You know what I really _loved_ about writing down those ancient passwords? When they were ten zillion characters long. And _especially_ when they used similar characters. I mean, it was a _pleasure_ to try and read an i from a 1 or a O from a 0 or a . from a , on a low res, slightly blurry CRT using an RF tuner. Just imagine trying to correctly write down something like this... *OICQ c1iI 0O0. OI0; OO0O II:i* And I reserve a special kind of _love_ for one particular game named Bevis and Butthead, whom used passwords in the special way of those wordy sounds they made in the show. _Only_ they spiced things up by having two different spellings for each and every _sound_ . (Because this worked especially well when a friend read off the password...that was really trollish of the game makers.) The best password makers figured out how to get around the limitations of the hardware, intelligently. Like the Mega Man series, with it's gigantic dots inside a grid or unique, memorable words. For some reason, _AGONIC BLONDE_ has stuck with me, no matter how many years have passed by.
Theres no need to worry... Arin wouldn't abandon a Sonic game this close to the end.... He would never do that to us.... except for that one time with Iblis.... or that one time with the unavoidable Chin move
Looks way better than Unleashed though, I'd prefer Mania over another of the other Sonic games they left hanging, it's actually fun and good. Besides I don't mind if they don't finish it or take long breaks since they've been going at it with certain games.

I think that the part with the well and plates is supposed to be a reference to the Japanese ghost story Banchō Sarayashiki. It's about a young woman who's framed for stealing/breaking some sort of special plate from a set owned by the family she serves. The person who set it up (it changes depending on the version of the story) tries to use this as blackmail to get her to become their lover. But when she refuses, she's killed and thrown down a well, only to come back as a ghost. There are other versions with slight differences, but they all usually involve plates and a well of some sort.

I think that the part with the well and plates is supposed to be a reference to the Japanese ghost story Banchō Sarayashiki. It's about a young woman who's framed for stealing/breaking some sort of special plate from a set owned by the family she serves. The person who set it up (it changes depending on the version of the story) tries to use this as blackmail to get her to become their lover. But when she refuses, she's killed and thrown down a well, only to come back as a ghost. There are other versions with slight differences, but they all usually involve plates and a well of some sort.
