    Can you explain how you got the A7 where the F7 would normally go in that key? Are you thinking as a sub for F aug (at least that’s how I see it in my head)… just wondering the theory behind it. Very cool sounding! Thank you!

      @@jlr022159 Hello there ! Appreciate the message 🙌🏻 This A7 is a common substitution in a Rhythm Changes. You can see it as a substitution of the C#dim or even coming from the cycle of 5th substitution starting the A section on F#7. Hope it clarifies it !

    Great line! I’ve been working on trying to come up with lines like this too. The first phrase I recognize from the 1950s, Sonny Rollins recording, and I use it too. Do you like to mix and match the pieces when you’re performing, or do you like to play the whole line as it is?

      Thank you ! Honestly, when improvising, I'm trying not to think about whole lines. I'm trying not to think at all in fact. But practicing lines is essential if you want them to pop up naturally from time to time in your improv
