    Thank you Dr. Bantu & the Jude 3 team for helping to expand my thinking and my library. Studying this topic has blown my mind and has sent me down a rabbit hole of other sub topics. Plus this was released on my birthday which just made it extra special. Lol
    Your voice is desperately needed, especially in a time like this. We hear you and you're making a difference. Keep up the great work.

    Brooo! First, I need a list of references so I can correct and expand what I’ve learned. Secondly, it’s great to hear the history of how orthodoxy and orthopraxy were defended by early African theologians before the Council of Nicea. But this last thing is what I struggle with; you say what hijacked the gospel from spreading the way it should have is because of white supremacy, but we must ask how did white supremacy get it’s hold in the nations? It’s my working theory that it got its hold because the people of God Most High rejected Him and His commandments. When I read Deuteronomy 28:15-68 I can’t help but consider how those passages sound like us (Africans and descendants of enslaved Africans) and what our ancestors went through. I know a lot of people balk at the idea that we of the African diaspora may actually be Hebrew, but I can’t deny the “coincidences” of the history we know against what scripture says about the nation of people we sound very similar to. This by no means dismiss that our salvation is in Christ Jesus alone, but what I’m moving away from or expanding in my thinking is to not limit myself to the man made idea of race and embracing Father’s idea of nations, which means I would accept that we are the seed of Abraham whether by genetics and/or hopefully, by faith in Jesus Christ. (Galatians 3:26-28) I’m totally open to your response, and I look forward to hearing the entire podcast. Thank you for making this available 🙏🏽

      Yes because of white supremacists, they took over and changed everything, they changed the Messicyah name from YAHUSHA HaMessiyah to a made up name call Jesus.
      And they changed our Creator name from YAHUAH Alahyim to GOD and LORD, all because of what the Romans Catholic Churches and Constantine done.
      It never was no such thing as Christianity and Religion, our people was supposed to went by YAH Law's.
      Not no GOD and LORD and Jesus Christ Law's it use to be the Apostles not Gospel

    Idk if this is going to be seen nevertheless answered by Dr. Bantu or anyone from the Jude project, but listening to Dr. Bantu on the subject of councils, and how he stated that there were councils going on all over the place before Constantine and he gives an example of Persians etc, and he suggested that the council of nicea was the first of the ‘Roman’ councils etc… but my question is, is it not that the councils that were happening all over the place fell under the category of “provincial councils or synods and that the larger councils that spoke for or supposedly spoke for all of Christendom (which rome was said to be seat of for the purpose of Peter and his seat in Rome) was called ecumenical council (the world council) from Greek? - refer to James Hitchcock in his work ‘History of the Catholic Church: from the Apostolic Age to the Third Millennium, p. 61 Thank you in advance for anyone from Jude3 project or Dr. Bantu for entertaining the question. Blessings!

    Is it , "condemnation of heresy, " is that another way of declaring Coptic Church and Syrian ecclesiology Anathema. Anathematizing is something the Roman Catholic Church does. Protestant European Church history was unaware of the pacific rim Church and Ethiopian Church history. Are they, "condemning " it or just unaware of it.

    What did he mean when he said “when the Roman Empire was practicing heresy saying Jesus is God ... then said the others believed Jesus is fully God” that just threw me off.

    • @dcookrev

      Shantel Stubbs, Dr. Bantu was speaking fast during his presentation. I listened to it, he was talking about a theological dispute where there was a group that was denying the full divinity of Christ; that was the heresy. The African Church fought for the doctrine of Christ’s full divinity. Later in his presentation he was talking about a doctrinal fight that most people don’t know about. The African Christians articulated the divinity of Christ differently, so the Roman Church considered them heretics because they did not say it the same way. Hope that was helpful.

    • @thislifewithshantel
      @thislifewithshantel 4 года назад

      Dwayne Cook yes part of me was like he is just talking quickly it happens okay. So the divide was because of perspective ... one group saw Christ as fully God and the other group saw Him as God in part? Am I understanding correctly?

    • @KiRetteCouture
      @KiRetteCouture 3 года назад +1

      I think it's a slip of the tongue. He initially said the Roman Empire was promoting heresy while Africans argued that Jesus is God.

    JESUS AS PROTO-ANCESTOR by Joseph Ola
    Yeshua, by virtue of his incarnation, death and ascension into the realm of spirit power, can rightly be designated, in African terms, as Ancestor, indeed Supreme Ancestor...[In fact he is the Proto-Ancestor.]
    First, Jesus serves as the mediator between God and humankind. Second,
    Jesus is the founder and the head of the redeemed community. Third, as the risen Lord, Jesus has an ongoing role to guide and direct the life of the community. Fourth, Jesus gives identity to and transmits life to his community. These factors alone show Christ as fulfilling and completing the key functions ancestors have traditionally occupied in African life.
    To avoid syncretism, natural “ancestors” must be replaced by new “spiritual ancestors”, which include Abraham, Moses, David, and indeed the entire cloud of witnesses” (Heb 12:1).A good definition of “Ancestors” is outlined in the book “Theology in the context of World Christianity” by Tmothy C. Tennent.

    are you saying it was biblically correct for our African people to say in some sense Christ had only one nature both God and man?

      Bible says "one" to emphasize unity. It's the mystery of union - for example, 'man and woman will be one flesh'. So it's biblical to speak of the divinity and humanity of christ as one nature.
