That’s so true about the need for pacing in the walkthrough, and I NEVER get to work that like I should.🤪🥴😂Thanks for the fun podcast!✌️😄🎃

Thanks for watching! I literally had kids running through my haunt by the end of the night, so pacing is not my strong point, lol. Hoping to fix that this year with the pirate haunt. Appreciate you coming leaving the comment!

Halloween Dan: "I'm not into the gory Halloween stuff, just witches, ghosts, etc."
Also Halloween Dan : "Parents will be hearing the sound of coyotes tearing their children apart in the woods"
    😂

Hahaha. Don't let that family man persona fool you, Halloween Dan has a dark side too. He even found the thought funny. He's a sick man, lol, that's why we're friends. Thanks for watching!

Bravo guys. It feels rather like a reimagine haunters Hangout podcast. Love it!
Scare dad, this year as your end haunt dividers may be considered beef netting instead of plastic. I've never used it my self but hant on the hill used it to create tunnels & she was in the U.P. of Michigan. She made several RUclips videos.
As for your revolving book case , Amazon sells the hinges for that .
I'm guessing you already thought converting your skeleton's into pirates of the Caribbean type skeleton pirates with plastic bags corpsing techniques ( hopefully you can cut off the bags if you need your skeleton 's restored for a fallowing year.
Something I learned this last season is you can take a old motion sensor for garage or yard lamp and modify it to be a haunt motion sensor. I bought one from habitat for humanity ReStore and fallowed the directions on a RUclips video (I think it was called motion sensor hack, but it's been a few months) and it does work. So you if you buy a power adapters, to convert battery operated to electric, you can motion control a section of haunt triggering at the same time. With the use of yard power splitters, you can limit the electrical cords the kids are at risk of tripping on..
Oh, I love that lit up pallet dock, would be super sweet with low laying fog with a blue green light illuminating the fog. Much like low fog on water.
I'm like Dan, not tech savvy , at least not yet. The cost scares me, especially if I mess it up .
If you shooting for a pirate ship, maybe consider using fan foam under layment to create a painted ship lap over a firring strip frame or recycled pallets. I painting on foam to create a suggested item.
Was the series you were watching about creating a haunt the 7 layers of a haunt by scary lady videos?
Oh music, intresting challenge for a pirate your pirate scenario. The obvious is some pirate songs, but for something different Google exuma.
One solution for either controlling / containing your large haunt area or making your smaller haunt area appear larger would be the use of a painted back drop.
Stiltbeast studios has a nice video on back drops , in the one I recall he was implying a exterior scene & it was white or light gray painting on black. Alan ( stiltbeast studios) is great with depth perception and highlights to imply his scene.
Thanks for the pod cast. I hope your channel's sore in subscribers.
It's really nice to see a new generation of father ( & mom's ) haunters create for their children and inspire the future haunters. It's good to share our tips tricks and learning process, as non professional haunters.
    Thanks again.

Thank you for watching! The beef netting is what I used for the spider web areas, never actually thought of using it to divide spaces though. I'll have to check out Haunt on the Hill. Corpsing skeletons is definitely on my list to try this year, haven't done it yet. I have been using PIR sensors to trigger things, but I do have a few motion sensor lights just waiting to be turned into Halloween props. I was thinking maybe using pallets and foam for the ship as opposed to going all wood, still figuring that part out. Fog was on our list for the green bridge last year, it was just too windy to be effective at all. Exuma could definitely work for a pirate-type theme, wouldn't have thought of them. I don't believe I have seen 7 layers of a haunt, I will look it up for sure. I love Alan from Stiltbeast Studios, he makes some cool stuff. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to give me some great suggestions! I appreciate it!

Do you use live actors in your home haunts yets? A couple of get story tellers or "guides" is the ultimate way to bring your story line alive. Of course you have to direct so it doesn't become too chatty.

I have not used scare actors yet, might be a possibility this year. I agree that this would be a great way to give story, guide the people through, and also keep kids from knocking things over. Depending on how my haunt develops this year, I might try to get 4 or 5 actors. Thanks for watching and leaving the great suggestion!

My solution for a walk through haunt, is not to have the " walk through" part, I'm in a small town & don't haunt inside, so it's a pop up walk by fenced off graveyard. If people want to stop & look, I'll have a Atmosfx digital decoration compilation or what I call kid friendly vaudeville act. ( Clips I purchased and assembled to appear to be entertainment acts.) Projected on a screen placed in my single car garage door. ( My favorite Atmosfx projection is witching hour song, if you haven't seen it check it out)

I am familiar with the witching hour song, it is great. AtmosFX has some really great projections, they were my skeleton band in the graveyard this year as well as the singing pumpkins in the beginning. Thanks for decorating your house and keeping the Halloween spirit alive for all the kids (both big and small) out there.
