I want to thank you for covering the Puerto Rico/Whitefish story. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and I am currently studying abroad in Madrid while all of this has been happening at home. No one had been able to truly inform me on this situation, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
I hope your family back in PR is alright! La energía ya esta regresando en muchas áreas por lo menos. No tengo yo en Trujillo Alto, pero muchos amigos ya tienen. Suerte con los estudios!
I realized how essential this video is to me everyday when I didn't know whether there was going to be one today. Love your videos Phil. Thanks James for editing the video.
Yeah, I might be addicted to the DeFranco Show when my wife has to check on me 3 times as I continuously click refresh on his channel for about an hour.
The BenC The issue at hand is accountability. Of course they have to be proven guilty before consequences can be decided upon, that is not up for debate. I don’t know anyone who is arguing against that.
Especially since they even do it when the character limit obviously becomes an issue by making a long strong of tiny posts and labeling them x/y. Stupid.
+Renegade Vile Exactly. Even having Phil read them aloud all the time makes me want to bash my head in because of how stupid and petty they sound. These are the kinds of people that I would literally just ignore in real life, and it's so sad that we really just can't ignore them because they have actual influence on our legislation, federal budget, etc., things that actually matter. American politics.. what a joke.
That's Twitter for ya. You want toxicity, Twitter's got you covered. Want more drama than your high school, Twitter has your back. I know I'm late shush haha
As a Puerto Rican, born and raised here, I can say this. Whitefish was in the island not even 7 days after the hurricane hit the island, everyone questioned why they where contacted in the first place. They advertised everywhere that you would get paid $300 per hour, but no one that worked for them lasted more than a few days worth of employment. One of the main reasons as to why this happened was that they would over extend the hours (unquestionable due to the pass of the hurricane) and for the fact that no one was getting paid how they where told on the first place. After a few weeks of Whitefish being in the island everyone questioned why they weren't getting electricity back and it was publicly announced over a radio station in the island that the company, Whitefish, didn't have the manpower to actually keep up with the job. to which 4 other companies where hired to help in the process of rebuilding the electrical grid in the island. Unfortunately the government is in part to blame as to how this is being perceived. Not only are they very secretive as to who does what, but, when alegations get thrown around they all seem to agree that no one ever did anything wrong. To all of this add that The Jones act was only lifted for 7 days, to which countries from all over the world Including China (which at the same time had a Typhoon Hit their land) tried to get help into the Island but didn't have the chance to get there. Mexico had to send a plane full of food and water to help, many other countries sent supplies, the sister island of "Republica Dominicana" (the Dominican Republic) issued a statement offering help to the island, for the many times that Puerto Rico has helped them out. Currently, 56 days after the hurricane, the island is still struggling over electricity to the point where countless lives are being lost every day due to most of them needing special treatment at hospitals, 4 other companies are making the best to take electricity to the most desperate areas, which mean mostly to Hospitals and only recently has the majority of the island been able to communicate to certain municipalities that where completely left innacesible for most of this time. having said all of this, many people see us as a struggling "commonwealth" but honestly many things have happened aling the way that has made us depend more and more of the USA, The Jones Act is a main reason taking away millions of dollars per year of valuable trades with other countries, pulling almost all pharmaceuticals from the island by making it almost imposible for them to keep business. There was a time that a whole municipality was renowned for being a major influence for the island due to how many companies where there. Making Puerto Rico each year slowly lose more and more independandy from the mainland. I hope Philip Gets to see this long opinion but I hope that I speak for many Puerto Ricans that may be unable to comment or express themselves due to the island having little to no power and being unable to access many internet features.
Abdiel Santiago - Ive worked in government utility contracts and it is the govt responsibility to ensure the contract has performance bond and other standards. Also, there is a lot of incentive for corruption when $300,000,000 is at stake.
I agree, serious commitment and changes are to be made, unfortunately they first change that should be made is by the government official who are in the spotlight and take their jobs as a joke more than a public servant. Many of these public "servants" need to take more responsibility on how they think of people and how they work for them. A handful of these people can be praised as good people in the government but the rest have to be thoroughly checked for faults to their positions and to their people.
I get that part, but if the chain of command is corrupted from a source outside of your office and it's influenced by who owes who a favor, it will never be a clean deal and it can be for less than $100 the deal as long as it is public knowledge that these types of deals are being made then no one would have to worry. But in this case, I stress that it's in this case because it is relevant, as soon as PREPA was asked to show the papers for the arrangement with Whitefish every single employee started to run around saying that any other person had the piece of information that the government and the people wanted. Again I understand that there's a lot corruption when you make a deal that big, but my fuss with this situation is that, not only is PREPA corrupted but also the company brought in is corrupted and they only whish for people to forget about the fact that this even took place in the first place. During the course of these events very little was being said about what company was being used, it wasn't until the company arrived to the island that the governor had to explain to everyone who they where and then the president of PREPA said that Whitefish was in the island, it took 1 full day (24 hours) for the President of the company making the deal to say: "yes we hired someone", and it was only AFTER the governor of the island said that these people where in. Wasting time for the governor who was busy doing who knows what.
Thanks Phil and crew for the 20+min video, sometimes it seems some of your stories get cut short or some don't make it on at all because of one deep dive story. I know it's probably tougher but more DeFranco is always a good thing.
Hannity was immature in this situation, in my opinion. Rather than trying to correct Tapper for believing that the consensual thing was about the 14 year old, rather than the 16-18 y/r olds, Hanitty pretty much brought in something that had nothing to do with this situation. This could have been figured out way more quickly and cause way less drama if Hanitty actually corrected him.
and it was the first time i heard the recording and i thought they were talking about the 17/18yo. i think it was a cheap shot but who cares now when its already over
It really just makes me sick the amount of people that'll take advantage of a disaster and the suffering of others to make money. It's one thing to not care if it happens inadvertently, it's another to actively use it
That's what i thought he said to, but i did find it strange that instead of *clarifying* like a normal person would, he instead tried to turn a misunderstanding into "corrupt fake media lying about things i never said".
I'm confused about the consent laws in the US. Everyone says it's 18, but I looked it up on Google because of all this stuff and most states have it set at 16 and some even younger. Is there a federal law over all this and of so why do we have the state laws?
Hannity did apologize but only after attacking people and saying it was fake news. That to me is a poor way to address things even if they did misconstrue it.
Phil, you should really talk about the upcoming vote by the FCC to repeal Net Neutrality rules. It's something that will, of course, affect ALL of us. We seriously need to bring more attention to what's going on and what's at stake here.
From the point of view of an outsider (and I think I speak for basically the rest of the entire world here, perhaps with the exemption of Russia) it sounds like all republicans are just on a constant losing streak.
Puerto Rico is still in bad shape. We’re still heavily struggling over here. In a lot of places, the military has been delivering boxes of MREs and that’s all those people have had to eat for 55 days now. Some places and communities are so destroyed that authorities say they will not have electricity ever again. There is a virus outbreak because some rivers and beaches are contaminated. And we’re barely making it to 40% of power restoration. That Whitefish contract is a lot more controversial and idiotic than what you could explain here, but thank you for talking about it Phil. 🇵🇷
much love out to you all in PR. So sorry it's been such a shit fest to get you guys back up and running. I really hope all the POS's (on both sides) that are corrupt and skimming money off of this situation get their just due.
As a swedish viewing this I'm very happy you still bring up the things you "think we already heard" because us that doesn't live in the US have not heard the whole story! Keep being awesome! Love from Sweden!!!
I love that these videos are becoming longer, I remember you saying that longer episodes are much more time and effort consuming, so thank you for providing both for your fans.
The people breaking their keurigs to prove a point are the same people who were burning Kaepernick's jersey in a move to counter protest him for kneeling. Not a very bright crowd
Why? It made the news, didn't it? Not only that, Keurig makes money off of their cups. So if there are fewer people using Keurig coffee makers, they're going to lose revenue.
actually they're smarter than you think. philip de franco blasted out their cause and they're videos get shared a helluva lot more than a video of their monthly budget
miles dixon that's retarded, by no means does conservatives protesting mean liberals should stfu i suppose that must be the logic they teach idk. muuuh feeelz. btw i'm not conservative, tho i sure as hell am not a liberal, i'm just a fan of due process
I just have to say I get genuinely excited when Phil uploads a video because it's my main source of international news that isn't a major tragedy. I thank you, Phil for simply just being you
I work for one of the advertisers. Emails about this are incredibly annoying and really destroy my productivity. It’s difficult to assist people with genuine questions and warranty concerns when I’m deleting hundreds of emails that say the exact same thing.
When you are accused of murder you are still innocent until proven guilty. No matter what the crime is you should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. It's ridiculous that a person has to have their life ruined despite there being no evidence whatsoever. Get the evidence first then deliver the punishment.
Innocent until proven guilty is in a court of law. In a case like this, you can't find out what really happened until after the accusations have been made. So, how could you ever find out what really happened if people weren't allowed to make accusations until they were proven sufficiently for a conviction in court?
I am writing an essay on these sexual assaults in Hollywood and my teacher said RUclips isn’t a viable source but this is still where I get most of my information. Please don’t tell my teacher 😝
RowRowRowUrGoat You just can't cite RUclips, just like most teachers won't let you cite Wikipedia. You can use the links and resources he cites, though.
U should add a pizza segment to ur show. Like, have a discussion about pizza, maybe have a few pizza close ups, and after that you can eat the pizza slowly or send it to me and I'll eat it
Is this a camshow pasta or bait for a deus vult on pineapple-eating degenerates like me? *Young latina responds to thought of being surrounded by hard and floppy tacos by raising both arms in exclamation.*
Why is it so hard for politicians to admit when they fucked up or made a mistake? My mom told me, it takes a bigger person to admit their mistakes than making excuses. They are grown adults, nobody will think less of them if they just admit they messed up, actually most people will respect them more. Nobody's perfect.
About the whole leeway thing, I noticed that when I heard about Kevin Spacey. My immediate reaction was this can't be true, and a whole 10 seconds later, I realized what a double standard that was by me. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, my instinct was to give Spacey leeway. I also have a feeling that others have done the same, but I hope that others agree that which ever way you think of it, you should be consistent
I will give anyone leeway until one of two things happen. Either hard evidence is provided or there is a preponderance of testimony. People forget that witness testimony by itself IS evidence, and if you have a lot of evidence from multiple independent sources, that IS a form of proof.
I don't know if it has yet but this sexual assault allegation thing could so easily become a witch hunt. Even a false accusation could destroy a career.
Plus it felt a sub/side story. I know that I'm in the minority by not being from North America but how was that story worth 15min? Two radio/tv personalities arguing over a topic. So what? Especially the twitter feud. That could have been summed up in a minute. It felt like I was watching a gossip show. I don't have anything about long shows but if you do a deep dive then please do it on a relevant topic. The rest of the show was quick and on point. Thank you for that.
Dude, I am north American. I live in Canada and I don't care about this politic drama. Not to be rude, but Defranco should focus less on the US. I'm interested about the general idea of the Hollywood sex ring falling for example, but politics,, less...
DayinMontreal You'd rather hear about "liberal Hollywood falling" instead of sexual abuse committed by Conservatives. Hmmm... I wonder why ? Bias ? P.S DeFranco has covered the Hollywood stuff too. He can walk and chew gum at the same time.
No bias,, I think you missed my point, Hollywood movies are seen around the world, where as USA politics,, I don't give a shit because I do not live in the United States... Maybe you should read twice before accusing people of bias, and by the way, we are not saying that this story shouldn't be included, only that this twitter drama could have been summarized... Finally, I know DeFranco has covered the Hollywood stories its actually the reason why I mentioned it.. I haven't missed an episode for 4 years. You are misled I think or I don't understand what you mean.
DayinMontreal he focuses on the US because it's a US based show, he runs international stories too because of international viewers but most of his viewers are in the US
Well his audience is probably about kindergarten level intelligence plus it's primetime so there might be kids watching what did you want him to call him a half a faget live in front of the world
Remember when boycotts were to change actual discriminatory policies? Now we boycott companies who say Happy Holidays or make a commercial featuring immigrants.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. It doesn’t matter how believable a story is or how much you hate the person on the receiving end of the claims, they should never be guilty until damning evidence comes out.
Just interview the women, note and tape all they say. Then call them back two weeks later, reason giving update on the investigation, then ask again what happened while doing the same, noting and taping the encounter, then verify the old notes and the old recordings. If there is no constancy in the stories and the places where actions took places and the times are off too. Boom you found the truth.
Hi Phil. I just wanted to say that I have been watching your show for over 7 years now. I absolutely love the directions you have taken the show in. I have not missed a single show in 7 years. Keep up the great work. I'm loving these longer videos, helps me get through my commute.
That Keurig thing reminds me of when NewBalance said they make their shoes in the US, and people genuinely got offended by It and started Burning their shoes.
Reno Vasquez same. watching this show is such a routine for me. I wait till I’m finished with all my school work until I watch this to unwind and finish the day off
Hey Philip Defranco could u talk about the earthquake that happened in Iraq and Iran, it was a big devastation and should be talked about in the media.
blueghostvalley, I know I didn't mean it in a way as ur bad for not doing it because the show today was very long and hard to edit, I meant if he could tomorrow
It's had coverage in the UK, was the main headline of the BBC News website for a bit (I nor anyone I know watches TV anymore so no idea if it was a headline in TV news though) although I'm assuming by the sounds of it, it's not getting coverage where you are Norlyn? :(
Thanks for the detailed coverage over the stories today, and for initiating meaningful conversations about these topics. I wish there were more channels like yours, only because there's just too much news out there for you to cover by yourself. Here's hoping you can expand soon!
Where can I sign up? Sounds like there are some decent profits to be made. I would love to work for a company like that. I can make good money with no conscience just like Trump does.
As an outsider to US politics and all that, the fact that shouting fake news is catching on instead of actually using arguments is starting to worry me. This whole thing is starting to look like your average comment flame war.
It seems to me the majority of my American peers are either too lazy for discussions that have actual logically defensive points (whether making them or simply observing) or the average intelligence of the US has declined to point where attacking the person who makes the claims works better than attacking the points does.
A student of history could tell you otherwise. The years roll by but the same shit happens with politics. A new year and a new term catches on for the next generation. This is nothing new.
Thanks for the long video Phil! I loved it! Solely on content length and how deeply you talked on each point. Especially giving us Puerto Ricans justice in showing how White Fish screwed the island. Ive been told of multiple instances of incorrect procedure and mere lack of care and sense of urgency in getting materials and installing emergency power. My family in Puerto Rico is still running on backup generators. They have neighbors from miles around come daily just to watch the news, let alone enjoy the amenities a lot of people take for granted. 55 days. That's enough to get main lines around the island back up and if properly equipped and trained crews were out there, there'd be much more progress. But what whitefish did was also make it so proper companies can't get hired. A terrible mess
Every accusation should be taken as they are. You can have initial bias, that's almost inevitable. But when you consistently believe either one side or the other you are bound to get it wrong sometimes. Accusations should not be believed or disbelieved right away, but every accusation deserves respect and attention.
Sexual assault is utterly disgusting! But it really is beginning to seem like a witch hunt, where the accused it guilty until proven innocent. And even if proven guilty, it will follow the person throughout their lives It’s so sad all of this bs
So, the 14 year old he “never met,” was in a custody hearing when he was in the courthouse and 40 witnesses say she got in his car. He’s obviously lying about not knowing her, which means he’s hiding something about the relationship. Also, he might have pressured the 17 and 18 year old girls into sexual acts by using his position of power, as his accusers have all claimed. I think he should concede the race to another GOP candidate and spend time out of the public eye to actually have this matter settled.
At Fly maybe because Lewinski was, oh I don't know, not a minor? Also it was consensual? If there were allegations that the whole Lewinski thing wasn't consensual then he'd get far more blowback than he did.
Phil can you talk about the Iran-Iraq earthquake in tomorrows PDS. It seems like a big story (and I'm slightly surprised it wasn't covered in today's show). Over 415 confirmed dead, with many more still trapped inside collapsed buildings.
I feel like its fairly important :( America isn't the only country in the world and I think many Americans would care. you're just not one of them and thats fine
Philip, I think you have hit on the heart of the topic. People are being assumed guilty before any proof comes forward. The accusation seems to be enough and if you say people should wait before rushing to judgement they get attacked.
SpecialHandlingUnit that has nothing to do with the video editing dude. that's more a criticism of Phil's process. combining video clips and audio is a tedious fustrating process and this video is really long. like James is a professional yeah so of course he's better at it than I am but geez he's fast!
I think the right response is people should stop identifying themselves as democrats or republicans or whatever else as more often than not this leads to a sports team like mentality. Be skeptical of everything, do your research and stay honest.
Agreed. I'm not American and I'm not "liberal" or any other names they call me. I simply believe in equality, feminism and that people are worth more than money
Phillip, do you ever "not" just jump into it? Because you are giving an impression that you are skipping something that you ussualy do, but ive never seen the part you skip over! xD
if you look at his older videos he used to have an intro. and his let's just jump into it started when he stopped playing the intro at the beginning of the episode
They're over the top, but at the same time logical. If they're going to boycott Keurig, then they're going to have to destroy the machines anyway. They can't sell them, or else Keurig keeps making money. That's due to the fact that Keurig machines use Keurig coffee cups, so the fewer people who use Keurig machines, the less money Keurig makes from coffee.
It still garnered Keurig to respond. I find it more troubling that you don't think it ridiculius that a leftist media outlet made false accusations which resulted in an advertiser pulling their ads.
I'm pretty petty to. I went out and bought the cheap Kroger brand coffee pods. Jokes on them, I use an old fashioned coffee machine, suckers. Anyone want to take these pods off my hand? I'm selling them for a dollar on Craigslist. All I need to know is your home address.
Kalam1ty Plays doesnt matter. Its a legal aspect yes and no one is obligated to believe you're innocent, but that doesnt mean its right to assume anyone is guilty just because someone comes out and accuses someone of something. While a single acusation is one thing, when theres multiple it adds more credibility BUT they are still innocent untill they are proven guilty. It could come out that they are all lying but the damage is already done. Unlikely in this specific situation but has happened before.
krisfire I didn’t say assume “everyone is guilty,“ I said because of witness testimony, the fact that there are five accusers all have the same story basically, and the fact that Moore cannot get his story straight, makes me believe that this happened.
krisfire I forgot what I initially posted, but my point still stands, in positions where they are elected, or where are you represent a group, even if you are accused of something heinous the group generally will part ways with you because of the way that it reflects upon the group as a whole.
I really liked when you asked the viewers to question if we had the same reaction about these accusations against people on both the left and the right and listed examples of both sides. These concrete examples made me stop and think.
Have your own morals and beliefs and vote based on those beliefs but don't ever choose a side politically. When you choose a side you start making excuses for the people on that side. My views are mostly liberal but I will never call myself a member of the democratic party because members of that party truly horrify me. I'll vote on my morals, not yours.
I showed my buddy who is a lineman the end of the video about Puerto Rico and he said that is absolutely outrageous, he works a lot of hurricane relief contracts and there is no way the numbers should be that high
Can you please talk about the Earthquake near the Iran Iraq border, its a Kurdish majority area and around 450 people are dead and 7000 are injured, it's really deviating. I personally have family in that area and a lot of them have lost their homes and have to live in tents right now. We also have friends who have lost family members. I really want to raise awareness so it would be really appreciated if you talked about it.
First thing that popped into my mind was "is this helpful company going to be over charging these people, who are in a desperate situation?" because it's very often that this happens.
The only reaction I have whenever someone throws an accusation around is innocent until proven guilty. I don't care who it is. I might absolutely despise the person, but they still deserve due process. Because I would want everyone to think the same thing if it was me. The ONLY accusation where I had a different reaction was with Harvey Weinstein: the victim went to the police and there was full on recorded PROOF of him admitting that he did it and had done it before. He should be in jail right now, there's no doubt about that. As for everyone else, I'll always have the same reaction: innocent until proven guilty. I don't want anyone to be arrested based on hearsay, myself included. People often forget that sometimes these people are actually the victims.
i agree. i would like some cold hard proof before i go blaming someone for a crime they may or may not have committed. it's honestly just sad how almost every social figure calls someone out for their "crimes" before it's been proven. i also find the timing of the accusations very convenient...
neither the court of public opinion nor the hirings and firings of private entities are bound by due process. therefore, when multiple similar and credible allegations are made against a person, to fire them or recieve media and corporate backlash is neither unethical nor illegal, nor is it even vaguely unconstitutional.
A lot of these allegations are past the statute of limitations, these women across the nation are speaking out across the nation to raise awareness and challenge the power dynamic. That being said, can you name a single women that has benefited from this?
ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʀʏꜰᴀɴʙoʏ Charecter assassination until proven innocent. By that point your life is over. And we should not be normalizing people not coming forward at a time when these cases can be prosecuted. Yes, it's crazy difficult and miserable to come forward and go to court and all that. But nothing changes if you don't. And we also know that psychologically there are issues with people waiting this long that a defense attorney will use to their advantage by putting any psychologist on the stand. The mind will convince you are a victim over time. Perhaps you are, many times you were not. We know that for a fact.
I get innocent until proven guilty, but does that then mean that these women are liars until they can prove they aren't, that's rough for someone in their position.
Innocent until proven guilty just means the accused is innocent until proven guilty. That's it. If you wanna be a boy who cried wolf, though, you deserve to be treated as such.
I see what you're saying. I think, at least for me, I must not be remaining impartial and thus I take a side before I've even looked at the evidence. I need to work on that.
Well I think its different. If you are a guy and sleep with some hot chick who is way hotter than you and she said you had to buy her dinner and wear etc and go here do this etc. Then you go speak about it tell the people her sexual desires, YOU will get in trouble. But if you are a guy and do that it now is a rape or sexual assault? So if I said no to this hotty and she rubbed one out i front of me or said Im going take a shower do you wanna watch me rub one out. Could I get a platform say some hot chick took advantage of me is a rapist because I was powerless and she was in charge? Seems a bit odd to me. So these women are all giggle giggle ew ok what ever at the time and now are like that creep raped my eyes and mind!! Its crazy. I had plenty of women throw themselves at me. If a guy throws himself at a woman he is now a rapist? If the drunk woman throws herself at you and you say yes you are a creep. If a drunk guy throws himself at a woman and she says yes he is the creep. What a weird and not so wonderful world it is! 🙃
So we've come to the conclusion that an adult having sexual relations with a 14/yo is bad. Glad to see all this progress we are making in 2017. Great Job Everyone !! Not trying to act like I'm morally superior or anything but I feel like its the same shit every week.
Actually. Since I'm Italian a pretty far from American culture and media... Every time there's a new sexual harassment accusation... I react:"fuck...another one"
The problem is this is a trending topic, if the trending topic was I drove drunk once and you were supposed to tell your story about driving home drunk whether something good or bad happened. A lot of people would have their own stories about it and some people make up stories just to be a part of it. that's the disturbing side of social media, everyone wants to be involved in it and wants to have a story because it's a trending thing. That doesn't mean every single person that told their story is a liar but when it's been 20 plus years and now you're just talking about it there's something really wrong in my eyes. I think instead of everyone making these huge allegations people should be sitting back for a second and really looking into these people and what they're saying and get a greater understanding of why this is happening and who's it happening too. I think it's also need to be taken very seriously and it shouldn't be up to the general public on what happens.
Lynne Bryan Psychologically we know that when the mind is pushed to look back at something that happened to you especially when it becomes a social issue complete with a popular narrative, and even long before social media, the mind will start to bend the facts of what happened to you so many years ago to fit that popular social narrative. That's how you can begin to rationalize someone putting their hand on your knee or shoulder as assault, or misremember the facts. And it doesn't even have to be that long ago when the social pressure is to act. We see that on college campuses where women who gave consent are later convinced they didn't in some of the most buzzard ways possible. And the media who runs with the story doesn't have the backbone to challenge the narrative or the interest in not running the story as they'd miss out on clicks. 21st century human beings got some work to do to get back to a rational and reasonable state of being.
You live in a bubble where "trending" means something. Most of the people making these accusations are of an age where social media is something that kids do.
At first I was confused as to what you were saying, but once I read the whole thing, I got a better understanding of what you said, and now I totally agree with you.
Was just about to say. What do you mean gone insane? They've been insane for YEARS now. I guess it''s just more obvious now since they themselves seem to realize it now. This will however make it a better country in the future, they're tierd of being statistics.
thank you for talking about the whitefish contract, phil. very little news outlets fail recognize that there’s still an ongoing crisis in puerto rico. where i live everything is relatively “normal” but the countryside is almost non-existent. no power for 56 days and my sister hasn’t had power since irma. apparently where i live there’s “too many power lines downed and there’s no way to replace them”. it’s gonna be a dark (literally) thanksgiving and christmas. cheers.

Philip DeFranco THANK YOU EDITOR JAMES I LOVE YOUUUU
We will forever share this video
Philip DeFranco great job James! You da real mvp
We love you James, regardless of RUclips's inability to send me my notification I'm here for you!!!
Also, 24minutes not 21? Unexpected bonus!!
I want to thank you for covering the Puerto Rico/Whitefish story. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and I am currently studying abroad in Madrid while all of this has been happening at home. No one had been able to truly inform me on this situation, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Tatiana Barreras Mendez good luck with your studies :) I'm sure you're doing great!
Phil has been tweeting about the show for hours, might want to follow him to see updates!
firmly agreed!
James = G.O.A.T. Keep it up James. We love your work
not everyone has twitter
Sexual harassment allegations are to to 2017 what celebrity deaths were to 2016
Honestly it's crazy
I don't think ability is the problem, I think the problems are morals and decency.
The BenC The issue at hand is accountability. Of course they have to be proven guilty before consequences can be decided upon, that is not up for debate. I don’t know anyone who is arguing against that.
Thanks, Boogie2988.
Flame of Udun I still miss Prince.
Ugh... All this Twitter back and forth... I find it all so petty...
Not a Hannity supporter, but good on the Keurig destruction though, because those non-recyclable single-use K-cups are terrible for the environment!

That is all so fucked up, man. I'm so sorry...
@heyoitskait Jake Tapper and MediaMatters took a cheap shot. He simply called them on it.
I don't think it was a cheap shot, this is the first time I heard the recording and I thought they were talking about the 14y/o.
and it was the first time i heard the recording and i thought they were talking about the 17/18yo.
i think it was a cheap shot but who cares now when its already over
"Generally no"... The answer to that question should have been No or Hell no. Period. Anything else is fucked up.
Brock Neilon Yeah, a few of his answers were odd at best. The lack of a definitive answer suggests a guilty conscience.
It really just makes me sick the amount of people that'll take advantage of a disaster and the suffering of others to make money. It's one thing to not care if it happens inadvertently, it's another to actively use it
It did definitely seem as if Hannity was referring to 'consensual' kissing between then 17 and 18 year old and Moore.
well you can blame Hannity for a lot of things, but not your social ineptitude.
Is there a federal law over all this and of so why do we have the state laws?
raziel11 exactly.
"Collin, I don't think they're triggered, I think they're LAUGHING at you" IM CRYING
ya ya'll really needed a win somewhere
From the point of view of an outsider (and I think I speak for basically the rest of the entire world here, perhaps with the exemption of Russia) it sounds like all republicans are just on a constant losing streak.
That guy really is delusional XD
TemeryN Thanks so much! ✌🏻
As a swedish viewing this I'm very happy you still bring up the things you "think we already heard" because us that doesn't live in the US have not heard the whole story! Keep being awesome! Love from Sweden!!!
25 minute long DeFranco.

15 minutes of which is spent on some senator allegation story. Not a good day for Phil's international audience, including me.

J Smith Well conservatives should stfu when NFL players protest too
actually they're smarter than you think. philip de franco blasted out their cause and they're videos get shared a helluva lot more than a video of their monthly budget
J Smith That's the attitude. Drive those retweets, they always make a difference.
miles dixon that's retarded, by no means does conservatives protesting mean liberals should stfu

RowRowRowUrGoat there’s usually sources in the descriptions that you can cite ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sorry, I told your teacher. Incoming F
RowRowRowUrGoat You just can't cite RUclips, just like most teachers won't let you cite Wikipedia. You can use the links and resources he cites, though.
Find a couple of legitimate written sources (Associated Press, BBC) just as a good backup.
RowRowRowUrGoat haha
Thought you were dead for a second, Phil :^)

Is this a camshow pasta or bait for a deus vult on pineapple-eating degenerates like me?
*Young latina responds to thought of being surrounded by hard and floppy tacos by raising both arms in exclamation.*
This is a good idea.
Manannan anam I'm referring to the Hannity misspoken situation. I'm guessing you're referring to Roy Moore.

Had the same exact moment of truth with myself
or collusion in a court of law. not for against kiddie bangers, just playing devils advocate.
That "leeway" is called SKEPTICISM. It's not a double standard.
It was george takei for me
I don't know if it has yet but this sexual assault allegation thing could so easily become a witch hunt. Even a false accusation could destroy a career.
sophie m i think we have reached that point already.
What a looooooooonngggg storrrryy...
DayinMontreal he focuses on the US because it's a US based show, he runs international stories too because of international viewers but most of his viewers are in the US
"lazy fake jake" sounds like smth an angry kindergartener would say lmao
Please make this a meme.
Well his audience is probably about kindergarten level intelligence plus it's primetime so there might be kids watching what did you want him to call him a half a faget live in front of the world
I like Hannity but I agree, it is really childish.
the moment you wrote that comment and acted like you were intellectual up high in horse, you became lower than the people you were writing about.
Based on the text of the tweet that the video shows, it also looks like he used the wrong “you’re”, so definitely seems a little childish.
Me: Why isn’t there a show? It’s 7?
Me: Sees the show is 24 minutes long.
Me: Oh, poor James.
Remember when boycotts were to change actual discriminatory policies? Now we boycott companies who say Happy Holidays or make a commercial featuring immigrants.
dey teerkk er jerbzzz!
Joe S it is type to boycott lays chips for 50% chips 50% air
With the whole audio clip it's obvious that the chick said it was consensual regarding the 17 and 18 y/o and he cut off his sentence to agree with her
yeah i got that same message from that, i dont understand how you can interpret it into him saying the 14yo was consensual.
Boom you found the truth.
what damning evidence can one acquire from something that happened 40 years ago? Especially for something that leaves very little traces of evidence.
The dude who made x men: last stand should be fired for making that monstrosity, alone.
#BoycottTheRat
Lol
Dammit Phil! Hell of a great show today. Most complete coverage of the two main stories I've heard. Kudos.
Finally I can finish my day off
Reno Vasquez same. watching this show is such a routine for me. I wait till I’m finished with all my school work until I watch this to unwind and finish the day off
idk hey can you finish me off before you watch this video?
fasial king lmao nice try dude
Hey Philip Defranco could u talk about the earthquake that happened in Iraq and Iran, it was a big devastation and should be talked about in the media.
Norlyn Hoeinsidious That literally happened today. He probably hadn't prepared that topic yet.
blueghostvalley, I know I didn't mean it in a way as ur bad for not doing it because the show today was very long and hard to edit, I meant if he could tomorrow
The Whitefish energy story is sketchy as fuck
Braxx it’s pretty fishy if you ask me (I’ll leave)
Sounds about white. It's definitely fishy.
The cost is outrageous! $300+ per hour for each worker. WTF? those guys better be able to fly and walk on water for them to be paid that much.
It fucking reeks....
Where can I sign up? Sounds like there are some decent profits to be made. I would love to work for a company like that. I can make good money with no conscience just like Trump does.
Love the long show today
As an outsider to US politics and all that, the fact that shouting fake news is catching on instead of actually using arguments is starting to worry me.
This whole thing is starting to look like your average comment flame war.
Fulken That's the US in a nutshell at the moment. Society is breaking down and not just in America. It's fucking depressing.
The fact that they scream fake news make it seem like he is hiding something.
Well history does tend to repeat itself....
...and that only adds to the worry.
And even if proven guilty, it will follow the person throughout their lives
It’s so sad all of this bs
I think you meant to say proven innocent.
oh shit, hours late and over 20 minutes, I'm gonna have to buckle down for this one
If his guilty, which as you said is looking likely, I'd like to see him spend the rest of his putrid existence in a cage.
"I did not have sexual relations with this [child]"
Clinton never got this much blowback from democrats
At Fly maybe because Lewinski was, oh I don't know, not a minor? Also it was consensual? If there were allegations that the whole Lewinski thing wasn't consensual then he'd get far more blowback than he did.
I just realized Phil says "Hope you're having a wonderful Monday".
No one has a good Monday Phil, no one.
Red Shell Unless it's a three-day weekend.
Phil can you talk about the Iran-Iraq earthquake in tomorrows PDS. It seems like a big story (and I'm slightly surprised it wasn't covered in today's show). Over 415 confirmed dead, with many more still trapped inside collapsed buildings.
Sepand Baker no one cares about it. People died halfway across the world in an area of not huge importance to average Americans.
Sepand Baker 415 isn't much
I feel like its fairly important :( America isn't the only country in the world and I think many Americans would care. you're just not one of them and thats fine
415 confirmed, the actual count could be well over a thousand. still many trapped under rubble.
Dave Tyler It doesnt matter whether it's 415 or over a thousand, its still a massive amount of people affected.
Philip, I think you have hit on the heart of the topic. People are being assumed guilty before any proof comes forward. The accusation seems to be enough and if you say people should wait before rushing to judgement they get attacked.
james you did so good!
editing all this WOW
Regurgitating and reposting everyone elsese news?
SpecialHandlingUnit that has nothing to do with the video editing dude. that's more a criticism of Phil's process. combining video clips and audio is a tedious fustrating process and this video is really long. like James is a professional yeah so of course he's better at it than I am but geez he's fast!
Didn't say he was bad at it.
I think the right response is people should stop identifying themselves as democrats or republicans or whatever else as more often than not this leads to a sports team like mentality. Be skeptical of everything, do your research and stay honest.
Agreed. The party-driven loyalty is incredibly damaging to our political climate.
Agreed. I'm not American and I'm not "liberal" or any other names they call me. I simply believe in equality, feminism and that people are worth more than money
Both parties are full of lying careerists, but the right is right...
Colin Mcrae Pretty hilarious statement xD
Very well said.
An almost 30 minutes long Philip DeFranco Show okay my life is complete. I can now die a happy man. Please do more 30 minutes long shows. Please.
Phillip, do you ever "not" just jump into it? Because you are giving an impression that you are skipping something that you ussualy do, but ive never seen the part you skip over! xD
It happens from time to time, mostly to give news about the show, if he is feeling sick, etc.
No ad space offers this week, I guess.
I think it's just what he says so that you notice the transistion from intro to story.
He knows to much.
if you look at his older videos he used to have an intro. and his let's just jump into it started when he stopped playing the intro at the beginning of the episode
Taytyaaytyat l
Those Keurig reactions are ridiculous, but I do have to appreciate some top-rate pettiness when I see it 👌🏾😂
They're over the top, but at the same time logical.
There is an adaptation that allows you to put ground coffee into a Keurig machine.
They are just expressing themselves.
Really enjoying the long show today. More Phil is best Phil.
24 minutes?!?!?! Will James kill Phil or himself? find out tomorrow!!!!
Malcolm Montroy on Dragon ball z.!
it is a little concerning how "innocent until proven guilty" is a dead concept today.
You do realize that that’s never really been a concept for employment or public office, right?
So you're one of those types that believes OJ was innocent cause he was never "proven" guilty in court.
25 minutes? This is going to be good!
Idk it was pretty obvious to me Hannity was referring to the 17 \ 18 years olds
and everyone else with ears.
Set on fire, then thrown in a pool 😂😂
I really liked when you asked the viewers to question if we had the same reaction about these accusations against people on both the left and the right and listed examples of both sides. These concrete examples made me stop and think.
Have your own morals and beliefs and vote based on those beliefs but don't ever choose a side politically. When you choose a side you start making excuses for the people on that side. My views are mostly liberal but I will never call myself a member of the democratic party because members of that party truly horrify me. I'll vote on my morals, not yours.
In general, most Americans tend to be social liberals/fiscal conservatives. Your not alone.
Ricky Harris Guess you love your black and white, good and bad, binary identity politics. My tribe grrrr lol.
"Innocent until proven guilty".
He shouldn't step down until it's proven he actually did something.
Careful. That's an unpopular stance you got there.
Patriot Supreme true.
lorad lopez He admitted that he dated a 14 year old when he was 32........... We need more proof though, huh?
Carley T Where did he admit this? Please provide a credible link.
Holy cow 24 minutes... RIP James ?-2017
I showed my buddy who is a lineman the end of the video about Puerto Rico and he said that is absolutely outrageous, he works a lot of hurricane relief contracts and there is no way the numbers should be that high
Roy Moore now decides to live as a gay man now.
Well he can, try. Doesn't mean it will work.
Ha, good one
Can you please talk about the Earthquake near the Iran Iraq border, its a Kurdish majority area and around 450 people are dead and 7000 are injured, it's really deviating. I personally have family in that area and a lot of them have lost their homes and have to live in tents right now. We also have friends who have lost family members. I really want to raise awareness so it would be really appreciated if you talked about it.
lol @ phil talking about the alabama politicians
imagine having to deal with people like this every day, that's like 50% of people down here
Ika 50 is an understatement. Its about a solid 80
First thing that popped into my mind was "is this helpful company going to be over charging these people, who are in a desperate situation?" because it's very often that this happens.
Holy shit, 24 minutes? Bless you, Phil. Also I'm sorry, James.
Almost a full 25 minutes?? I'll forgive you for the wait!
I agree. This "guilty until proven innocent" mentality everyone has is quite terrifying.
i agree. i would like some cold hard proof before i go blaming someone for a crime they may or may not have committed. it's honestly just sad how almost every social figure calls someone out for their "crimes" before it's been proven. i also find the timing of the accusations very convenient...
neither the court of public opinion nor the hirings and firings of private entities are bound by due process. therefore, when multiple similar and credible allegations are made against a person, to fire them or recieve media and corporate backlash is neither unethical nor illegal, nor is it even vaguely unconstitutional.
Loving the longer videos. I can't wait to see how the show will grow. Phil's absolutely one of my most trusted news sources
“An oops”... seems about right
Wow YT notifications work again.
I was taught if you see a lot of smoke. There is usually fire.
I'd say there's a difference between seeing a lot of smoke and hearing random people SAY they saw a lot of smoke.
Once again Phil, thank you so much for reporting on the situation in Puerto Rico.
Whoa, without your videos phil - I will of thought it was still the weekend.
So we've come to the conclusion that an adult having sexual relations with a 14/yo is bad. Glad to see all this progress we are making in 2017. Great Job Everyone !!
Not trying to act like I'm morally superior or anything but I feel like its the same shit every week.
How do you not remember dating a child?
he is gay so leave him alone (joke)
Actually. Since I'm Italian a pretty far from American culture and media... Every time there's a new sexual harassment accusation... I react:"fuck...another one"
from the clip, he was saying consensual about the other girls. he was replying to the interjection by his cohost.
Exactly right
I was basically just refreshing RUclips since 5: 00 waiting for this
Social networking has ruined reality
stenbak88 Yep. The iPhone was a mistake, Twitter was a mistake, and Facebook releasing the college restrictions was a mistake.
Postmates is pretty darn awesome. Thanks for the code Phil!
I completely agree
You live in a bubble where "trending" means something. Most of the people making these accusations are of an age where social media is something that kids do.
At first I was confused as to what you were saying, but once I read the whole thing, I got a better understanding of what you said, and now I totally agree with you.
24 MINUTES PDS? Should I be excited or scared?
I'm sorry, but I have to tell you, the USA has gone completely fucking insane. Everyone has lost their mind.
Shuvi Tupyerars Not everyone. I'm still sane...I think...maybe...hell, I don't know anymore...
Shuvi Tupyerars Where have you been? We have been insane for a few years now.
Was just about to say. What do you mean gone insane? They've been insane for YEARS now. I guess it''s just more obvious now since they themselves seem to realize it now.
This will however make it a better country in the future, they're tierd of being statistics.
Shuvi Tupyerars i agree
Shuvi Tupyerars How much do the Russians pay you?
thank you for talking about the whitefish contract, phil. very little news outlets fail recognize that there’s still an ongoing crisis in puerto rico. where i live everything is relatively “normal” but the countryside is almost non-existent. no power for 56 days and my sister hasn’t had power since irma. apparently where i live there’s “too many power lines downed and there’s no way to replace them”. it’s gonna be a dark (literally) thanksgiving and christmas.
cheers.
