My New Year's Resolutions: (I'm going to try and come back at the end of the year and say what I managed to do and what I didn't) -pass my final exams -read all the books I need to read for my oral finals -make more weekly plans (study plans etc) -be as active as possible in class -spend less time on social media (delete it every now and then) -study for my finals every weekend from now on -read 42 books -try to better my mental health -go on a walk ever day -read every day (-procrastinate less) (-do more things that make me genuinely happy) & my figure skating goals: -land a fully rotated double axel (it also counts if I fall) -land a double lutz with a combination (doesn't matter if it's a loop or a toe loop) -compete at least once

I find it so amazing how you write thank you cards for your presents, that is a really wonderful idea that so many people have forgotten about because of technology. Now it’s so easy to send a thank you message by text message. However, I still think a handwritten thank you card is so much more meaningful and special.

Another great vlog! Quick advice on candle-care. Make sure you trim the wick to 1/4 inch and it stays that length each time. I just ensure I trim before using, as this will prevent as much smoking and limits the amount of soot it creates, and allow the wax to meltacross the top of the candle to prevent the ‘tunnelling’ affect. This reduces the amount of wax waste in your candle xxx
I love the idea of going for a morning walk every day. I just wish I had a nice scenery like where you live, but I live in a big city, so it stresses me out that there are always so many people. Do you also go for walks when you are at university? And do you have any tips for not getting "bored" going the same routes every time?
Morning walks are lovely, but they're not really an option for most people. I'm at university in a big city and I did morning walks too, just very early in the morning, 5/6am *(only* in summer/when it's light- it would be dangerous in this time of year!) because I also hate people around lol. Then again, I'm very lucky to have a university park close to me that means it's not as unsafe to walk there. Edit: also about samey routes, if you think about the walk not as getting from point A to point B, but as enjoying and being in awe of the different sensory experiences around you e.g. birds singing, sparkling morning dew, the cool wintry-smelling air, soft prickly leaves etc., that's really what the goal is! You will find something new, different or lovely each time no matter how many times you walk down the same path. If you're not someone who does that, there are other things you could do - e.g. listen to certain music, or think or work through something specific in your head that you otherwise wouldn't have the time for. Hope it helps!

Your winter weather is SO very different from ours here in Ontario, Canada. We are shoveling snow and wearing warm gloves with our toques and big boots. It's lovely to see the countryside where you are.

I love to see what you get and yes I think of them as gift ideas / things I might like to have one day or gift some day, not as though you're showing off. Maybe the comments really got to you about showing off and so you didn't film it this year but trust me I see it like a "video Pinterest" thing, which is great! I grew up in an underprivileged home in a third world country, never had gifts as a child, so I know how it's like to be the poor kid, but honestly, I don't feel like you're showing off your wealth. Idk who thinks that it's like that but maybe they haven't really been poor because underprivileged people do not have the "privilege" to be jealous of someone who can afford these things because they don't even think of buying it, they just like to see it (like how we would look at a luxury home for fun but won't ever buy it) . Right now I'm in a good situation, certainly not underprivileged anymore but my opinion hasn't changed. I still have my cheapskate habits and I still don't buy things unless they're absolutely necessary even though I can easily afford them now but that's my way of spending, doesn't mean I would criticize people who spend a little extra, it's their choice based on how they grew up. Ruby does not deserve all that criticism, there are plenty of people who are genuinely wasteful and do not value money but I don't think ruby is one of them.

My resolutions: -Read at least 22 books in 2022 -Practice the piano 3hrs a day, 6 days a week (split up throughout the day). I study piano performance at university and my professor was disappointed with my practice hours last term and said I need to be comfortable at 3...it's a big goal, but completely attainable if I schedule my day correctly and break up the practicing by working on technique and repertoire. I also get up and take a walk around the building every half hour. Anyway, I know I can do it. Last term was just quite difficult emotionally. -Write to my grandmother more! -Cut down on sugary beverages

this is so random and there's a good chance you already know, but just wanted to share (for anyone here) that candles have a "memory" after their first time burning! if it doesn't burn all the way to the edge the first time it's lit, that's when it tunnels and you don't end up getting as long of a life out of it. anyway haha, thank you for the wonderful video, and happy 2022 to everybody!
