- Examiner Comments on Candidate
Band 8
This candidate speaks very fluently and is able to give long, complex and very detailed responses without any loss of coherence, repetition or language searches. She uses a wide range of discourse markers naturally and precisely. Her range of vocabulary allows a high degree of precision and flexibility with plenty of examples of stylistically appropriate language. Only occasional inaccuracies or slight inappropriacies (Competition is quite big) restrict her rating. She uses a wide range of complex structures with the majority of sentences being error-free. However, there are examples of inappropriate choice of tense and other occasional, non-systematic errors. Candidate J is easy to understand throughout the test, in spite of her accent. Although there are occasional mispronunciations of individual phonemes, these have minimal effect on communication. She is able to use a wide range of features, such as intonation and contrastive stress, to convey meaning.
This candidate's high overall fluency and wide range of features with only occasional examples of inappropriate usage make her a strong example of a Band 8 candidate.
waw . she is speaking very well ...I think we need more speaking test band 8 ... thank you 4 the video
She is a very natural speaker, it is important to give the impression that you're relaxed by smiling or laughing at times when it's appropriate and also make the examiner feel at home that way :p Take control of the situation and don't let it control you.
can we talk in Skype ?
I feel this lady should get band 8.5 or even 9
I loved the frankness and thoughts, and of course her cool self (if that is the right word). Didn't feel like an interview more like a tete-a-tete. Kudos.
1:39 increasingly getting less and less (unusual collocation) 1:48 Isn't that what it was before (grammar) 1:55 survive is unclear but acceptable (accent generally is good but has some effect on clarity) 2:27 It's depending on what your hobby is (It depends on what your..) 3:26 Casual (pronunciation) 3:38 It could be (It might be/ It might do) 4:08 would neglect family.
Notice the examiner asking more probing questions and using idiomatic expression. This is to push and challenge the candidate more.
Thanks for bringing clarity!
Thank you
thank you for uploaded this video Tatiana. I am currently tutoring a young gentleman and videos like this definitely help.
Yes! Great, loved the video ! Music is the best invention of our species isn't it? I'm so thankful to be a musician!
Hello, I had a band 8 at speaking and frankly said - I don´t really know how did I manage to get such a score. What I can really recommend is this: be always confident guys! Because I think, this won me the race.
reaaly she deserves more than that........ her speaking and presentation is so good.......
She is so smart and can react very quickly!
Oh my God, she speaks very influent. So good!
She is so intellegent
i
Well, She's German

araz aliyev Competely agree. LOOK: postimg.org/image/aq89esaq5/
Both Of them are funny maybe because Of their accent , l liked this video.
Thanks for your reminding all the time when i need to understand the clues to obtain a higher for the speaking test. Of course, to achieve my goal isn’t very easily to practise but to find a right solutions to ensure that i have to reduce some unnecessary conversations to the inteviewer. Unfortunately, my limited range of my brain status always think about my current English where i used to be learnt from my country. Frankly speaking. I am really afraid it is impossible to achieve a higher grade when examiner find out my personal problems of speaking English more ashamely.
Ben, it wouldn't be too sophiscated to answer things, just imagine that you are going to meet someone and chatting with someone else instead of thinking what preparation you need robottically. You will know the clues and methods to answer things correctly.
what does anchor point mean? does anybody know? I'v never heard something related. is it something with balance?
hello, i passed speaking test today ....was quite good i hope. questions was easy i think......1st part started by describe my home and favorite room, then talk abt teachers and favourite one, then if i still in touch with my teachers, after that , my favourite colour and why, in 2nd part , that card talk about something i did with a group of friends: what was that, and where and why i enjoyed it, 3rd part was about free time .. and childrens and then work in groups, and leaders if they are important. then the end .. sorry about mistakes, i just wanted to share. FRIENDLY
How about to Skype with me?
Акбота Арыстанбек yea why not its lighthouse17

Thank you so much for Sharing. I'm planning to take IELTS (General) on 18-Oct-2014 and targeting to achieve at least Band 7.0 for individual, Any Good Tips to follow ?
good!!! well done
thanks for sharing this video !
thanks for the video
IELTS Speaking band descriptors say that to get 9 a candidate must:
• use a full range of pronunciation features with
precision and subtlety
• sustain flexible use of features throughout
• be effortless to understand
in short, a candidate has to sound as a native-speaker
As for Band 8, a candidate snould be easy to understand throughout; L1 accent is allowed but it has minimal effect on intelligibility. All this is true for the lady.
She's very fluent
just 8?
i think she is sooo good.
Great content
She was brilliant! No matter how hard I work on my improving I will never be able to speak that fast, using complex and intelligent expressions in such overpressuring (and I don't even know if this word exists lol) situation. There's no way I'm able to get a band score 8 if that's the fluency required to reach it. My accent is much better than hers. But she takes me down in all the other abilities.
Besides, I'm afraid that my anxiety will screw up my chances! What happens if the subject picked by the examiner is not familiar to me? I've watched many samples where the examiner asks things like politician or sports for example and I simply know nothing about it! I hate sports and politician would be tough for me to talk about even if I was being argued in my own language. Under this situation, what will I be supposed to do??? Anyone to answer it?
Great !
İ want to hear his last sentence "and that's the end of the speaking test".By the way, she talked very fluently.Great job
Self-corrections can be made but not many.
If only i could speak like this ...
1:07 give the examiner a bongo 😂😂
she did well although sometimes she was unclear but overall she did tremendous perform
So good
Excellent
I want to know if someone of you can help me, I'm looking for someone's opinion about my spoken English, I'm going to take the IELTS in the next few days and I would want to know what do you think about it and if I have the enough level to score an 8 or above it!
I want to get fluency as like her.
I would like to speak to you for practice Victoria ohotski
good well done
How come she got 8 !!!
In the begining of the video the examiner asked her about the hobbies ... ( why do you think that hobbies are popular in Germany ) she replyed and answered about what hobbies do for the person and why a person need a hobbies ( she talked about stress relive and rest of hard work ...somthing like thay )
IELTS speaking is designed for imagining of chatting with some people who you may meet. It's definitely not following up of what textbook you have learnt in school. The reason of why she obtained band 8 as she have more naturally communication skills. Do you know what communication skills is? You clearly don't know what IELTS actually designed for instead of judging someone by your own ideas. Part 1, 2 and 3 are topics, indeed, yup. But IELTS examination is definitely for students, workers and technician immigrants moving to other countries and may have used wide range of English speaking abilities in English speaking countries. IELTS speaking this task, it actually can use your own natural communication while answering questions. Speaking as much as you can and describe things and life as much as you can. It's definitely unlike everything you have learnt in school and always following their traditional teaching manner in your country.
amazing
hey mahmoud refaat i also want to practise more for the IELS .
without use of vocabulary how many bands i get with correct grammar and fluency,,,,,,,,,,,
her english is vry gud
well done ! adorable
8 is right score for her
thanks that is brelent
I
n my opinion her English is so good .
Her accents are little difficult to understand for me. but she is very good at speaking. This is proper score I think.
She just speaks fluently....I mean there are many persons used many hard structure in speaking than she did. But they just get band 7.....She did not use complex sentences or academic words but she speaks fluently, that's all !!
I'm from Moscow and I got Band 9 on my first IELTS attempt. I can record a video if you're interested.
I found Writing to be the only unfair part of the test. The requirements are simply too narrow and don't fit the definition of what passes for good writing in the academia. I got 7.5 for it, which brought my overall mark down to 8.5. I imagine it's because I was unaware of some ridiculous standards that I could only know if I attended a preparatory course. I feel slighted.
please write on screen what she says!♥
Thats what i was talking about mann....
Let's parctice IELTS....
It's obvious that we see things different. I, for instance, when I intend to learn a foreign language, I want to speak it like native speakers. That's why I wrote my comment like that. But, in the end, it's just my opinion.
Holy shit! I can't speak as fast as she does even in my native language! Ahahahaha
In order for your essay to get Band 9 in IELTS, it needs a 9 in every single criterion.
Band 9 in Task Achievement means that you've fully addressed all parts of the task and your position expressed in your answer is completely developed and includes relevant ideas which you wrote at length about.
Band 9 in Coherence and Cohesion means you have structured your essay correctly in terms of using paragraphs and you've achieved cohesion effortlessly, without drawing attention to it.
To get Band 9 for Lexical Resource you need a variety of higher-level vocabulary, but the way you use it has to be natural; your errors, if any, must be rare and hardly noticeable.
Band 9 for Grammatical Range and Accuracy comes from using a wide range of sentence structures correctly, accurately, and flexibly.
You can visit: If you like the content.
"the majority of sentences being error-free''. does this mean, like, if 50-100% (roughly speaking) of my sentences is grammatically correct, then I get 8.0 band for grammar range and accuracy?
I would give both of them 5 bands if not less
i planned to enter IELTS Test with in one month and i want to practice more what about speaking via internet with any other one to help each other if yes i will be very appreciated :)
Where can I find such a kind examiner?I spoke better than this applicant, receiving 5.5! very very tough examiner I had.I had several record of 7.
R u sure this is "8"?
Well , to sound as a native speaker , you must get rid off any accent you have , and that's really challenging !!
she's not bad.
OMG! how can she breathe?
80-100% i guess
If the examiner doesn't grade his/her language, it means he/she thinks you are at least a 7.
She's quite fluent in English (needs to work more on her pronunciantion) no hesitation at all. I dislike the examiner, so boring!
if you speak English fluently and clearly with out any hesitation then you can easily score a 8.5 or 9 if it is a easy topic to you
if she got a better accent, i guess she would be perfect
I think she is smart , answers properly and I was wondering if I can do as good as her ! I think my accent is more fluent , my English speaking oveall is very good but I can't say I am stronger than her . So If there anyone that would like to test me please let me know . Skype ? I will provide upon being asked . Thanks .
Edward Qureitem you can add me at pham.quan94 , so we can practice
my ielts test is after 2 months

+Mohd kaleem khan add me on skype : iahmedmohsin
i think she takes 8 points in speaking section
Those Germans are yhe best of the best in every aspect
She is a educated guy, but I think a little nervous..
she is a guy ? lol
Very funny and true comment by michael.
Michael Christiansen she-he is a gay
thick German accent , y she deserves band 8? i think it just 7 or so
The IELTS examiner is asking question off the template script and giving feedback which shows this is a fake exam. Examiners generally stick to the script and giving feedback like that is not allowed
It maybe be example , not the real test.
hi i want to improve my english abai150694
I need a female partner to practice my ielts speaking test.
What is wrong with this candidate? Why did not she get a nine?
She has a slight accent. For Band 9 she had to have a native-like accent. See the description below the video.
@@tolmachevatatianait's à non-sens
Skype: iluminastyx
why do you think these hobbies are so popular? I wouldnt know even in my native language how to reply that, just inventing a lie.
Of course she is smart because she is German
Women resembles Jennifer Aniston...
She doesn't pronounce words with a very good English accent, she has the advantage of speaking fast enough but sometimes it seems that she's in a hurry. But I think that the biggest disadvantage is pronunciation of words (notice that she speaks with her mouth almost closed, it's true that she has a small mouth but still.....).
Skype:Cheang Edgar
I think that she deserves a high grade but on the other hand her tone of voice is flat and also speaks too much words which could show some nervousness
