This is an awesome video. Thank you so much. Plan to install a star f35a cam that requires upgraded springs. This video will save me from taking off the heads. 22 road glide st.
Can you make more of them tools?
Good Stuff Man. The tick noise at the end is likely the Lifters bled down too much.. Once it runs a while they will get pressurized with oil again and quiet down. Happens to my Kawasaki Vaquero when I don't start her for a few weeks, after a few miles the tick stops. I am sure when I do the cam on my 21 RG the same will happen.
I let it run for 40 minutes on a trailer and took it to the guy who is going to Dyno the bike. He wasn't sure either. So I took it apart tonight and I think the right front spring was sitting wrong. Did all the Springs again and I think it might be fixed I'll find out tomorrow when I run it.
@@lifepranks Best of luck. Your videos have given me the Cojones to get up in the cam chest and do the swap myself. I have always worked on my bikes but never gotten into the internals before. 😁
@@lifepranks how did it end up?
i just finish watching did u put bigger injectors in, if so what size
Nice job, the ticking may be due to the the push rods not adjusted to the correct length or possible a bad lifter.
Wow, so you go from a bolt in 475 cam to a high lift 540 with springs and dont set the spring height, no spacers ?
I think i know what that ticking is. Good luck
to funny i thought that was my cat at first, i was like what the fuck is wrong with my cat hahaha
The worst part of a cam install are the pushrods. If I had the rocker arms out, I would have used solid pushrods and been done with it. That’s if the 540 cam has the stock base circle.
Hello can you give me the grocery list to fabricate the tool, iam like you in that 280$ is way too much for a tool I'll use once . Thanks for making the video
Lowes...2 thick washers with 3/4 inside diameter. 1 1/2inch to 2inch out side.
2. 5/8 x 7/8 x 1 1/2 steel spacers.
Part# 880422. 2. 3/8 drive sockets. I used 1/2inch I think. 13mm would work. You need to make a left and right, I used thin cardboard to get correct angel for washers. Tack weld it together tweaking it to fit right and weld it, parts of the washer I cut off I used to fill capes from washer to steel spacer.
If you can make them perfect You can mass produce them and sell them half the price of a Jim tool... lol
@@lifepranks I couldn't sell diapers in a diarrhea ward , but thanks for letting me know... appreciate ya
how many fuckin wires you got running threw that fire hazard lol
I want that tool
