Honestly that's how they should've gone. Hell, made a trilogy out of Apocalypse. End Part l with the opening scene in the actual movie. End Part ll at the Cerebro scene where Apocalypse takes over Charles's mind. And have Part lll kill Apocalypse but it leads into the next 2 part film: Phoenix and Dark Phoenix.

@@odiw2509 Did you even read the comment? For the people that (at the time) knew Apokalypse this was exciting, and the scene itself works even for those who don't know who the character is. Look at the scene, the music, the atmosphere, it's a very good post credits scene. Very similar to that scene of Steppenwolf at the end of BvS.

Apocalypse is a young boy in this scene, he is technically the first mutant and this scene is supposedly wayyyyyyyyy before the X-Men we know (wolverine, ProfessorX, Magneto) existed, that's why he is young, he is probably going to get is "buff/armored" appearance later on in the movie probably when they battle

It could have been an extraordinary movie/story. I think what would have been better would have been to go back to the time of En Sabah Nur for most of the movie so you could have a unique perspective about the ancient relationship between mutants and humans. The "modern" storyline includes some speciesism, where normies fear mutants in that unconscious basic survival way as in "You are more powerful than me, please don't eat me". There needs to be a time traveling mutant or two so we can easily enjoy parallel timelines and past time lines. Ant-man has the basics for that but they've not done it. I think the challenge with time travel in a story is that its very easy to break a story with it.

He has always been my favorite Marvel villain since I was kid. I've been waiting for this for a LONG time. Also, if you look at him closely when they show his profile with the Four Horsemen in the background, he looks like a preteen boy. Apocalypse was fucking nerfed, like Xavier in all x men movies. Apocalypse can turn buildings to dust but he didn't use it against the X-Men. He could have just decapitated everyone like in the alley. There was no urgency to him transferring his mind. He could easily kill all the x men (even before Jean using the nonsense phoenix) and then take Charles.
Poor writing, that's all. And obviously he's not weak ..... Phoenix killed him with the help of Magneto, Storm and Scott.

If I'm honest I think I prefer this look for Apocalypse, I think it would've worked better for the script of the new film. I mean the guy in this clip looks like a Jesus-type character and that seemed to be what the new film was going for with Apocalypse.
I know this isn't true to his appearance in the comics but sometimes I think it should be more about what works in context of the film rather than staying as true as possible.
i agree i was looking forward to seeing a skinny apocalypse. no doubt isacs did a great job but why put the skinny guy in the end credit scene then make him look so totaly diffrent in the actual movie. if they knew they were going to go with the look from the comic why even bother showing this guys face in credits
