    You're further along with your winter work than me. I haven't even touched the bikes at all. I'm thinking I may do a series on my CRF Rally BDR Slayer build............ I've already spent waaaaaaayyyyy too much money on that thing. Oh well, that's part of the fun. I'm happy to see that your foot has healed up well. Cheers!

      Building these bikes into you're own signature model is definitely a fun part of the hobby. But there's still lots of time before the season kicks off. Thankfully, lol.

      I did the setup on springs. Make sure you replace the oil with 20 weight. Second. Make sure you have the right spring compressor for the top gun spring. I improvised with a wrench. Scary when a 2 inch wrench flys by your face brushing your beard. Good luck. Glad you’re back walking and jumping.

      I was wondering about what fork oil to use. I'll try that out for sure. And I got a set of spring compressors for the job too . Spring energy is scary energy, lol. Thanks for the heads up!

    Those Progressive front springs are an excellent upgrade.

      That's what I've heard again and again, so I'm pretty pumped to see how the feel this spring. I think it will be a game changer on the ATV trails.

    Great video thank you very well done. Nice updates. Once metal has been weekend its not the same you can reinforce it by filling it with jb weld you can fill the digs with same and sand it back smooth. Be careful with the rear spring .there's special tool for doing them I would take it a shop and have it changed.thanks again cheers to ya.

      Yes, I've got some spring compressors on my end to help keep it safe for handling. But you can be sure if the job gets sketchy I'll run it down to Max and boys at the dealer.
      The crash bars sure have taken a beating eh. I like the JB weld idea. Might give that a try. Cheers brother.

    Another great series, thanks for putting the work in. This one is on my to do list. I just picked up a new Honda TransAlp that I am gearing up over the winter, so I am looking forward to hitting some dirt this spring. I may venture over on the Island to check it out also.

      A transalp would be perfect for the Gaspe. I really like the look of those bikes overall. They seem super capable without too much weight to hold you back for some more trickier ride business. Congrats on the new bike!

    Yessir! Congrats on the new badge, and on 2k subs! Glad to see you on the mend, and back in the garage tinkering. Looks like a few good projects and upgrades on Foxy, I’ve heard all good things about the progressive springs. Silver crash bars would be cool, I did a truck bed liner spray on the ones I had, and it turned out real nice. Cheers buds, keep well!

      Truck bed liner!!! Excellent idea. I'm doing that for sure now. Thanks, man. It's good to be back moving around. Physio has been great. Most of the pain is gone now. I was able to dig that big fort in the back yard without much foot trouble, too.

      @@IslandADV Lol, I saw that, man that looked like a job and a half, but wow, big win, so cool having a snow fort campfire! 🔥

    I did the progressives on mine, and they made a big difference. Last year, I changed the rear with the progressives. Was going to do the Cogent, but I opted for the cheaper price point. The tire definitely holds better contact over washboards. I'm still waiting to test the bike out fully loaded.

      Washboard performance is good to hear. In the last few years, I've noticed a lot of tricky dirt road hill climbs from the back tire bouncing through the washboard terrain. Looking forward to feeling how this machine changes with the new suspension.

    I still haven’t washed my Dr650 since my last fall ride, I do have a few things to do on it for next season tho! Replacing the starter cap with a warp9 and installing Dirtracks engine guard. I’m hoping to be able to catch you guys for a ride!

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  8 месяцев назад +1

      Those are good mods for sure. The Dirtracks are great. I believe Brandon has them. He has the luggage racks on the back for sure.

    a live stream sounds fun. good to see you doing well. what is the "up arrow u" sign on the wall? don't know how deep into rear suspension your getting but since wheel bearing went bad, you may want to check swing arm bearing while your at it.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  8 месяцев назад

      Ohh yeah that's a sign I made out of an old pallet amd some beer bottle caps. That is the logo from upstreet brewing on PEI.
      I've been trying yo figure out the best way to do a stream for awhile now. Hopefully I can pull it off.
