Another good one Will. What sets you aside from other fishing videos out there is that yours is very unique. It's like the weather. It's very dynamic and constantly changing. You're catching different species of fish and different ways of catching them. You interact with other fishermen. Making friends along the way. And my favorite of all, your skills in the kitchen. I know you own a restaurant but I think you can cook any seafood and make the most finicky seafood eater out there eat anything. Love it!!!
This is the kindest comment I’ve gotten yet! Thank you!!
Good to see you cooking with ink. I used to cook with ink infused angle hair pasta.
Keep up the great videos. Dana
It’s subtle but so nice
Aloha. That’s the first way I had it in college, loved it.
Hey Will can you or do you cook any of the fish roe you guys get. KW Waterman said he doesn't use the roe, but maybe you can do a show cooking fish roe Here on Central Florida's East coast we do all the time and it's great for breakfast or other. Favorite is Whiting Roe.
My second video ever
No Parm...No Problem.

Remember they are married now LOL I am sure that was just you on auto pilot. The views of NY on long island are amazing. As when I think of NY I think of the city. Good catching! I also wonder if stuffing the squid with some other protein might give it a nice kick. No doubt it is awesome as you prepared it though. Any thoughts Will on what would be a good stuffer protein for squid?
This is was actually from october
then you are correct @@CookingWithClams
👍👍
Islip born & still live! Love your videos and Florida friends compilations! Try a vid fishing in Shinnecock! Clams on bay side, great fishing off the rocks seaside!
Trigger fish there!
Learned of your channel from Tug Trash which I have been following and really like. This was a fun episode. Once while grouper fishing out from St Marks squid kept attaching to our jigs with cigar minnows. Caught a bunch. As a Miami native I fished the Keys and Key West for many years before moving to Tallahassee. El Siboney is my all time favorite Cuban restaurant. I will be back.
Thanks for checking it out Lee! I appreciate the view and comment
Congrats! Your getting that ink sac out, made me subscribe. And I'm going to try that squid bbq. We catch those squid in Hawaii, ika shibi fishing. Tight lines
Haha amazing. It took me a minute but I’m thankful I figured it out
pretty good Will!!!!! I didn't know you can eat the ink..... and yes, i have heard weird things about plum island. 😯
It’s subtle but really good
Love both the Key West (FL living) and Long Island (LI / NYer) videos but the Long Island videos always bring me back home. Missing this spot in particular.
I get homesick for both places now
The sounds of that risotto
Like Mac n cheese. Or…..
Good Video, I'm going to get a few of those Squid jigs to have in the tackle bag. Was out one night in summer and a bunch of Squid showed up out of Tampa that I can catch next time.
Yo zuri ones are the best
Can you please share about your tattoos? I know it’s so personal, but having traveled to the South Pacific, I feel like you have a story to share…
Oh I wish there were good stories, I was just a little punk 14 year old
When did you do this video . Key West and Ma🎉deleine are married. The reason I ask, is because I'm in Nova Scotia, in basically the same water and I didn't think there was any squid this time of year.
It was late October, got lost in the mix so a late post
5 hours from Long Island to Montauk? I’m a Florida boy. How many miles is that?
Did I say 5 hours? It’s 2.5 maybe I meant 5 total round trip
What the fresh seafood!!! Expensive here in restaurant that I can't afford mate!! U get it for free what the lucky person on this earth!!
Definitely not free but pretty close to it
Amazing dish! Waiting on October
We are gonna tear it up man
@@CookingWithClamshype man on that squid trip!
Keep bouncing Will … live your best life mate 😊
Oh and soo much flavour in the skin.
Always on the move!
I have eaten squid and I like it, but never have had anything like ink to my knowledge. What does it taste like? Cool video and say hi to mama Clams!
Subtle like sea water but in a good way
Does that ink have any flavor? Idk why but I thought that ink would have a terrible taste to it. Really neat using it to cook
Like sea water
I'm ready to see some fish soup...!
TNX 4 VID LOL
Coming up!
That dish looks like a piece of Art....... Delicious Art !!!
It’s my favorite so far
yewww
WOW, ID LOVE TO TRY THIS DISH!!! I MAY GO SQUID FISHING IF ITS AVAILABLE HERE ON THE GULF COAST
It’s so much fun
!0/10 visual dish. Thanks for the 30/30 rule.
Works even with thicker ones
Always love seeing your content, Will. Cheers!
Thank you!
😎👍both are great
Wait a minute what is white pepper? First time viewer from tug trash. Looks great tho!
Hey welcome!! So yeah pepper cons go from green to white to black and at each stage give a very unique flavor
Meanwhile in Indiana, Eating Hot Pockets here! Hahaha
I’d crush some hot pockets
Maybe a squid ink tattoo of a squid could be your next vid😅
I like this idea
Watching here fresh squid I love it
Me too!
Never had squid ink before. Does the ink add on to the taste or is it just for the the visual?
Both!
first
Boom!
Great video, Will! That dish looked delicious!
It absolutely was!
Very interesting recipe. Looks good though.
Risotto is usually a crowd pleaser
Awesome vid Will! It looked like a lot of fun squid fishing. The meal you cooked was simple but looked elegant. That’s what I like minimum effort and maximum results.
Keep it up!
Thank you!!
I'm curious, how much does a squid fishing charter cost?
That risotto looks bomb! You said the squid ink was subtle. What flavor does it add?
A little salt and ocean flavor
This was a $50 charter
@@CookingWithClams Thats interesting. So you add salt towards the end of cooking it.
Yea Boy, I’m up for some Squid !
My favorite!
That was different. Pretty Interesting.
Thank you Bill
What video to kick back, chill and watch! I love watching your content & Aarons. I know you said no more restaurants, but would you please make a cookbook? I'd buy one for myself & each of my family!
Haha one day
Dude they look like bottle squid tiny cuz
Some small some big
Hey will !! That looks delicious
So good
@1:42 look like a post card or a windows load screen
Yes it does!
Damn that was delicious food ❤
It’s my favorite dish I’ve made on here
Will do you know how far down those guys go? I have been looking for them all over the Jersey Shore and can't find them
So usually they’re caught on the bottom, but these guys were hitting mid column AND top water. How deep are you fishing? With lights?
@@CookingWithClamsAloha Will, I think he was looking for the range, not the depth.
Great video. Thanks.
Thank you !!
Nice work bro
Thanks 🔥
I love Clamamari!
Heeeyo where ya been?
@@CookingWithClams Me and the Wife took an xtra long and much needed vacation. Then a week of getting back in the swing.

Best thing ever
Gosh I would give anything to be one of those squid in this video.
Hahaha and get cooked??
All of it!
Road to 50k will
Almost halfway!
That's one thing I have never done is squid fish. Nor have I had a dish with squid ink in it. I will definitely try it next time the opportunity arises. Nice dish Will!
You’ll love both
looks awesome!
Thank you!
*wife haha
Wife
Very cool
Thank you!
bro werent you at the wedding?
Yes
Aloha. He officiated it.
Always say yes when people offer you food!! Great way to meet new people and experience new things. I am scared of squid, it is either perfectly tender or like chewing on rubber bands. I may try the marinade/grill method. I have some squid lures from Athens when I was there in the 90's....a fishing shop. The lures were way more fancy than yours......very cool looking. Have a good one! Love the video!
Thank you mark, I like fresh squid cause it’s almost never rubbery
I know the classic advice is to add the liquid as you suggest.
Have you ever put all the stock in at once? Honestly, I don't see a big difference, just my opinion.
Great recipe for sure. Thanks
I have actually, the result is just less creamy. The slow add breaks down more starch.
The skewers look like the squid kabobs chicken joe eats in the Surfs Up movie!! Lol looks delicious
Haaaa YES!!
Man, you killed it Chef.
30 seconds or 30 minutes seared into my mind. That plate deserves to be in your restaurant.
Appreciate that!
Impressive dish. Even though I just finished dinner I would still like to chow down on that.
One of my favorite things I’ve made on the channel
Another great one!!
I live in Arkansas and I think your videos are so good every time I see that I want to go and get me fresh seafood but all we have is Walmart and that sucks keep up your good videos please
I will! And thank you for watching from Arkansas
I love it!!! Support all the way from Trinidad
Amazing!! Thank you
Another inspirational dish! Loved the plating. Can’t wait to do my take on this one.
Awesome!!
looks crazy good
Wow Will, theres also very little water out there! You can wade back down to the Keys in that 😂
Hahaha
17:25 in Maine the smaller squid are the ones i usually catch. most of the ink in those are behind the eyes. I puncture the eyes and drain that. It is slightly less concentrated than the ink sac but still is a great source. Then I do like you did, carefully cutting the ink sac out, but unless its a big size squid; they usually don't have too much in there.
This was a first for me harvesting the ink. Definitely doing it from now on
I wouldn’t have thought to use squid ink as a flavoring. Looks great.
Look up squid ink pasta, it’s amazing
Would definitely love to try squid fishing! They are top 5 on my list for sure 🍽️
It was one of the best charters I’ve ever taken
Great video Will! Love how you stopped fishing when you had enough. That was a beautiful plate of food. The colours were amazing.
What is ‘seasoned’ rice vinegar seasoned with? I had always heard that the squid ink sack was quite salty, is that true? I know chefs love their salt, so as an amateur, I was wondering.
This must’ve been from a while back where Aaron was still engaged. Lol
Thanks for sharing!!!
This was late October. A bit of salt in the ink, not too much at all. Seasoned rice vinegar has sugar and salt in it
@@CookingWithClams Thank you!
Wow what a gorgeous dish ❤!
So good!
Thank you Chef Will for sharing your fun squid fishing video and fancy but easy, delicious risotto recipe! Always fabulous gourmet cooking at its best where nothing goes to waste🙌🏼🦑💫
Very sweet of you! Thank you!
@@CookingWithClams YW!
Another Great Video , I would've never thought of putting the ink in Risotto , have to try it , Cheers for sharing
It’s a very delicate taste. Subtle very subtle
@@CookingWithClams Congrats on 22K Subs , onward an upward
Looked like a fun day in Montauk. Cuttlefish and the Skunk ape must have had the day off. That's a nice-looking dish at the end.
It was!
😊looks wonderful, wow!!😋
Just wondering what time of year you did this - before the wedding I'm guessing?
This was late October
