As always, I enjoy your videos. I've been watching from the start. We too enjoyed having and watching the fires at our old house. Over time the dirty soot covered glass would bother me and it would become harder for me to enjoy the fire. If you haven't already, you guys should try wetting some newspaper and put some ashes on it to scrub - clean the glass on the inside. Once the buildup is lose enough, you can switch to some wet paper towels to get the residual stuff off. Once your happy with it you finish it off with a couple dry paper towels. If you have to you can repeat the first step - if the build up is still bad in places. (There were times I was in a hurry to have a fire and warms us up - that I would do the glass cleaning while the fire was just starting.) You will like how quick it cleans and the results looking through the glass. Plus, you can just toss the stuff in the trash or burn it, when you are done. Hope you guys have a good year. Swiffer mop you have to buy the bottle of cleaner and I didn't like it. It made the floor kinda sticky. I bought a Libman that you can put your own cleaner in and hot water. So much better. It's a little more expensive but better.
Oh I love seeing the dogs out with you guys. My heart goes out to Nitro. My dog is almost 15 years old and gets slower and slower. You guys are so good to your animals and are good humans. Love your channel!
Chickens require a decent amount of daylight to be able to keep laying eggs. Plus extra feed in the winter with lots of corn, the more protein the better. That clear plastic would be good to keep them warmer throughout the winter and giving them more daylight. Our chickens lay pretty good for us all winter. If it gets close to zero degrees, we will put a warming lamp in their coop, just not one that gives off light. We also feed them well all winter. If the ladies are happy, they will happily keep laying eggs. ❤🐓🥚
Love your videos. You should always keep you personal life to yourself. But.....We love the dogs especially the Duck comedic duo. So I would love to see more of the animals but you do what is best for you.
We don’t have any exposed pipes. Everything is underground. As far as the pump house. We are fortunate that our UV pump sanitizer light produces alot of heat so we never have to worry about it freezing!

To clean your glass on the fireplace get paper towels damp and dip it in the ashes from the fire and skrib. Won't scratch the glass and works great.. Thanx for your all work ,gives me hope for the new generation!!

I loved having a solar camera when I had my chickens can always check on them even when I wasn't home. Only reason I don't have one now is we no longer have chickens but it was awesome.

Muddy boots. When you're pulling your boots off stick your socked foot in the top of the first boot with it laying on its side. Use the back of the boot up against the other one to get it off . Keeps the mud off your sock. Or get Cody to make a boot jack.
I have three dogs that track in the mud and dirt every day. Can’t keep up with it when we have lots of rainy weather. My Pyrenees loves the rain and snow and rolls is the mud. So I feel ya 🤪
A great video. I like the longer video. I like a day in the life kind of video like this. It touches my heart how well you are taking care of Nitro. I can see the love between y'all and him. I have had animals throughout my life and have faced the challenges of acute and chronically ill animals before. They truly are part of your family. Y'all are such loving and caring people. Thank you for sharing that most personal part of your lives with us. I do like seeing that part of your family but I can understand being guarded about sharing that. Y'all remain in my prayers.
you should cut slits into the plastic to allow for the wind to pass through to prevent it from ripping away. It will still block that majority of it but wont let strong gusts from ripping it away
I think you both have a great head on your shoulders of what you need to get done 👍. Not a lot of young people want to do what you are doing, because they want everything handed to them. You can take the soot from inside the fireplace and rub it on the inside of the glass and take off the black film on the windows instead of using the scrapper ❤
Since there is no wood on the chicken coup door end, stretch some rope from ground to the other side end to keep the tarp from flapping in the wind. I can see that open end being a wind tunnel and rip that tarp right off.
Have missed you guys of late! we have some nasty cold weather coming in tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. Supposed to be a high of -45c with a wind chill -52c. Never had that before. Yes we are celcius not farenheit in central Alberta Can. Keep warm guys, I know we are definitely going to!!

Try cleaning your fireplace glass,by letting the coals cool...of course...then on a damp rag,,,dip it in the cool coals,,,,then rub the fireplace glass on the inside of the glass...I've seen some do this to get a stunningly clean glass.

Put petroleum jelly on their comb and wattle to keep them from getting frostbite.
