I discovered thus band at the turn of my teens through 28 Days Later. I bought every album and even some t shirts. This band was a big part of my youth, and for that small miracle I am grateful forevermore. Thank you Grandaddy. Thank you Jason. I hope you guys are all alright these days. I have the exact same story! Became obsessed with 28 days and the soundtrack and gave them a listen. First Now it's on and then after I heard that I was completely hooked in my youth. I was always so excited to show them o more and more people, and now to this day I still jam to all their stuff!

Honestly, this would make a fantastic two-parter with "Where I'm anymore". Both ballads to the nuances of suburban dreams - old and new, the good, the bad, and the ugly...love it ♥️
Always considered "I just moved here and I don't wanna live here anymore" as the spiritual successor to this song. Perhaps "Where I'm anymore" would be the middle piece of a trilogy.
How wonderful to see that this gem of a B-side is now the lead single to trail the reissue of Sumday 20 years later. I always thought this song should have been on the actual album and a single back then as it is so beautifully evocative, and it has been one of my most played Grandaddy tunes anyway for all of these years! Well, I guess there is a god after all then! And yeah, that same god has given us a band as truly special and divine as Grandaddy. xx

I've thought for a long time that Jasons piano/keyboard was similar to Bach or Mozart-- this song especially reminds me of the 70s song Music Box Dancer, which I heard as a kid. I TRULY wish Jason would do a "pure" piano/keyboard album-- he is a true genius of our time.
