Thank you so much for sharing this! ❤️
I was at this show, standing on the field at the Oakland Coliseum very near to where the sound mixing and light show production booth was located, as I was avoiding getting packed into the throng closer to the stage. While the view from this location was a very wide perspective of the stage, and the band were pretty far away in the distance, the sound there was incredible, being located pretty much in the center relative to the massive quadrophonic amplifier stacks that were placed around the upper rim of the stadium and facing down into the audience.
I must confess that I wasn’t a very knowledgeable fan of Pink Floyd at the time. I went to this show when I was in my early 30s more out of nostalgia for having listened to DSOTM and The Wall a lot in my high school years, and because I’d seen a video on TV from the tour for A Momentary Lapse of Reason and wanted to see that kind of light show in person. And after living in San Francisco for seven years at this point, I’d become used to the intimacy of seeing a lot of great Britpop, grunge and shoegaze bands in the smaller club venues, and wasn’t keen to see a large stadium show.
But this Pink Floyd show was unlike any typically mediocre stadium production where the sound is just okay and your best view of the show is to be had on the projection screens. No! They set up that amazing quad sound system (I’ve heard none better for a show since!) and the light show and the screen films were fantastic, even a couple hundred feet away from the stage. I recall that they couldn’t get the eyes to light up on the boar coming out of the tower to the left of the stage, but that didn’t diminish this otherwise brilliant performance.
Back to the present: I’d read of Nick Mason touring with his Saucerful of Secrets band last year, and made it a point see the one-off theatrical screening on March 10 of the filmed concert at the Roundhouse, because I wasn’t familiar with pre-Dark Side Floyd, except for “See Emily Play” and “Astronomy Domine,” and wanted to learn more about this era. Exactly one week later in California, we found ourselves in quarantine. I’ve since been exploring PF extensively, and I’ve found their music to be the best thing to keep my head sane throughout this challenging pandemic.
After getting deep into the Syd and pre-Dark Side eras over the past several weeks, I’ve now come back to the Dave Gilmour-Rick Wright-Nick Mason version of Pink Floyd. I took a look at Pulse, and saw there that the concert started with Shine On and included the whole of DSOTM, which is not how I recalled the show I saw back in 1994. I thought the show had started with “Astronomy Domine” and included some songs from Dark Side, but not all of the album. Thanks to this video, my recollections are verified.
Salute to whomever painstakingly recorded, edited and mastered the sound for this video! This takes me right back to that beautiful Spring night standing in the Coliseum experiencing the wonder that was Pink Floyd.

Regarding the 1994 Division Bell tour, there were two setlists, with the DSOTM setlist appearing towards the second half of the tour. I saw them on July 1st, '94, in Winnipeg, and they played close to the same setlist as the one in this video.

Closing night at the Oakland Stadium. Nice April night Bay Area weather.
Met some cool gals from Sonoma County helped them find tickets and tailgated with them. Lorena, Heidi, and Suzan. They played "One Slip" in the encore of the show. It rained cats and dogs the next day. Many good memories. Cant believe it has been almost 25 years. Feels like yesterday.

Gilmour & Wright were the musical soul and heartbeat of the group, even Roger acknowledged that. Waters was the main lyricist and yes was a driving force behind the concepts. However the group continued to create some great music after the split and that's why we still listen, isn't it?

I agree with so much of what you said. But its really hard not to imagine what it couldve been had they been able to work it out. But then again, as a purist, i believe that the same force that tore them apart was also responsible for the amazing, albeit breif, spark of genius that is those 4 men. Too bad we'll never get to see them all again.

I was at this concert. I was blown away by the quality of the sound system and of-course the music. First they played canned Pink Floyd music and then the live part began. Except for the light show, you could not tell the difference between the pre-concert music and the live music. Their live music was so true to their studio recordings. We were at the top of the stadium, far away from the stage. Yet, everything was perfect!

I was fortunate to be at the 1 of the 'Iconic Earls Court Pulse 94 concerts' and the night l was there Floyd played "On The Turning Away" and unlke most videos from the Pulse Tour the song was only played for around 6/7mins but the night l was there Gilmour played the end solo for around 5/6mins and as l looked around tears were streaming down everyones eyes, including myself as the we all know Dave's solo's are the only guitarist in the World to eradeate pure emotion, guitar speaking in strings, expreses absolute pain'n'sorrow speacially for such a lyrically powerfull song of pleading The World to stop turning its back on the pure suffering and heartbreak we as humans are doing to our fellow man..!! INEXCUSABLE..!! So the song lasted for a good 10/11mins long...I was a group of friends who we travelled down from Liverpool to be there..! "'That solo and the "Comfortably Numb solo will go down as the Greatest Ever Live Guitar Solo's of our Generation and the next Genertions to come..!! You either Get Pink Floyd or basically mif bot you DON'T MATTER..!!🫡

I think fans wonder what might have been had they stayed together but I think by that time there creative relationship had reached a critical mass so it was never going to continue to be the creative giant that was Pink Floyd. The point is to cherish those remarkable albums that they made whilst they were together
