This episode was so real… a little bit more than your normal videos… very transparent …as always and this is why your channel is one of my favorite… keep up the great work y’all are doing building y’all’s HOME
Everything you do should be at your own pace. Whoever has bad comments obviously does not have a life, and their home is never cluttered. No one can fault either you or Cody because you both work so hard!!!
Girl im here for the messy house content. You could hang a long curtain rod with multiple pannels of thick curtains and extend it passed the door on both sides that way during the day you can push them all the way to the sides and have the door exposed. During the summer you could trade out the heavy curtains for a sheer linen. Hanging them all the way up to the ceiling will make the room seem taller as well.
Came to say basically the same thing. I know they make full length insulated or thermal curtain panels, not the blackout ones but those that provide a semi-thermal break. Just like anything else, the right tool for the job usually leads to the best result.
Wishing Nitro lots of hugs. I feel for you, the loss of my 16 year old Husky X is still felt deeply after 2.5 years. Try some thermal curtains that hang from above the windows, the 2 lounge could meet in the middle wall. Hard to explain what I mean but in the day the curtains will hang covering the wall to keep the windows clear for lots of light.
I have a heavy curtain on my glass sliding door. Floor to ceiling. It cuts the air flow and looks lovely as well. Don’t worry about the house being messy. That’s everyone’s house. Clean when and how you can. I have two large dogs and a small one. With all the melting snow I now have muddy floors!
Well I’m needing a nap after watching you clean house! Whew! You did a lot. Good job. It does make you feel more motivated. I’m continuing to pray for Nitro. I’m glad he’s doing ok. Your channel is by far my favorite because you guys are real. Take care and stay warm.
We used a curtain for our sliding door. Everyone who came over loved it better than the traditional sliding door cover .way easier to clean and those slides thing broke so easily .always hate them so knew I wasn’t going to use it even in my house .
Why don’t you get a set of full length thermal curtains or 1 larger thermal curtain that can be tied off at either side or to one side, if you prefer. They work really well. Cody could mount a curtain pole that has an 8-10” overhang at each side of the patio doors and is also mounted 8-10” higher than the door frame. The curtains will then hold back draughts trying to get in above, below and on each side of your patio doors. They will make your doors look wider and also aesthetically pleasing. I only buy thermal now because of our cold winters and they work really well. Good luck on whatever solution you go for. Love from the UK.
That house isn't messy, it's just lived in. Noticed the boots by your front door and it looks familiar, we keep rubber boots by our front and back doors. Hope you all made it through the sub-zero weather ok, looks like it's going to warm up for a while in MO at least for the next week.
Summer just put the plastic covers on that you blow dry. But do it on the outside of the house. Wash 1 load of laundry everyday, you'll never get backed on on laundry. And set goals. Wash fold putting away that's completing laundry. If you do one load a day, it becomes habit and then it's not really a chore. I had to teach my husband and kids, when you come out of clothes, put them right in the washer. That became alot less work as well. When Cody going to get doors by the sink and above the fridge?
Dang girl I'm tired now after watching you clean off to bed I go. It has been so cold here in Tennessee from snow to zero temperatures. Been watching a lot of TV. Enjoy each other and have a great week
I too like to do it my way when it comes to cleaning, so I'm with you!!! And you don't have to apologize for needing to rest sometimes and not clean. You two work so much you deserve a little down time!
Roman blinds that you can raise@ that have insulating fabric between the outer layers. It works! If you know how to sew you can custom make them easily. They’re pretty cheap to make. You are a good cleaner!
You don a great job with the house, I play music when I’m cleaning. I find it easy to fold washing when I get it off the line then I know it’s done. You are both so sweet and real ❤😊.
You know everyone needs to take some time off once in a while. I work all the time and just to tired to do anything after work.so god bless. Stay safe and stay strong.
Hi! We also have a big sliding door in our living room. I found lined, insulated drapes at Target that are a good quality. I bought a curtain rod and hung it about an inch from my ceiling. I measured the length from the rod to the floor. They work very well at keeping out the cold from the glass door. I did the same in our master bedroom. I hope that this is helpful. Love you guys!
Regarding dog toys, I collect all the "snow" (the poly-fiberfill) and save it in a plastic bag. When I find the un-stuffed toy, I re-stuff it and cut a piece of scrap fabric or a piece of fabric from an old toy and whip stitch it in place over the hole. I wash the toy and line dry them. They usually don't destroy it again once the squeaker is gone. If they do, I fix it again usually while I'm watching TV at night. The toys are cute with their patches and last longer. I find hand sewing to be therapeutic and no one cares if the stitches are messy. Nice cleaning job, dogs can be very messy, but we love them just the same.
Summer don't be so hard on yourself, we all want a neat clean home but life gets in the way. You're normal, you're doing great,! Thermal or just lined drape with an extended rod so you can push them out of the way during the daylight. Hugs 🤗
Why do you put the shoes/boots by the front door facing the toes out??? I would of put them heels out! So you can slip them on easier! But a good job cleaning the house!! Your a good strong women!!!!
Sometimes the best days are days spent inside doing busy work. I love having a clean space to work from too. PS- I love the way Cody loads a dishwasher. Stay warm! ❤
I got these curtain panels at Walmart for about $14 per pkg. Each pkg contains 2 panels. I’ve hung 3 panels on my sliding glass door but you could use 4 if you like… Mainstays Blackout Grommeted Curtain Panel Pair, Set of 2, Beige, 37" x 84"
Resets are just a part of life, especially when life gets too busy to keep up with everything. Take time to do the important things like loving each other and your pets. The other things will have a way of falling into place. All the best.
Hi Summer and Cody, your house is fine it looks lived in like most people would have. Your home is cute and cozy so good job to the two of you. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
I'm watching your video at 10 pm and now i have to go clean my kitchen. Your house looks great. We use a heavy insulated curtain on our slider and it keeps out the cold pretty well.
I have the same issue with my patio door. I’m considering “Draft Stopper Sweep, Door Weatherproofing Stripping, Window Seal Strip Self-adhesive Soundproof Seal Strip Cuttable Window Weather Stripping”. It would be nice to take down the heavy curtains and let some light in. We’ll see how it works out.
I agree with you about the privacy protection for you, family. Same here, I had to protect myself & for my family too. Extremely great fully I appreciated it. I respected you both and all. Love, dear.
Yes, nah don't worry! It happened to everybody the same like the dogs you both played. I did the same thing happened to me the toy melted. So I bought more toys for my dogs to play, anyway you both did amazing job around your duties each month I watched you both did amazing job inside and out. 😊 Have a blessed day, take care!
Summer, you wore me out with all that you accomplished. You have a lovely home. Operative word being Home. It is clean and comfy. A place for you and Cody to relax with your fur family. Thank you for sharing just a wee bit of your day with us. Hugs and best wishes.
Hi Summer I would get Cody to build me Hayden box around the window you could do it two planks wide or free of the shiplap and you could put your curtains inside during the day and close at night you get thermal ones and their blackout ones as well, just a thought, but I think you guys are doing an amazing jobkeep up the great work love to the dogs as well😊
If you are only wanting to retain heat from escaping, then a lined and heavily backed curtain will work, similar to your windows dressing would look good. Slide away when not needed.
Maybe two sliding barn doors that meet in the middle. Close them when you want to keep the cold or heat out. 🤷🏼♀️ Oh, and just so you know, real people get messy houses sometimes. 😏You guys are both awesome humans! I for one will watch your videos no matter what the content. ❤️
Good morning how you guys doing this morning hope everything is going great out there hope you're getting the house whatever you got it get done with your projects but to keep up the good work I'm proud of you both of you
So glad you just did what you want. It still hurts me that the mean viewers criticized your house and it got to you. You guys have done so much! Remember the early days! You are building a house inside and out on top of your pack of dogs, ducks and chickens. You have a full plate everyday! You guys are happy and it shows. It's so nice to see how well you two work together. I think you should consider keeping those metal cabinets. They will last forever! Just give them a great pop of color and change the hardware if you want and they will look new and more money in your pocket. Just my opinion. Love you guys, take care!
You are talking about vertical blinds that you don't want. Look up Curtains for Sliding Glass Doors. You will find many options. :) You can even have them be backed for more weather protection.
Cody & Summer - you're doing an awesome job taking care of your outside & inside - this winter has been hard on everyone & ok to cuddle up by the gire & take s break 😉🔥prayers for nitros treatment 🙏
Summer! You washed away the nose art! 😂 With my three dogs I have nose art on the appliances, the windows, and my cabinets and walls. Home looks awesome. Now rest up. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Love you guys 😍
A lived in house is a happy house. Not expecting a better home and garden house. It's cold and I'm sure y'all just want to snuggle up and stay warm. House looks fine. I think you were referring to vertical binds at the sliding glass door. I hate vertical blinds. They always get messed up, especially when you have animals. Might want to go with some insulated curtains you can close when there is no sunlight. A day in the life is fine. Even that little bit of snow at the top of your panels can really affect how much you get out of them, at least that's what I saw in a video.
Thermal drapes on a rod that way you can slide to either side of the door for access during the day and close at night. A quick easy way for the windows and doors is a squeegee. It helps with the streaking and smudges for a clear window and or door.
Hey! Not to worry about a "messy" house! Life is more important! Take care of yourself, your dogs and livestock. That house will still be there when you can get to it!
Two large heavy curtains on an extra-long curtain rod so when it slid out of the way they're not in the doorway or window, or vertical cloth curtain pick a color
I noticed you putting music on for backround...heads up with that, you may find yourselves getting your videos demonitized. Careful wuth the copyrights...lots of luv from Puerto Rico.

We have a sign in our house.
Our house doesn’t always look like this, sometimes it’s even worse.

Cleaning in not the most fun job. But it just has to be done.
Can't forget....continued prayers for Nitro....I know he's in good hands.....
The best days and memories usually generate a messy house and filthy laundry😂

No worries, house looks great. I’m hibernating until mid March on any real work.
We have darkening curtains for our balcony door. They work great! Keeps sun out in summer and maintains heat. Keeps cold out

We just have regular blackout curtains on our sliding doors with a nice curtain rod. 😃🇨🇦
Heavy duty traverse curtain rod with thermal drapes in the winter and sheers for the summer.
EcoFlow delta pro ultra 3 system 90,000 KWH power whole Shipping container home and EcoFlow delta smart plants 2 🤓 good idea 💡
You can get insulated curtains for sliding doors.

You are a good cleaner!
For you sliding glass door, I would look for a magnetic thermal insulated door curtain.
Thermal curtains will work well for you for keeping your home comfortable during the winter and summer.
Black out curtains help retain heat and AC
Glad Nitro is handling the treatment ok . Summer you did alot . Now i need to get motivated myself , great relaxing video

Summer, your house is like most of ours. It gets messy because life gets in the way. By the way, I like your smiley face slippers.
Prayer's for your beautiful dog God Bless you ALL

Thanks for showing Home cleaning is actually work and takes a lot of time.
Love everything you guy’s do! Can’t imagine trying to keep a home clean during yrs of renovations! So proud of you both!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s

Awesome job Summer. It makes you feel good with a clean how.
The snow is so pretty
Everything looks great, one day at time that's how it works 😮😊💜
LOL summer I have the same coffee cup that you're drinking out of can you believe that that is so funny
Amazon has some nice blackout drapes that keep in the warmth, if you extend them beyond the doors you can get all the light when open.
Well I thought you did an amazing job, I will take some of your pointers to try next time. Hang in there and be safe.
Summer, you wore me out with all that you accomplished. You have a lovely home. Operative word being Home. It is clean and comfy. A place for you and Cody to relax with your fur family. Thank you for sharing just a wee bit of your day with us. Hugs and best wishes.
Your house is normal.
What about a decorative free standing screen?
You can move it around and use it for different things.

Full length blackout curtains from ceiling to floor. Works wonders
Thick block out curtains will block cold from your windows, or shutters could work well especially if it’s mostly for overnight.
I love this video every day home living
I think they are called vertical blinds!!! You can get them in a variety of colors and can be bought at Lowe's or Home Depot.
So glad you just did what you want. It still hurts me that the mean viewers criticized your house and it got to you. You guys have done so much! Remember the early days! Loved this video and your sharing everyday life with us!! You two are precious regardless of what tasks are getting done :)
Just one suggestion. Wall and switch outlets...PLEASE.
Summer! You washed away the nose art! 😂 With my three dogs I have nose art on the appliances, the windows, and my cabinets and walls. Home looks awesome. Now rest up. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Love you guys 😍

Thermal drapes on a rod that way you can slide to either side of the door for access during the day and close at night. A quick easy way for the windows and doors is a squeegee. It helps with the streaking and smudges for a clear window and or door.
Well look into it! Thanks for the tip!
Hey! Not to worry about a "messy" house! Life is more important! Take care of yourself, your dogs and livestock. That house will still be there when you can get to it!
Your leaf blower would work well for that snow
Thanks!
Two large heavy curtains on an extra-long curtain rod so when it slid out of the way they're not in the doorway or window, or vertical cloth curtain pick a color
You 2 are awesome people! You work hard and love hard!
Use a leaf blower for the solar panels
Summer you killed it!!
I noticed you putting music on for backround...heads up with that, you may find yourselves getting your videos demonitized. Careful wuth the copyrights...lots of luv from Puerto Rico.
Could use insulated drapes with grommets and still use pressure rod or install a rod above door frame.
I have seen insulated curtains for a door; they are thick material and have a opening to use.
Could you do a heavy black out currton. It will help block the cold!
You got a lot of house work done so take a well deserved break. You are both working well together. Sending good vibes!!!
We’re having the same reactions. High temps in the 20’s and 6’ of snow in 3 days.
It's been too cold to do anything. Spring will be here soon though . Have a great day 😊.
Put up an insulated curtain
Sending warm vibes. Love you guys.
I would hang a thick lined curtain which goes past the edge of the door for insulation and so you can push it right off the door in summer
You may want to also clean the stove hood vent screens. They look like a fire waiting to happen.
Any tips on how? I have tried a few different things but they still look so bad.

Flatland Calvary radio! I knew I liked you guys for a reason.
Try " The Farmers Dog " dog food. Your dog will start eating again I promise. I have a senior Dog that did not want to eat and we feed it to him and he started eating. Just try it once.
We all need some downtime. Take it when you need it. You don't owe us anything. We just enjoy when you post and watch the home being built.
Thanks for being here Dianna!
Hello dear hearts! How are you? Well, for the double windows, instead of the thin white blinds, you can put wooden blinds and or Thermal insulated curtains. There are Winter Thermal insulated windows/door curtains. That might help keeping the heat in. Take care, my sweets and God bless!!! I'm glad Nitro is doing ok.😊
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with a TV in the bathroom. LOL 🙂
