    Girl im here for the messy house content. You could hang a long curtain rod with multiple pannels of thick curtains and extend it passed the door on both sides that way during the day you can push them all the way to the sides and have the door exposed. During the summer you could trade out the heavy curtains for a sheer linen. Hanging them all the way up to the ceiling will make the room seem taller as well.

      Came to say basically the same thing.
      I know they make full length insulated or thermal curtain panels, not the blackout ones but those that provide a semi-thermal break.
      Just like anything else, the right tool for the job usually leads to the best result.

      Wishing Nitro lots of hugs. I feel for you, the loss of my 16 year old Husky X is still felt deeply after 2.5 years.
      Try some thermal curtains that hang from above the windows, the 2 lounge could meet in the middle wall. Hard to explain what I mean but in the day the curtains will hang covering the wall to keep the windows clear for lots of light.

  • @juliejones7358
    @juliejones7358 Год назад +1

    Why don’t you get a set of full length thermal curtains or 1 larger thermal curtain that can be tied off at either side or to one side, if you prefer. They work really well. Cody could mount a curtain pole that has an 8-10” overhang at each side of the patio doors and is also mounted 8-10” higher than the door frame. The curtains will then hold back draughts trying to get in above, below and on each side of your patio doors. They will make your doors look wider and also aesthetically pleasing. I only buy thermal now because of our cold winters and they work really well. Good luck on whatever solution you go for. Love from the UK.

    Summer just put the plastic covers on that you blow dry. But do it on the outside of the house.
    Wash 1 load of laundry everyday, you'll never get backed on on laundry. And set goals. Wash fold putting away that's completing laundry. If you do one load a day, it becomes habit and then it's not really a chore. I had to teach my husband and kids, when you come out of clothes, put them right in the washer. That became alot less work as well.
    When Cody going to get doors by the sink and above the fridge?

    Hi! We also have a big sliding door in our living room. I found lined, insulated drapes at Target that are a good quality. I bought a curtain rod and hung it about an inch from my ceiling. I measured the length from the rod to the floor. They work very well at keeping out the cold from the glass door. I did the same in our master bedroom. I hope that this is helpful. Love you guys!

    Regarding dog toys, I collect all the "snow" (the poly-fiberfill) and save it in a plastic bag. When I find the un-stuffed toy, I re-stuff it and cut a piece of scrap fabric or a piece of fabric from an old toy and whip stitch it in place over the hole. I wash the toy and line dry them. They usually don't destroy it again once the squeaker is gone. If they do, I fix it again usually while I'm watching TV at night. The toys are cute with their patches and last longer. I find hand sewing to be therapeutic and no one cares if the stitches are messy. Nice cleaning job, dogs can be very messy, but we love them just the same.

I think you were referring to vertical binds at the sliding glass door. I hate vertical blinds. They always get messed up, especially when you have animals. Might want to go with some insulated curtains you can close when there is no sunlight. A day in the life is fine. Even that little bit of snow at the top of your panels can really affect how much you get out of them, at least that's what I saw in a video.
