Can you explain how you got the A7 where the F7 would normally go in that key? Are you thinking as a sub for F aug (at least that’s how I see it in my head)… just wondering the theory behind it. Very cool sounding! Thank you!
@@jlr022159 Hello there ! Appreciate the message 🙌🏻 This A7 is a common substitution in a Rhythm Changes. You can see it as a substitution of the C#dim or even coming from the cycle of 5th substitution starting the A section on F#7. Hope it clarifies it !
Great line! I’ve been working on trying to come up with lines like this too. The first phrase I recognize from the 1950s, Sonny Rollins recording, and I use it too. Do you like to mix and match the pieces when you’re performing, or do you like to play the whole line as it is?
