Works absolutely fine with me , passive , lazy investor who checks investments twice a year , low cost indexing which has a self correcting process .
Yes same here. Have a large portfolio and put lumpsum at 16000 Nifty. Now I will just ride. If I make 0% for next two years, my cagr will still be 12%. Entry is most important.

@@Boney.M. For me it was not what time I bought index , the learning was how not to do anything when it falls down by 50% like in Covid , it was very stressful not to do anything when all experts and news was creating panic . Buy low cost Index and never touch it .

A new idea and good idea for me. Index investing has both advantages and disadvantages. For some people, identifying a good stock is a herculean task. With index investing frequent look at the stock is eliminated, and also it offers an opportunity to be in the market without fear of losing the capital. Low returns, but better than FD rates is certainly welcome.

As you said an equal weight index is outperforming right... After 2020 lots of stocks shifted from nifty 50 and added new stocks so how did you make an equal weight index in trading view using before 2020 stocks or every shift you give a weightage hope you are replying....

Thank you for emphasizing the requirement of equal weight index and the benefits it entails. One ETF is already there in the market and NNF10 smallcase is a much logical bet for me.
In my view, Nifty next 50 is a better bet to create an index of 20 best stocks out of Nifty Next 50.

There are other indices as well. Analysing them is needed. Always talking about nifty, nifty midcap, nifty smallcap. There are also momentum indices, low volatility and alpha indices, etc,.
We will continue to talk About indices that we benchmark against . There is a declared benchmark for each strategy

Yes certainly Momentum index fund (Ex Nifty 500 Momentum 50 index fund , etc) is an attractive beta fund . The only drawback I see is , 6 monthly change & balancing. Hence Nifty Alpha 50 is better index because of its Quarterly balancing.

Just to understand your basic thumb rule of a (upwards) trending market - the closing price of day 3 should be higher than the highest point of day 1 and day 2 ? Apologies if I'm sounding confused.

Hi Alok Ji,
I would like to understand why two different instruments tracking the same NIFTY50 index are showing different results. I recently invested in the Nifty50 through an SBI NIFTY ETF and an ICICI Index Fund, following some recent changes in the index.
As of yesterday, October 8th, the NIFTY50 was up by +0.87%, but the SBI ETF was down by -0.23%, while the ICICI Index Fund was up by +0.87%. Could you please advise on where it might be better to invest? Should we opt for a more volatile instrument like the ETF, or stick to the Index Fund?
Etf shd track underlying largely minus its expenses
@@AlokJain sir as we know etf are tradable instruments so in this case buyer or seller can also push the price up or down .. , the amc are managing it the value.. is there any relevance in buyer or seller force

Hi, this pov neglects the fact that a " lazy" (or Saintly!) investor, even if he writes a python code for Momentum investing may prefer to rebalance only once a year! So considering the turnover costs, the difference in ROI may not be that stark! Moreover, the Nifty being the bellwether Index is looked after by the Fin Min, The RBI Guv and even the PM! So peaceful sleep is virtually guaranteed! Of course there is merit in having the next 50, considering it's more egalitarian allocation across sectors, as a significant part of the folio! 😊

Equal weight idea in momentum investing don't give super performance...unevenly distribution of weightage can lead to super performance -Marke Minerveni mentioned something in his book
We start with equal and allow winners to run to some extent
