Jack is such a handsome boy! I’ve had cats all my life both male and female. Believe me they make way better pets when you get them spayed or neutered! So glad you decided to get that done for him. He will become transformed into a less feral and more domesticated cat. Much less likely to roam away and get into fights and getting hurt. Thanks for being a responsible pet owner and doing the right thing. 💕
Summer and Cody, I have a male cat, (& his momma-a true feral now tamed) that never left after being weaned. I got “Momma” fixed, but not him....for a while. He kept getting into fights and I would stress because being retired, I barely had enough money for my own doctor, much less vet bills. So I finally got him fixed, and he has not been in a fight since! It’s been SO wonderful....for him and for my anxious heart. 😺 Getting Jack neutered is truly the kindest thing y’all can do for him, esp being an outdoor guy. Wishing y’all many happy memories w/ALL your fur babies.❤

My daughter is a veterinarian & always tells people it is much healthier for cats/dogs to be spayed/neutered. You're doing the right thing. I wish he would come in at night with you all, out of the weather & to be safer. I know it's hard to change some cats' minds once they've been outdoors, but you never know. Pro-tip for you Cody. Don't let your tape measure slam closed, as eventually, you will distort the slots that the end rides in thus causing errors in measuring. Obviously, this is only a slight amount of error but still sometimes leads to a cut piece of material not being correct.

When you add the trims and are putting your shaped architrave pieces around, set them back a carpenters pencil width to create a shadow line and then you don't have to look at them not being perfectly matched up edge to edge. Its an old carpenters trick and it looks fantastic when done.
That trim looks great. Amazing how something so simple (to look at not necessarily do) makes a big difference. Jack is super cute and reminds me of our Bam-Bam. Summer where did you get his collar, this would be awesome for my puppy who just wants to run 😬
❤i like the casings in the wood to contrast your feature wall..i would not paint white!!!!i would maybe clear coat them or stain same as your feature wall..just paint door trim/outside casing trim white..just a thought..but love it!!!
Not to be too critical, but this would be something for you to think about in the future, on you door and window trim. With your Inside trim being nice and thick, when you add your casing molding trim ...before stapling it ...set it back about a good quarter inch. This adds Way more Detail and also makes a cleaner job!

I’m never left, after watching one of your new episodes, without feeling somewhat inspired by what I’ve watched you two accomplish again. I’m left with the same impression and feelings that I was the first time I watched you two start out against some lousy characters for neighbors who really missed their chance at meeting you and becoming friends with someone younger who might have been able to help them later on in their lives. They’ll never get to know what they missed because of their own stupidity. You kids have made me proud of you!
So glad you are giving Jack a good home and rescued him. What a sweetie. I am a dog person and my little Sophie passed at age 15 about 1.5 yrs ago. Instead over the past 8 years I have rescued 6 cats!!! Never intended to have a cat. LOL God saw otherwise. One was just this summer, but she refused to come inside (she was live caught, spayed and her ear clipped - several people in our area do this with feral kitties to cut down on the over population). She has made up with me and we finally got her to come to the back patio where we have a heated house for her (plus we have another container fixed up for cats that use it when weather is really cold. But now she stays close, is warm and dry and fed well and she rubs on my legs, lets me pet her, but still skittish and won't let me pick her up. The other 5 are all inside cats ages 10 down to 3.5 yrs. My second rescue turned out to be at least half Maine Coon so he's about 20 lbs!!! And I fully understand not wanting to ALWAYS be on camera and no need to apologize! Time out is always needed. : )
No you really shouldn’t . They are essential for tiny wildlife and insects prepping for winter, they act as barrier to the elements all winter and it’s like free mulch and a wonderful weed suppressant come spring. THEN you rake the leaves come late Spring. 😊

A great and accurate way to measure windows seals is to measure out two or three inches on one side mark it then measure from the other side to the mark total them both. Was a game changer for me lol

That door trim is just so ever slightly narrower; I would just install it flush to the front and caulk the back. It looks great guys!
