    Great review , thank you !
    I'm hesitating to send my V3 back too. 25km/h max is too low for my taste .
    With my non-E bike, a standard City/Mountain bike, I can reach 32-36 km/h in the highest gear without problems. Not with the Cowboy - the pedal frequency is getting too high.
    Most of my commuting trip is flat asphalt so I get over 25 km.h most of the time...
    I really love the boost you get on lower speeds with the Cowboy , even mild hills feel like they aren't there , but it is lacking higher speed for me.
    Pro:
    - The look, the boost on low speed, weight, removable battery.
    Cons :
    -Underperforming on higher speeds
    -The whole 'use your phone to unlock/light/lock your bike' is not for me. I don't want to take out my phone when I stop at the bakery to turn off the lights/'lock' bike, and reuse the app when I have finished.
    A bluetooth dongle or button would have been a big plus for me.
    I still have the BIG carton box in my garage, I think I will have to use it soon. 30 days test phase is over in about 2 weeks.

      Yeah that’s exactly the same problem that I had. Going over 25 km/h is not easy and if you don’t go up a lot of hills then it doesn’t really make sense cause you can go faster with a non E bike. If I was you I’d send it back and look into some other bikes on the market. I’m gonna review what I replaced it with this Sunday. I feel like I found the perfect
      e-bike motor. Price is definitely more than the V3 but in my opinion definitely worth it. Thanks for the awesome Comment 👏

      @@kian_zandi How was the return process? Do you have to put it back into the original carton box?
      Does the delivery truck take it from your home , or do you have to drive it somewhere else?
      (Ich speche Deutsch, aber da Dein Video in English ist, let's stay in english :) )

    • @kian_zandi
      @kian_zandi  4 года назад +1

      okay alles klar 😂
      I had to pack everything back into the original box (watched my video backwards to help me with the process haha) you just gotta message cowboy customer service through your app and they will arrange the same company to come pick it up. Only thing is that you need to be home from 9:00 to 18:00 to wait for them to pick it up. They didn’t come on the day that I was told so I had to wait at home all day today as well but then then ended up coming after I contacted Cowboy and they e-nailed the shipping company.

      The speed limit is a legal/insurance issue. The v1 and v2 have an off-road mode where you can go faster but technically you were not allowed to use that mode on public roads in the EU/UK. Yet many people turned that mode on and never turned it off. This was giving some potential legal and insurance issues and that is why they have removed that from the v3 and you can permanently disable it if you have a v2 (but it is not a requirement).

    • @Larsonaut
      @Larsonaut 3 года назад

      There are two apps that allow you to turn off the speed limit and you can ride it up to 38km/h..

      I don’t know how low it can go but I’m 175cm tall. The seat was almost at its lowest point so I would say maybe 165cm would still work but that would be the smallest in my opinion.

    Hi Kian, hat die Rücksendung Reibungslos funktioniert? Ich möchte meins auch zurückschicken und habe etwas Panik davor. Das sie irgendwas beanstanden etc. und vor allen Dingen wie funktioniert es? Muss man selber ein Logistik Unternehmen beauftragen?

    • @kian_zandi
      @kian_zandi  4 года назад

      Hallo Dominic, ja alles hat gut geklappt aber die Rückerstattung hat 3-4 Wochen ungefähr gedauert. Du musst nur alles im Originalkarton verpacken. Cowboy organisiert dann eine Abholung wofür du den ganzen Tag zuhause sein musst. Danach musst du nur warten bis das Geld rückerstattet wird. 👌

      Kian Zandi super danke 👍🏼, ich werde wohl wieder auf ein manuelles Gravel bike umsteigen. Für den Betrag kriegt man auch was ordentliches. Ich hoffe bloß das Cowboy Gebrauchsspuren nicht geldlich anmerkt.

      Darf ich fragen, warum Du es abgibst? Ich überlege mir ein Cowboy zu holen... das bike muss halt schon einen herausnehmbaren Akku besitzen....allerdings: bei den Preisen überlege ich, ob ich mir nicht doch einfach ein "normales" aber sehr gutes Fahrrad dafür holen sollte.... Es soll vor allem zur Fahrt ins Büro genutzt werden....

    • @kian_zandi
      @kian_zandi  4 года назад

      I had the Abus Bordo 6450. I got myself a different one though. Was a Little annoying that the lock kept rattling when I was going over bumps. Now I have a U lock. The Abus 770A Smart lock. Definitely more expensive but since my bike now doesn’t have tracking or any kind of alarm I feel like I need something better just to be safe

    • @kian_zandi
      @kian_zandi  4 года назад

      Das ist eine gute Frage... du solltest jemanden von Cowboy in deiner App schreiben und nachfragen. Ich weiß dass wenn das Fahrrad ein Problem hat und man es dahin schicken muss, schicken sie dir zuerst eine Fahrradtasche wo du es rein packen kannst. Vielleicht können die sowas auch machen wenn du es zurück schicken willst und den Karton nicht mehr hast. Einen Versuch wäre es Wert 😅

      Yeah I bet that boost button is a ton of fun. Main reason I couldn’t go with the Vanmoof was that I wasn’t a fan of the shifting and I needed a removable battery. Definitely an awesome bike for the price though!

      @@kian_zandi I thought it would've come near the price range, but that bike is well above the price of a cowboy? It's a good review, but this comparison doesn't seem to validate the 'why I'm sending it back' in a more general way, a way you could expect to be useful for a review...
      I just think you can't announce things to be a dealbreaker with the €2300 bike and then say you're going with a €6000 bike.

    • @kian_zandi
      @kian_zandi  4 года назад

      Yes it definitely is more expensive than the Cowboy. I luckily got a really good deal on one as a test bike. Basically as I said in the video the main reason I sent it back was just cause it was not the right bike for me. I wanted to try something different but I’m just more of a road bike kind of guy. No commuter bikes for me 🙃

    A city bike should be soft. Roads are bumpy sometimes. Eg cobble stones. You need shock absorbers! Disk brakes: not necessary. Need also to be able to adjust handlebars easily. Saddle like that: must be so uncomfortable. You need a cycle pan to cycle on a saddle like that,... To test your bike, just go and ride 10 kms on cobble stones and then we talk again,...

  • @Kushken
    @Kushken 3 года назад +1

    This bike is not worth 3000$ at all, maximum I would pay for this is 1000 bucks. Only good thing about this bike is the design and you can tell that the only people that buy this bike are rich kids that don't know anything about ebikes. Don't really understand what you are paying for when buying this bike, a horrrrrible motor that is probably only 250w that you can't modify, a tiny battery that you also can't modify, and after all of that it only has a single speed!? Not to mention the other minor cons of this bike. You can get a bike with the same performance for about 300 bucks.

    • @CallOn84
      @CallOn84 2 года назад +2

      I would like to address some of the things you're complaining about. The 250w can't be modified because of regulatory reasons, at least in the UK/EU. Regulation has made it so that it has to have a maximum motor of 250W and a speed limit of 25 km/h. If it was more than that, it would be classified as a moped, which requires you to register it to the DVLA and need a motorcycle/moped licence to ride it. In the US, the speed limit is 32 km/h with the maximum motor wattage of 750W.
      You're mainly paying for the tech and the convenience of riding a bike with electrical assistance. After all, it's a commuters bike, not a bike you would exercise on.
