    The best way I have found to transition one step downward (e.g., from C to Bb) was taught to me by Pastor John Morgan (the best pianist in our denomination). Very simply, when you get back to 1--the C chord--you go to Cm7, then Cm7/F (since Cm7 is like an Eb), then you move right to Bb.
    By the way, I love this video! And it is very needful for worship music, since atmosphere can be broken with an inelegant transition.

      I think that's a great way to modulate down a full step. However, in a ccm setting where the song isn't playing any fancy chords outside the key itself, I think the Cm7 will sound very distracting. Of course this can somewhat be avoided if the piano is playing melodic lines rather than just chord. It also depends on where the worship set is going as well.

      @@ArthurPrince03, that's certainly possible. But in the times I've used it, it seems about as near seamless as you would like. In any case, I am thankful that someone is giving some instruction on how to elegantly change songs.
      This Easter, we went from Bb (for Mercy-by Elevation Worship) to G (Worthy is the Lamb/Hillsongs). I could have just done a Bb...F/A...G, but I went for a little extra by ending the first song and then doing this:
      Bb...C/Bb...Am7...Dsus...D7 and from there into the introduction ("the Darling of Heaven crucified"). Probably plenty of better ways, but that one seemed to work.
      Keep on doing what you're doing, my brother!

    Would be great to see how you make transitions between major and minor songs. For example from C to b. It's harder to make it smooth since the mood change is more obvious

    Hi I have got main stage and Sunday keys. We have a fairly new keys player and he is not able to play in all keys so I created patches transposed in different keys in one set list. Can we do the same for Sunday keys I.e. can creat patches or open Sunday keys and creat patches in all keys so he can click on key related patch while playing so he can play in key of C but transposed to our key we are singing.
    Please help

    my question is, what key is the pad that is playing between the transition? If I am using tracks what key do I want the pad in the background to be so that the transition works?

    • @SundaySounds
      @SundaySounds  3 года назад +1

      That really depends on the key you are coming from and going to - ideally you would probably want to change the pad to the new key right before you start playing the next song.
