And one of my trips to Fontana Dam in the village gentleman in the gift shop had some pictures of a draw down at Fontana damn I couldn’t believe what I was looking at do they still draw the dam down I heard they don’t need to because of the newer technology for inspections

What prevents upstream water from going through the dam from the slot cut?

They installed a cofferdam around the slot area and pumped the water out, so the slot area in the reservoir is dry.
