In 19.2 innings in his postseason career for the Giants, Santiago Casilla only gave up 2 runs. He (along with Affedlt and Romo) are a huge reason why we won the 3 WS
telling you man, if he pitches in 2016 against the cubs, he doesnt give up those runs like romo, and we could have possibly won game 5, probably would have swept the dodgers.
@@FeelsGreatBaby Either that or Bochy doesn't keep switching the pitchers and just uses Law or Strickland in the 9th. I think they would've been fine since the Cubs were a power hitting team who strike out a lot, Romo is not a strikeout pitcher, Law and Strickland are. Casilla probably would've worked too because his velocity was high which misses bats.
Looking back now in 2024 at this series I had forgotten how close it was. Four 1 run games and without the 3 errors committed by Braves 2B Conrad in game 3 things could have easily turned out differently.
If the Braves had been fully healthy I still believe they would have won this series. No one played the Giants better in this postseason. Brooks Conrad would have never seen the field under normal circumstances.
Like people said, Pitching. The rotation anchored by Timmy, Cain, Sanchez, and Bum. (Zito wasn't terrible either although Joe Martinez and Todd Wellemeyer both struggled.) The pen had Javi, Casilla, Affeldt, Romo, and Wilson; plus I remember Mota and Ramirez being pretty good. It was all about pitching for us in this era. It was a formula that worked for us - that maybe we held onto for too long after - but during this time it was effective.
Omar Infante was on the 2010 Braves, 2012 Tigers, and 2014 Royals. LOL
p.herm10 wow didn’t notice that, that’s crazy
Can you imagine if he was on the rangers in 2010... im sure he already does but he would hate the giants more then any dodger fan.
And 2013 Tigers who lost to Boston in the ALCS
I just watched this and was about to mention the same thing
Yep. That poor guy. Good player. Welcome in any Clubhouse.

Legend has it Madbum began his legend
These are awesome. Thank you for putting these up. I can't believe they don't have more views.
The legend of Cody Ross begins...
Cody Ross is a mothafuckin boss
When Cody Ross hit the homerun to tie, it sounded like a shriek happened through the stadium.
Edit: The homerun is at 9:31
They thought it was a fluke, and everyone - all the "experts" and everyone else - thought we were gonna get handled by the phillies next. Lol.
Can you really blame them?
Their hitting was ~awful~
Young Madbum.
Before he grew his Herculaneum hair.
Before he completely unleashed his Angry Redneck Side
braves shortstop was the best part of this video

I forgot how good Casilla was
Giants Rewind: Every 2014 Home Run?
Who was our batting coach for dat 2010 season?

I remember now how annoying the announcer was saying san CHEZ everytime
This lineup is so bad lol how did we win in 2010?
Because our pitching and defense was amazing. All we need was 2 or 3 runs a game lol
Conor York yea true the pitching staff was incredible and so was the bullpen I’m just in awe how bad the lineup was

Because the Phillies completely choked and the Rangers were hot garbage.
Oh and yeah Pitching
That lineup won 92 games in the regular season. They weren’t that bad
