This is one that we've been meaning to play for a looong time, and wow, I had almost forgotten how beautiful the chords and melody are. So fun to learn this beautiful old tune. Hope you enjoy our rendition!

About Reina del Cid:
Reina del Cid is a singer songwriter and leader of the eponymous folk rock band based in Minnesota. Her song-a-week video series, Sunday Mornings with Reina del Cid, has amassed a devoted and diverse following made up of everyone from jamheads to college students to white-haired intelligentsia. In 2011 she began collaborating with Toni Lindgren, who is the lead guitarist on all three of Del Cid’s albums, as well as a frequent and much beloved guest on the Sunday Morning videos. The Sunday Morning videos also feature a rotating cast of bandmates, special guests, and occasional random bystanders. New album Morse Code is out now.
You two make me happy.... and not much else does. You're fantastic together.
I danced with my husband to this song at our wedding reception....he passed away, but oh the memories and the fun we had. Thank you for bringing him back to me...if only for a while.
An iconic song to tackle. Beautifully done.
Being of 62 years old and hearing this song all my life" you just brought a tear to my eye, thank you. You both are amazing!
Like you I want see 60 again, I really appreciate young folk with old soles, gb
I'm 64 and love the song it brought
Back good memories
Thanks so much you ladies are
Super artists
Mr. Mikey G. Same here. Same age. They just don’t make music like this anymore so it’s very cool to the a younger generation enjoying and carrying it forward. Cheers my friend
I was at a summer camp in '62 when they made a kid who forgot to say "please" before "pass the salt" and his penalty was to sing Moon River A Cappella, standing on his chair, to the entire dining hall. He did well. I've always loved the music from those days. I'm So happy I found you Reina del Cid, and so grateful for your music.
I concur Mikey ...
Now folks, that's how it's done! Thank you, ladies, for your pouring your heart and soul into this great old song!
I am 61 years old and have been playing guitar for 51 years. I have become such a huge fan of you guys because you play the songs from my generation with such precision and soul. I also love to see your free spirit as that is what playing music did and still does to my heart and spirit. I saw Andy Williams perform "Moon River" at the Hollywood Bowl back in the 1980's and I have to say that your rendition equally touches my soul...Great job!
Omg you are sooo good!!! Once again thank you Reina and Toni for making my Sunday beautiful. Last night I had to say good bye to my 16 year old yellow Lab “Jakey”. He crossed the bridge and is in puppy heaven now. I was so sad today, but your incredible Moon River made me smile. Thank you my huckleberry friends.
❤️❤️🐾🐾
Yes, dogs automatically go to heaven. It is known.
I stole this observation from Willie Nelson talking about Linda Ronstadt( my apologies Willie)- There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who love Reina and Toni and those who have never heard of them.
Jerry, you were close - here's the Willie quote: "There are only two types of people in the world; those who love Emmylou and those who have never met her" - Willie Nelson
@@russellsingleton3244 - I have always seen the quote about Linda. Have never seen or heard the quote about Emmylou.
@@jerrybrownell3633, it comes from the product description of Emmylou's Live in 1978 album. It could be a misquote. Here's a link to it: www.amazon.ca/Live-1978-Emmylou-Harris/dp/B00GO2OOF0
Jerry Brownell I agree with you
As an older person I am so glad someone is covering these oldies but goodies. Thank you ladies❤️
Very nice as per usual ladies. Happy Sunday Morning.👍👍
Beautiful song, beautiful rendition.......
Beautiful. Two drifters just around the bend. Discovering the world/life. I think, describes you and Toni.
Beautiful musicianship, chord voicing & vocals...excellent guitar accompaniment....thanks for sharing!!!!!!
BEST VERSION ON RUclips !!!! GREETINGS FROM GERMANY !!!!
This song just makes Me hold My Wife of 37 years and not let go I feel like I'm back in High School again and I'm 60 thank You both
These two always make me smile :) Thank you Ladies
Me at 66...it's one of my favorites of all times...thanks gals! Beautifully done..
I've heard this song a hundred times. It's the first time it brings me to tears.
Lovely as it gets ladies. Memories of Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffanies. A kinder and gentler time. Thank you.
beautiful song and playing . i liked that electrified acoustic that and a 5w fender champ and i 'd be cool.
Yah, Reina's back with a lovely song and Toni on guitar. It's good day.
There's more than 3 chords in that song! It's a good thing they called in the experts! (Beautiful rendition by Reina and Toni! Lovely and lovely!)
Well, it's already been said.... But, I'm 63, and you filled my heart and brought back some beautiful memories... Thank you.... and Yes, you Ladies are amazing.....
Beautiful rendition, huckleberry friend.
Simply brilliant, that’s all I can say. Beautiful cover of this great classic
You guys just sent me to awe land
Thank You for a trip down memory lane.
There's some inexplicable magic when you two play this song. You're awsome! Cheers from Ecuador and all the Latin American audience.
This is such a beautiful song and you two have executed it perfectly!!!! Awesome performance!!!!🌺👌🎶
My goodness...there were some 'wrist breaker' chords in this one. Whew...nicely done. How many guitars do you ladies have? (Answer: never enough) Enjoyed it!
Andy Williams & Johnny Mercer are smiling that you have brought this beautiful song to a new generation of music lovers who appreciate quality music. Johnny Mercer won the Grammy for song of the year in 1961. Audrey Hepburn sang it in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Thank you!
Although Moon River is regarded as Andy Williams signature song it was never released as a single. but the album
version got plenty of air play and is second only to the original by Henry Mancini in popularity. Soul singer Jerry
Butler had a hit with also.
Thanks a lot Reina for your clear pronunciation! I got the term 'huckleberry friend'. I hope you come to Germany again soon.
70 yrs old here, i remember when Andy Williams sang it his show...great job!!
My grandparents used to dance to that song all the time. Thank you for the sweet memories God Bless
I just love the warmth in your voice.
Once again a beautiful job!
thank you for selecting this song recorded in 1961 by audrey hepburn, long before either of you were born. it is such a poignant and soulful song, and you captured the beauty of it so exquisitely.
I love your voice on this song.
You should do more like this.
Great job. One of the best from y'all.
Such a fantastic duet. I'm addicted to your wonderful performances, especially 'Jambalaya'. I'm still watching it over an over again. Cheers! JJ from Korea
Great job ladies. One of my favorite songs.
You do this song so well. Just discovered your channel and music. Love it all. New fan.
This song and Audrey ...all perfection
two beautifull souls . thanks for being positive in this crazy world that we are living . great leading guitar by tony
Toni
Oo I never got to be first to viewer. Another great classic.
I like the mixture of nylon and steel strings too
Thank you for the lovely song my “huckleberry friends”. Thank you for so many little Sunday morning gifts so freely given. Not to blow too much sunshine up your skirts, but your talents for making people like me Happy means you are making the world a better place. I also like how you 2 (sometimes 4)4) swap instruments...
Verry Nice reina and tonny i am fan all the video's thanks 👍👍👍😄🎶🎙🎼🍷🍷🎧🎸
This made me cry and I don't know why. If I could guess, this was a Toni choice? Some of her riff choices and where she put them sounded a lot like Chet Atkins.
This performance made me feel very calm and happy.
So take some more Jazz traditional songs to play and it will be a special thing for us all! Take the real books! So fine music! 😘😎 You're both are very sweeet!!!!
So much respect for a guitarist playing in F without a capo!
What is interesting... It is actually in the key of E and the guitar is tuned down half a step... Why?
Toni! I have sang this to my baby since before he was born! He instantly fell asleep when I was playing this version! Well done!
Wonderful. One wants to sink directly into your guitar playing and get lost in it... :-)
I've never heard it with 2 guitars for this song, Moon River. Beautiful. You should go out in AMERICAS GOT TALENT show so you can be More visible. There are old ppl out there who don't go into RUclips. Old ppl need to hear you too. I like the way you sing. It's not forced, you sing as if you are talking to us. Nice.
Stunning! Way to bring new life back to an old song - and to an old man.
those who don't see audrey hepburn in front of their eyes and feel their pain in this version have probably never really loved. great soulful cover. tears in my eyes .... sorry
Stunning! I had gotten so bored of this song (after liking it a lot) and now you've both done the impossible... I'm playing this on loop again. The sound is so good.
Beautiful song played by beautiful women. What more could you want?
Greets from Poland :)
Beautiful!!! Your Play, GIRLS ...is MAGIC!!! Nice Melody... Thanks!!!
Are you playing each other’s guitars? So cute.
That was great... I look forward to each week's release. You two have improved so much since I first began listening to your videos (Jambalaya, and y'all were superb back then).
Wow. An all time classic reimagined so beautifully. I’ve never seen you both better. Can’t wait for Fortitude Valley.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! A gift to the world! Thank you, girls!
Beautiful guitar work, ladies!!! And, Ms. Reina, wonderful vocals as always!
Oh wow! You two are some kind if special! Even though I’ve heard this song hundreds of times you make it sound fresh, special! Love your arrangement and interpretation!
Beautiful! May I add you look radiant too Reina!
I am watching from Central Sweden. Lovely song.
Oh wow! Thank you so much.
I hope you two never stop doing what you love, and loving what you do.
I just wished, i could give something back one day.
Just so you know - since i first stumbled upon this isle of hope in the midst of the endless planes of the internet, i wrote just over 100.000 words. Maybe this one won't end up a trunk novel. I'll let you know.
Beautifully done! Love this song. Perfectly Sunday Morning!
The wait was really worth it! Audrey was my first love on TV. But how am I supposed to fall asleep now? It's 1am in Germany ... :)
Beautiful song. Beautiful rendition, ladies. Well done.
I have no words to express how beautiful this is.
Your voice is amazing. It’s truly a gift. And Toni’s solo was terrific. ‘Keep em comin please.

Well, that was just lovely.
Blown away. It's Sunday evening over here in the UK but it sounds just as sweet whatever the time of day :-)
These ladies have a rare combination of talent and class. There is no limit to how far they can go.
Henry, Audrey, and Johnny would be soooo proud of the way you guys performed this. Thanks
As we say in Australia, Noice!
.... and a show announced in November for Brisbane ... but no mention of Toni coming ... sad face.
Хлядачи впид мисцим та слухають уважно
Such warmth on a cold Minnesota day. Thank you
Stinking hot monday morning in northern Australia, enjoy your day Jack 🍻🇦🇺

Audrey H is smiling from Heaven to this! :)
Now that I’ve found you , im suddenly afraid you’ll stop. Thanks for these! 👏🏼
Great duet ladies!....I try to watch y'all's videos every chance I get but I'm still way behind so comment is 6 months behind lol
Great pick. Nobody seems to remember this song but it's a great. Nice work on both guitars and vocals.
Awesome... It's take my breath away.... Beautiful song and interpretation...
Moon River is one of those classics that is magically enchanting, but can be turned into a mediocre blah tune with lackadaisical chord progressions and leaving out important notes. You guys did this song justice. Beautifully sung, beautifully played on your guitars. Beautiful. Enchantingly beautiful.
What a wonderful version! Great performance, girls!!!
From the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's based on the book by Truman Capote. Song composed by the great Henry Mancini. Reina and Toni with a masterful performance. Thank you ladies.
wonderful harmonisation together 😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍
The only valid use of "huckleberry" in a song.
great job on a difficult chord progression!Nice vocals too!
Such a pretty song. Awesome cover!
You two drifters are heart breakers and mine is breaking.
One of my favorite songs, Thanks !
Such a beautiful song and nicely done guys. All the best from a warm 86f NZ
Classics playing the classics. I had to listen twice. Once to enjoy your silky smooth voice. Once to enjoy Toni's elegant phrasing. Two treats in one. :). :)
Thank you. Really heartfelt singing and playing.
