's not the only worse ship in the game. I have 300+ ships and have been playing this game for 9 years now and I could name several ships that can wear that label.

What they could do with this ship is give it a spotter plane (Helicopter) consumable that lasts the length of the game...
My dad served on the HMS Tiger - the 1960s refit version, as Radar operator.
That was a hell of a ride! Well done! Would be a great meme - bit similar to the TOG in WoT - if people jinxed it and started doing rather well in Hms.Tiger.
Reminds me of one time I did really well in the Eendracht and someone messaged me after the game congratulating me on doing so well in such a bad ship.
It might be awful but my god it's one of my favourite ships in ledgends.
Just the sheer amount of dakka it can put out is really fun. On the occasions I can hit stuff with it it can put some hurt on other cruisers
To watch Mighty Jingles talk about how bad this ship is, and then get an epic result such as this just gives me the giggles. Yes its a terrible ship, but even terrible ships can have a good outcome.

Yeah the tiger 59 in legends isn't any better despite it being tier 6 and you have to choose between radar or defensive AA fire. One of my friends got this ship played 1 game and said this ship is shit and sold it two days later they get a free container for a free tier 6 ship, and it gave them back tiger 59 I have the tiger 59 it was in one of the campaigns as a extra ship
WP ImEarly. I never had a Tiger 59 in my port. So I can't give it a rank position. However, my rankings for WoWS worst premium ships are: 1)Gorizia - Italian special premium Tier VII cruiser, 2)Krasny Krym - Soviet special premium Tier V cruiser, 3)Collingwood - British special premium Tier VII battleship, 4)Leone - Italian special premium Tier VI destroyer, 5)Viribus Unitis - European special premium Tier V battleship. I suspect that WG will give the Tiger '59 ship out in the next Christmas give away.
It's good in same tier modes. Brawl, etc...otherwise, yeah it's terrible.
The only reason I watch WG re-plays at this point is to point & laugh. WG are 💩🤡
