I like your calm explanation style. One thing on the guidance kit: the front mounted seeker has the movable steering fins, back fins are fixed to stabilize and enhance glide envelope.
As Harrier newbie, I’d also expect to get a demo on how to change the laser code of the bombs as well, not just the tpod, for scenarios where you are not alone over the target area and need to use different laser codes. Otherwise a good video as is the rest of your series - need to finish the playlist soon.
Currently the Harrier only simulates a single laser code set in the DMT which is used for the DMT/LSS, TGP, LGB and laser Mavericks. Of course this is not realistic as in the real world the bombs would be set by the ground crew so something like the kneeboard setting for APKWS would be nice. Also in reality you could set the DMT and TGP to different codes if you like. Lastly the TGP in reality can have one code for it's laser designator and a separate code for it's laser spot search. I think this was a placeholder in the beginning of Harrier development which hasn't been replaced yet. For now just use the code set in the DMT.
Sensor selct just controls which display you intent to interact with. You then need to move your TDC which you should have mapped to an axis or buttons on your HOTAS.
Great tutorial as usual deephack. I can't believe that there is not a HOTAS button assignable to lase. I saw you pressing the OSB and went back to control setup, but couldn't find it. As good as the Harrier UI is, this seems like an omission IMHO.
Deephack, do you have any preference for which laser guided bombs you use? Are there any discernable differences between the Paveways and the new laser JADAM? Does one function slightly better over the other in certain circumstances?

Thanks for the clarification!

You don't want much really (for free) do you, you big fool???
Great video!
Can you please do this but for when a JTAC is designating the target please DH ?
That sounds like a fun one to do. Consider it done for this Saturday's tutorial (2nd July)
@@deephack Thank-you DH :)
HOW DO U SLEW THE POD I CANT FIND ANY VIDEO OR INFO. I PUT IT IN SENSOR SELECT AFT 2 AND THE POD DOESNT MOVE

good video

Yes that's correct at least as it is modelled right now. I don't know if there is something IRL.
@@deephack In the radar version of the harrier, there is a button. It doesn't exist in the night attack.
Thanks again!
Great video as usual. Please keep them up!
The T-Pod symbol is an octagon, not a hexagon :-)
Thanks for the correction.

Really no difference between LGB and L-JDAM except that the L-JDAM have the flexibility of being employable as laser or GPS guided.
Holy cow this is complicated
