Remember Arthur? The aardvark that helped you know how to SPELL aardvark? This PBS show is still running and I think it's about time I ruin it for EVERYONE! It's my job! I started watching through some episodes and started to notice something: there are a LOT of bunnies on this show. Now, there are plenty of jokes to make about rabbits but what I have to show you is MUCH darker than that. I am about to pull back the veil to show the tragic secret of the Arthur universe.

I find it interesting looking at the rabbits noses to determine their parents. Carl's nose would indicate his father would have been a dog like Molly getting her moms nose and Emily getting her dad's nose

The show that sadly ended this year, just a few days after my birthday.
But yeah, these are the reasons I'm watching this series. I've never watched it when i was a kid
7 months ago, Space Pirate Bum had a theory that almost works below. Fixing it so that it does work also fills in one of the central problems with the show. SPB theorized that the gene that makes a rabbit a rabbit was a dominant allele. At first, I objected that without genetic recombination, all rabbits would have to be clones of each other. With genetic recombination, the offspring would necessarily share the traits of both parents, and the rabbits would cease being rabbits. But wait: That's exactly the problem with Arthur's animation: all the animals basically look alike, except for certain telltale traits. Stick ears on Arthur, and he looks exactly like a bunny. If the traits were on a gender chromosome, they could remain distinct while all other traits blend into the indistinct general form of all animals on the show.

How does Nick x Judy work? Genetically it wouldn't be compatible unless They are aware of that and are happy with a childless marriage or adoption.
I know not everyone is into their relationship being canon, but the film has given us more than enough signs to say otherwise. So, adoption maybe? Bunnytown has millions of rabbits, there are probably some orphans there that Judy can adopt.

You know, this actually seems positive to me. The rabbits could easily have been treated very differently by their society, but they are embraced and parents take care of the rabbit orphans without hesitation. It's not a perfect society but it has things to build upon and improve. Just like ours
Though it doesn't make any sense biologically....you can see those kids are just the combination of traits from their parents. Molly has a pink nose like her mom and rabbit ears. Her brother has the dad's nose and rabbit ears. Emily has a combination of her dad's nose and mom's complexion.

I'm sorry but that's still terrifying, basically when rabbits are just getting out of collage they die a few years later and that's not enough lifespan in that society to be fair.
I like this theory even tho it differs from my own which I started working on as child, I postulate that the characters on Arthur are not actually the animals they're identified as but "animal-men" creatures, and they're apparent animal identities were hereditary

@@H1Y28 well I watched the video, I'm pretty sure Mason's and Mabel's parents weren't in the show because the dont really play a role their purpose was just to send them to their uncle's house for the summer
